Role purpose
The Centre of Excellence is WorldSkills UK’s flagship programme, dedicated to transforming the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment across Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). As Senior Workforce Development Manager, you will lead the programme management of the Centre of Excellence, playing a pivotal role in advancing its mission. You’ll oversee a growing network of member institutions committed to achieving excellence by integrating international expertise and best practices from around the globe. Your leadership will ensure the Centre of Excellence influences every aspect of teaching, learning, and assessment, setting new benchmarks that elevate the quality of education across the sector.
Key tasks and responsibilities
1. Programme management:
Provide effective programme management ensuring the Centre of Excellence operates at the highest standards, with strategic oversight of all workstreams, including stakeholder engagement, resource management, and performance monitoring.
• Leading the programme’s strategic planning and execution, ensuring that all workstreams—including budget management, timelines, and resource allocation—are closely aligned with overall objectives. Proactively address challenges to maintain programme momentum and achieve milestones effectively.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to support programme success. Facilitate effective communication and alignment across teams, partners, and member institutions, promoting active engagement and collaboration throughout all programme phases.
• Establishing and overseeing a robust framework for monitoring and evaluating programme performance, focusing on impact assessment and continuous improvement. Provide regular reports on outcomes and insights, manage risks to ensure programme goals are met, and utilise evaluation data to inform strategic adjustments that enhance programme effectiveness.
• Overseeing the marketing and communication activity to promote the programme, ensuring it is visible and well-positioned among key audiences and stakeholders. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that highlight programme achievements, generate interest, and enhance engagement within the Centre of Excellence network and wider education and skills sector.
2. Network member Management:
Lead and execute a comprehensive member engagement strategy, driving value through targeted onboarding, recognition programmes, and an evolving account management framework to foster long-term member satisfaction and retention. Oversee tracking and analysis to inform strategic improvements and identify growth opportunities that align with the Centre of Excellence’s mission to expand impact.
• Developing and implementing a member engagement strategy, ensuring that institutions gain significant value from their involvement in the Centre of Excellence to include a recognition and awards programme to reward and celebrate members’ excellent practice and engagement with the Centre of Excellence.
• Providing strategic oversight to the enrolment and validation process for new members, ensuring that new institutions meet the Centre of Excellence’s standards, and work closely with the Network Member Manager to streamline onboarding, guaranteeing a positive initial experience that sets the stage for long-term involvement.
• Overseeing the tracking and evaluation of member engagement, using data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Provide regular updates on membership retention, engagement levels, and impact to leadership, and work with the Network Member Manager to develop strategies based on these insights.
• Identifying growth opportunities and enhancements to the programme offerings that can address emerging industry needs, supporting the Centre of Excellence’s mission and expanding its reach and impact.
3. Workforce Development:
The Senior Workforce Development Manager will lead a team of High Performance Skills Coaches to design, implement, and continuously improve a world-class teacher training programme. By incorporating global insights and innovative practices, this role ensures that the programme enhances teaching quality and raises educator capacity to deliver world-class education.
• Utilising insights from international benchmarking and emerging trends from global partners to incorporate cutting-edge methodologies and world-class standards into the teacher training programme.
• Leading a team of Skills Coaches to guide the development and delivery of high impact teacher training experiences, focusing on practical and solutions focussed strategies underpinned by international best practice that improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Overseeing the planning and scheduling of training activities to align with the academic calendar, ensuring that sessions are well-timed and accessible to educators throughout the year. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to promote training opportunities, generate demand, and expand programme reach, actively engaging member institutions and their teaching staff.
• Establishing robust tracking and evaluation systems to monitor programme outcomes, using data to measure the effectiveness of training content and delivery. Analyse engagement and impact metrics to inform ongoing improvements, ensuring alignment with Centre of Excellence goals and maintaining the programme’s reputation for excellence.
4. General responsibilities for a Senior Manager

• Manage, support and motivate allocated staff to successfully deliver activities/tasks.
• Manage resources (including staff, volunteers, suppliers, and partners) so that all project elements are delivered to acceptable standards on time, to budget and meet the required specifications and objectives.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.
Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

About the Key Project
The Key Project is an initiative at an Islington secondary school, Central Foundation Boys’ School, which aims to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain admission to top universities. The Project was launched in 2012 through a partnership between international law firm Slaughter and May, ground-breaking educational charity The Access Project and Central Foundation Boys’ School, an Ofsted rated Outstanding school. Slaughter and May provides the majority of the funding and some of the volunteers for the programme.
There are three parts to the Key Project role:
1. Tutoring: Students are either matched with a volunteer tutor to provide them with an hour-long weekly tutorial, or they take part in weekly small group tutor sessions that are led by paid professional tutors.
2. Enrichment: students are offered debating events, workshops, lectures and career insight sessions where they have the chance to discuss the latest developments in science, media and politics and gain a better understanding of the City of London. They can also apply for work experience placements at Slaughter and May or The Access Project’s other corporate partners.
3. University support: students are guided through all aspects of the university application process. They are offered university trips, university course choice and personal statement workshops, as well as individualised one to one mentoring. They are also offered specific sessions for Oxbridge and Medicine applicants, as well as mock admission interviews and entrance exam support.

Central Foundation Boys’ School
Central Foundation Boys’ School is an Ofsted rated Outstanding school with 150 years of history located on the Old Street “Silicon” Roundabout. In 2016, the school was ranked as the 64th best school in the country in the new Progress 8 measure for GCSE, and the school’s Sixth Form was in the top 15% of
all post-16 providers in the country. Since the Key Project was launched, five times more students are going to the top-third most-selective universities in the country
The Access Project
The Access Project believes that every young person should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and make the most of their education. They aim to reduce the educational barriers their students face, helping them to pursue a career in their chosen field and follow their dreams.
Their mission is to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring. TAP work with them to make good applications, get the grades and transition to university.
The programme combats educational inequality and improves social mobility by raising students’ grades and supporting them to understand the pathway to a top university. Students who receive support from TAP’s programme are more than twice as likely to attend top universities as statistically similar students, according to UCAS.
Slaughter and May
Slaughter and May, a leading City law firm with around 1,300 partners and worldwide staff, is regarded as one of the most prestigious law firms in the world. About this position
The Key Project Coordinator will benefit from working closely with inspiring young people every day and helping them to transform their lives. The majority of the students from Central Foundation Boys’ School are from non-privileged backgrounds; the Key Project Coordinator plays a significant part in helping to open the door to top universities for these young people by helping them to achieve excellent academic achievements and develop strong interpersonal skills. The school has a mixed gender Sixth Form, and all the students from Year 10 to Year 13 are highly dedicated and achieve outstanding outcomes.
Benefitting from being in a fast-paced, demanding and exciting environment with high levels of responsibility and autonomy, the Key Project Coordinator will be based in the school four days per week. The school is excellently located at the Old Street Roundabout and has an exceptional record of retaining staff due to their happiness at working at the school. The Coordinator will be an employee of The Access Project so will gain a unique experience of working in a rapidly growing and innovative charity.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Key Project Coordinator is the case manager for all key stakeholders who interact with the programme including students, tutors, teachers, Slaughter and May and TAP staff.
Students
- Building strong mentoring relationships with students to drive awareness of and enthusiasm for the programme.
- Delivering The Access Project’s programme of university support activities at the school, including one to one meetings, workshops and assemblies
- Assessing student progress towards being able to make successful university applications by uploading all interactions to our CRM system: Salesforce
- Recruiting students onto the programme in line with our student enrolment criteria
- Matching students with volunteer tutors and liaising with the school to get provisional groups for Group Tuition signed off
- Manging difficult conversations
- Monitoring student attendance to tutorials and devising innovative solutions to encourage attendance
- Using the schools’ existing reporting on students’ academic and pastoral progress to monitor the impact of tutorials, and intervene as appropriate
- Collecting and uploading various data sets relating to a student’s eligibility or performance on the programme. This ranges from consent forms to individual UCAS applications.
Tutors
- Building and managing relationships with volunteer and paid tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme, deliver good quality tutorials, and continue volunteering with us year-on-year
- Liaising with tutors and managing any day-to-day requests that they have regarding The Access Project or their tutee
- Managing tutor attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring systems
- Observing tutorials and giving tutors any necessary feedback
School Staff
- Working with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme.
- Chairing and presenting alongside the Programme Manager at termly school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
Other Activities
- The Key Project Coordinator based in our partner school from Monday-Thursday. On Fridays, they undertake training, attend meetings, and feed into internal projects to improve the quality of delivery of the programme.
- The Key Project Coordinator supports the volunteering team by helping to deliver tutor training sessions, which can take place on Saturdays and weekday evenings.
- The Key Project Coordinator will be required to support our Central Provision function including staffing our two annual university trips and our university society events.
- The Key Project Coordinator will oversee other initiatives within the school. This will include the improvement of existing initiatives related to supporting students’ progression and the launch of new projects as appropriate.
Supporting Slaughter and May activities at the school
- The Key Project itself will be managed jointly by The Access Project and the School. The Project Coordinator will also work closely with the Community team at Slaughter and May, attending regular meetings alongside their Programme Manager to update on and review the progress of the programme against its KPIs, as well as providing formal termly reports.

The Food Chain exists to ensure people living with HIV in London can access the nutrition they need to get well, stay well and lead healthy, independent lives. We deliver meals, groceries and formula milk, run cookery and nutrition classes, and hold twice-weekly communal meals for some of the most vulnerable and isolated people living with HIV in London.
We are the only HIV Nutrition specialist charity in the UK: we exist at the intersection between HIV, food poverty and social isolation. Everyone accessing our services is referred by a health or social care professional who has identified that they are experiencing crisis. Each person receives a personalised Dietetic Assessment from one of our HIV Specialist Dietitians, designed specifically to meet their needs. By offering a tailored package of support, at the appropriate time, we help people to lead healthy, independent lives.
The Grants and Fundraising Manager will work closely with the CEO in order to ensure that income is secured to enable the delivery and sustainability of our services and activities. Taking the lead on applications to trusts and grant giving organisations, the successful candidate will also work with our fundraising working group (made up of staff, trustees and volunteers) to maximise diverse income generation strategies on a community and individual level.

Position: Grants and Fundraising Manager

Location: Flexible and remote working is offered to all staff. We have an office in Caledonian Road, London, and we deliver some services in Stepney Green. We envisage this role being hybrid.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time), core hours of 9.00am–5.30pm but flexible and part-time working hours will be considered.

Purpose:
• To implement a successful programme of fundraising from trust and other grant making bodies to ensure the sustainability of The Food Chain Services
• To work with the CEO and Trustees to implement fundraising initiatives including community fundraising, engagement with corporate and individual donors
Key Activities & Accountabilities:
Income generation
• Research, prepare and submit high quality applications for core and project funding to Charitable Trusts and Foundations, corporate bodies and other partners as required to meet the charity’s core purpose
• Maintain a realistic pipeline of existing and potential applications for all funding streams.
• Maintain and develop positive relationships with existing Trust funders, donors and other supporters of The Food Chain as appropriate
• Ensure timely acknowledgement of income to all donors and accurate and comprehensive donor and income records on the Salesforce CRM.
• Ensure that accurate and engaging funder reports are written and provided to the funder on time.
• Ensure that record keeping relating to all fundraising activity is accurate, up to date and timely, using Salesforce CRM
• Ensure that all necessary reporting to all funders is of a high quality and submitted in a timely manner.
• To work with the Trustee Fundraising Sub-Group providing support providing facilitation to the group including researching prospective donors and implementing action plans.
• Develop and implement fundraising initiatives to increase support from, and enhance our profile with all potential donors, including corporate partners and individuals.
Financial management
• Understand the organizational budget, to identify gaps in funding and opportunities for fundraising.
• Support the CEO in Monitoring cash flow forecasts and the budget against actuals and bring any major variations in planned income and grant payments for discussion to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Purpose of role
The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director with significant experience in major donor fundraising who will help drive the organisation’s fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying its fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our teams to differentiate and grow income as the organisation enters a new phase of strategic growth. The International Fundraising Director – with this focus on Major Donors - will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s national country fundraising directors - working with the International Director of Communication and Individual Fundraising and the wider fundraising team. We are now recruiting for a Governance and Planning Manager, a key role in ensuring that the Charity has robust plans and monitoring systems in place to drive progress and impact. You will also, crucially, help us to ensure that our high-profile trustees are supported effectively.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Governance and Planning Manager will be working with colleagues across the organisation to provide guidance on trustee governance and business planning. You will be demonstrating your experience of project management and helping to bring together our diverse and dedicate teams to support collaboration and a ‘one Charity’ approach.
To be successful in this role, you’ll be organised with strong attention to detail and ideally be qualified in a project management discipline, although we’ll also consider candidates with demonstrable experience in lieu of a qualification. You'll be an excellent minute-taker with strong report writing and planning skills.
You will also have strong influencing and interpersonal skills, able to build accountability across individuals at all levels the organisation to meet our collective targets and objectives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Events and Partnerships Manager to join our Events and Partnerships Teams. This role will require the successful candidate to proactively lead our Events Team to review and overhaul our current events programme before implementing a varied and exciting refreshed programme which will engage new and current supporters as well as the local community and our children, young people and their families.

Role Requirements
- Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
- Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised
