About us
Who we are
Established in 1984, Where Next Association is a local charity providing work experience and training for people with learning disabilities or those disadvantaged in some way.
We help people reach their full potential and discover new talents and skills. We help them gain:
- self-esteem and confidence
- a sense of purpose
- respect and dignity
- work experience
- greater independence
- improved quality of life
- new qualifications
- new friends and social skills
and provide fulfilling respite opportunities for carers.
We support individuals of all ages with varying abilities to experience work in a real commercial environment with real customers providing opportunity to mix with the local community.
Support is provided by qualified staff in a safe environment. All our staff are DBS checked. You may choose to attend different units and hours are arranged to suit.
As an accredited centre we offer person-centred training programmes and ASDAN certificated courses. By monitoring, recording and reviewing people’s progress we are able to tailor them to the individual.
Everyone can choose to take part in activity events. These may support literacy, numeracy, work-related training or life skills. Social events are also organised just for fun!
If you or your family member needs extra support personal assistants and support workers may accompany you to Where Next.
Most of all we make a real difference to people’s lives.
