About us
Who we are
We are the largest sexual violence support provider in Wales, with 30 years’ experience of delivering specialist therapeutic support to adults and children affected by the trauma of rape, sexual assault or sexual abuse.
As a charitable organisation, we offer a full range of free specialist crisis, advocacy, wellbeing and counselling services. We are widely regarded throughout the UK as a leading organisation in our field. We support nearly 4,000 people each year.
Beyond that, we use our experience and expertise to train and educate others on the wide-ranging impact of rape and sexual abuse, and use our voice to advocate for those who are often silenced by stigma.
Our dedicated team of over 150 staff and volunteers do everything that they can to ensure that our clients receive an excellent service that meets their needs; we feel that they deserve no less.
Our culture and values
New Pathways’ team shares a set of values including integrity, credibility, transparency and professionalism which define the way that we work.
New Pathways aims:
- To work towards a Wales, and then a world, free from sexual violence.
- To use our voice to raise awareness and aid understanding of rape, sexual abuse and sexual violence.
- To work with our partners to end violence against women, sexual violence and domestic abuse, in line with national policy – public, private and voluntary sectors.
- To ensure that all victims of sexual abuse can access counselling, support and advocacy – ensure we are inclusive of all genders.
- To seek ways to better support people in identifiable groups who suffer from rape and sexual abuse and who are less likely to receive services.
- To contribute to the overall professionalism and promotion of issues related to sexual abuse and rape within society as a whole, by means of research and training.
- To be innovative, creative and enthusiastic in diversifying and expanding the range and variety of services we provide, in line with identified needs and feedback.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
In considering our core values, we are mindful of the many core principles and qualities that underpin our approach, such as integrity, credibility, kindness, reliability, transparency, honesty, respectfulness, non-judgementalism, loyalty, confidentiality, and professionalism. But here, we wish to identify the core values that set us apart. Our core values as an organisation are to:
- strive to make a difference at every opportunity.
- be client-led and responsive to need.
- be innovative and enthusiastic.
- involve service users in all aspects of service development and delivery.
- be kind and non-discriminatory.
