We are looking for a talented fundraiser, ideally with a background in the cultural sector to join the Gardens, Libraries & Museums (GLAM) Team within the Development and Alumni Engagement team of the University of Oxford.
Primarily based at the Ashmolean Museum, the Development Executive will play a critical role in helping advance the mission and priority projects of the Museum, working closely with the Museum’s Head of Development, Director, curatorial and public engagement teams.
The Ashmolean’s collections are important and renowned on their own accounts, but also play a key role in the University’s research. They are open doors to the University of Oxford, encouraging a diverse range of communities to engage with our academics and curators.
About the role:
Your role will include fundraising to support the Ashmolean across a variety of areas, including exhibitions, public programmes, capital, endowment and acquisition projects as agreed with the Director, and will involve working with individuals, trusts and corporations. You will be responsible for a portfolio of donors, including prospecting and stewardship. As part of the wider GLAM fundraising team, you will also be responsible for delivery of stewardship events and get involved with wider appeal activities. You will work with curators and Directors in the various institutions and have the opportunity to frame appealing projects to present to prospects.

Role purpose:

Role Context
- The Head of Treasury role involves planning, project management and the programming and co-ordination of all treasury activities across the group.

- The role holder will provide the bridge between setting and delivery of treasury strategy for the Group.

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, community groups, donors, and business partners.
• Represent the charity in public and at events, advocating for the charity's mission and the importance of vocational education for vulnerable young people.
• Ensure the charity’s work is widely known and respected in the community.
6. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Implement systems for monitoring and evaluating the success of the training programmes

The Wallich is one of the most important organisations working to combat homelessness in Wales. The Wallich has grown in size over the last decade, making us the largest Welsh-focused charity working in the sector. After a detailed review of our fundraising, we are looking for an experienced Head of Fundraising to build on our solid foundations. We want someone with imagination and proven expertise to create a bold income generation programme that will help us to continue innovating and enable us to deliver our mission to end homelessness in Wales.
You will have to guide our team of talented fundraisers, introduce and grow initiatives to meet your fundraising targets and you will galvanise a willing organisation to engage with our wonderful donors. Purpose of Role:
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will take strategic ownership of income generation across all fundraising income streams. You will lead the development, implementation and delivery of innovative fundraising strategies to drive growth in individual giving, community and events fundraising, corporate partnerships, and support fundraising from trusts and statutory grants whensoever required.

Role description
You will have the skills, experience, sensitivity and personal confidence to oversee all the activities of the charity but will have specific responsibility for:
Governance

Reporting the charities outputs to the board of trustees, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations of how to address these.

Job Description
The purpose of this role is three-fold.
First, to ensure that Sustrans has the people, money, processes, controls and systems to deliver its 2025-30 strategy, as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Second, to support the CEO in holding the organisation to account for delivery, and to drive continual improvement of this delivery across all functions.
Third, through effective financial planning and control, to ensure that Sustrans remains financially sustainable.
To do this effectively, this role is responsible for the following functions: Finance; IT; People; Planning, Governance & Assurance.
Key responsibilities:Finance
- Responsible for the overall financial strategy and financial planning for the charity, including the development of effective financial policies, and for the annual budget and business plan.
- Leading all financial operations of the organisation including business partnering, financial analysis, accounting and treasury, contract and grants management, and procurement. Provide regular financial updates, recommendations and strategic insights to the Executive, Board of Trustees and associated sub-committees.
- Lead the promotion and delivery by the whole organisation of good financial management so that the funds and assets for which the Charity is responsible are safeguarded and used appropriately, economically, efficiently and effectively.
- Accountable for producing annual statutory accounts for each financial year.
IT & Systems
- Strategic oversight of IT operations and successful evolution and implementation of our Systems & Technology strategy and roadmap.
People
- Responsible for developing Sustrans' culture and people capability by ensuring the right structures and processes are in place to nurture and develop the Charity's people. This includes determining relevant strategies and HR and policies, and then ensuring their implementation through an approach of continual improvement.
Governance* Planning & Assurance - including Risk, Health and Safety, Legal, Data Management, Procurement, Planning, Reporting, 3rd line programme and project assurance, Continuous Improvement
- As the designated Executive lead for Health and Safety - review, update and ensure the effective delivery of Sustrans Health and Safety Policy.
- Responsible for the Charity's risk framework, enabling the Board to set the organisation's risk appetite and then for the processes and tools that enable risk to be rigorously identified and managed.
- Data governance, ensuring compliance and risk minimisation on all matters of data protection and governance.
- Developing and implementing the processes required to ensure consistent and timely reporting of all performance across the Charity and up to the Board of Trustees, to ensure line of sight into delivery of the strategy and provide the foundations for improvement.
- Second line assurance of project and programme delivery across Sustrans.
- NOTE: Governance* and third line Corporate level assurance sits within this Portfolio but reports to the CEO.
The Successful Applicant
