To deliver sessions to children, young people and their families that are diagnosed with or being assessed for neurodevelopmental conditions.

To support the development and delivery of bespoke programmes of support to children and young people and their families, under the guidance of the Service Delivery Manager.

As a practitioner, you will hold a caseload, will work as part of a team, undertaking assessments and delivering a range of evidence-based interventions for those on your caseload focused on neurodevelopmental conditions.

The service is underpinned by principles centred around THRIVE and Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies.

Key responsibilities

· Through a holistic approach, assess the needs and strengths of the referred child or young person and help them and their families identify and implement strategies that will support them, help them identify individual goals (through identification and implementation of strategies) to achieve desired change

· Deliver bespoke programmes of support, to families of children and young people diagnosed with or being assessed for neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autistic Spectrum Condition and/or ADHD. This could take the form of time limited 1:1 or group sessions or a blended approach depending on the needs presenting themselves

· Use creative, engaging approaches and own knowledge along with research-based methods and models to meet the emotional wellbeing needs of CYP

· Record and collect data with various tools and use this to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions

· To take responsibility for own caseload of children, young people and families some with complex and multiple needs

· To involve children, young people and their parents in the co-production of programmes, activities and services

· To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with children and young people

· To provide, record and report the appropriate data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated 

· To provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions

· To take responsibility for the more complex cases/situations presenting within the service

· To assist with the development and progression of the service by adhering to all communication requests and assisting with peer progression development when requested through case supervision

South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

Spectra CIC delivers peer to peer counselling services across London. The post holder will coordinate Spectra’s LGBTQ+ Youth Counselling Service. Purpose of the Job 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clinical lead working within our Mental Health Support Teams and wider Children and Young People’s Services. Person Specification

 

Essential

• Professional qualification (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing).
• Accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, BACP, UKCP, BPS, BABCP, NMC, Social Work England).
• Significant experience (minimum of 5 years) in child and adolescent mental health, including direct work with children and families with complex needs

This role sits within our Time for young people service in the London Borough of Newham. We are really excited to be awarded a three year grant to enhance our offer within the service and provide one to one therapy/counselling sessions to children and young people aged 10-25 in Newham. nia is recruiting for a Young Women and Girls Advocate as part of a pan-London project for minoritised young women and girls. The CouRAGEus project is a partnership between 12 leading organisations (WGN, Ashiana, IKWRO, London Black Women’s Project, Solace Women’s Aid, nia, Southall Black Sisters, Respond, Jewish Women’s Aid, Galop, Advance and Imkaan) in the VAWG sector established to provide advocacy, specialist mental health advocacy, counselling, VAWG awareness and well-being programs for minority young women and girls experiencing violence against women and girls, mental health and/or multiple disadvantages. 
The post is currently funded until March 2027. In the role of Young Women and Girls Advocate you will hold a caseload of minoritised young women and girls aged 14-24 years old who have been subjected to sexual violence. You will work from a trauma-informed feminist framework, recognising multiple and overlapping oppressions. You will support those whose choose to report through the criminal justice process. In addition, the role involves providing broader support to young women and girls to address the multiple impacts of VAWG. The advocate will work with the wider young women’s team to deliver group work and prevention activities.

Job Summary 

Work as a team to support the Diocese of London in safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults in line with both UK legislation and House of Bishops Guidance. Casework  

• Respond to concerns and allegations of harm, working with statutory agencies; and protection of those who work with children and vulnerable adults in line of the House of Bishops Guidance.

• Acting as a contact point for those in church and statutory agencies, provide advice on all safeguarding matters, ensuring the DST is operating in line with the law, government guidance and national practice guidance from the House of Bishops. • Ensure appropriate support for alleged victims and their families and respondents and their families, throughout an investigation and thereafter.

• Maintain practices standards in all case work, ensuring five key principles underpin all adult safeguarding work, human rights and have due regard to mental capacity and acting in the best interests of those in need of support. Supporting practice and policy development around case management safeguarding processes. 

• Work with individuals who come to our attention to ensure appropriate risk assessment and risk management plans to set boundaries within a church setting; for those who are convicted of an offence, or where there are continuing unresolved concerns regarding risks to others.

• Work with statutory agencies, including attending appropriate strategy meetings, case conferences as arranged by statutory agencies or requested by the Casework Manager or Head of Safeguarding.

• Ensure that the Bishop of London, area Bishop, Archdeacon and Head of Safeguarding and Case Work Manager are always informed when an allegation of abuse is made against a church officer. To manage case work within legal parameters and in line with the House of Bishops Guidelines.

General 

• Provide professional safeguarding advice and undertake pro-active relationship management to ensure parishes and worshipping communities are aware of their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and adults who may be at risk of abuse or neglect; to keep them abreast of policy and practice developments. 

• Under the direction of the Safer Churches Programme Manager to undertake strategic safeguarding projects and improvement work including polices and projects in line with identified business needs and operational plans. Developing initiatives to support the effective implementation across your designated area in order to ensure excellent safeguarding practices across the Diocese. 

• Understand and implement, where necessary, information sharing protocols.

• Assess risk and advise on safer recruitment with the use of the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Training and Professional Development 

• Deliver where required training including bespoke inputs when gaps are identified and the Parish Safeguarding Officer Induction package.

• Undertake as appropriate continuing training and professional development in the safeguarding field.

Person Specification 

Essential 

• A social work qualification recognised by the Health and Care Professional Council, or a similar qualification in a related area/profession, or experience.

• Specific training in a variety of aspects of child or adult safeguarding.

• Experience of working with a range of statutory and non-statutory organisations in managing or contributing to safeguarding, including managing allegations against people in positions of trust and the management of those who may pose a risk.

• Experience of a fast-paced environment with ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and the ability to manage your own time/priorities. 

• Knowledge of Safeguarding adults and children policy, procedures and legislation and experience of child and/or adult safeguarding work as a practitioner. 

• Practitioner experience of working with victims or survivors of abuse, including adults with mental health issues.

• Practitioner experience of working with perpetrators of any form of abuse. 

• Knowledge and experience of recognition of risk, risk assessment and risk management and the ability to contribute to multi-agency risk meetings. Knowledge of processes such as MAPPA, MARAC and PREVENT. 

• Excellent listening and communication skills and strong verbal communications skills and ability to produce clear written records and reports. 

• Have exceptional people skills and the ability to build positive partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders. 

• Ability to work sensitively with survivors, those who are subject to allegations and/or those that may pose a risk.

• In sympathy with the aims of the Church of England. 

• Right to work in the UK. 

• The person will require an enhanced DBS check. 

Desirable 

• Some understanding of Church of England structures and experience of working with the Church or other faith groups in respect of safeguarding children and/or adults who may be vulnerable

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled project manager with experience planning and delivering projects within the historic environment, cultural sector, and on sites open to the public. They will have a strong background in working as part of a wider estates team, with a solid understanding of estates management, project planning, and delivery.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
