The Role:

As a Community and Events Fundraiser, you will:

• Engage and Inspire: Work with our amazing community supporters, raising the profile of Prospect Hospice and attracting new supporters to our cause.
• Drive Fundraising Efforts: Help our supporters organize and participate in various events, activities, and fundraising platforms to generate essential income.
• Achieve Impactful Targets: Channel your drive and commitment to meet and exceed fundraising targets, directly contributing to the care and support we offer to our patients and their families.
• Flexible Work Schedule: Work 30 to 37.5 hours per week (minimum 3 days in the office), Monday to Friday, with the ability to work evenings and weekends when needed for events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Income and Expenditure Management: Take charge of your own targets, ensuring a robust and sustainable income stream for the hospice.
• Supporter Experience: Provide exceptional support and guidance to groups and individuals organising events and activities in aid of the hospice, maximizing their fundraising opportunities.
• Ambassador Role: Act as a passionate ambassador for Prospect Hospice, recruiting sign-ups, encouraging fundraising efforts, and galvanizing community support.
• Community Relationship Building: We’re looking for someone local to Swindon, Marlborough and northwest Wiltshire to build and maintain strong relationships within the community, using your experience to foster long-term engagement.

About The Role  

The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Development Managers to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

As a Community Development Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Community Builders, fostering collaboration, innovation and commitment to community impact working in an ABCD informed way. The aim is to connect and re-engage members of the AFC with the services at Help for Heroes and within the wider community. 

This is an exciting and varied role for dynamic and confident individuals, in which the right candidate will work directly within communities across the UK; bringing the Armed Forces Community together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the leadership of an integrated, community development and hybrid volumizing offer which improves reach and sustained positive impact for members of the Armed Forces community. 

About You

You will be responsible for the effective line management of a dispersed community-based team and have experience managing co-designed/co-delivered community development initiatives. You will recognise the potential for growth and expansion within these communities and empower local people to exact changes focused on what’s important to them. 

You will have a genuine professional commitment to ABCD informed delivery, possess the capacity to work collaboratively with others and pilot projects for new community development initiatives by identifying and creating viable plans for growth and expansion to increase reach, impact and accessibility across the AFC.  

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate locality-based Community Development related services 

• Provide line management for a regionally specific team of Community Builders, positively participating in line management meetings, annual appraisals, monthly and quarterly team meetings as required facilitating 1:1 and group line management supervision including volunteers 

• Act as safeguarding and health and safety lead for your regional team ensuring safe practice 

• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for Community Development colleagues/volunteers and programme activity

• Identify and leverage community assets and resources to support community development initiatives 

• Support the collation of evidence and impact data 

PLEASE NOTE: There is a requirement for frequent travel extensively within the regions allocated for this role. There will be evening and weekend working as required and flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

• Educated to degree level in a relevant field (Social Science, Community Development, Health and Social Care), related field, or hold an equivalent professional Community Development qualification. 

• Demonstrable experience of senior management/leadership of a Community Development team or integrated multi-disciplinary service informed by Community Development principles 

• Proficiency in managing projects from conception to completion  

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively 

About The Team 

You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Together the Community Development Managers and the Community Builders will strengthen local communities using resources and networks that are readily available. You will do this to proliferate opportunities for sustainable participation and engagement alongside a multi-disciplinary team in order to support the Armed Forces Community to live well after service.

Forcesline is SSAFA's frontline telephone service handling both day-to-day and more complex enquiries from the Armed Forces community.

This role is responsible for the management and development of the Forcesline service and will also act as point of contact for the Veterans Gateway.  The Manager will lead and support a team of advisors, developing the service in response to the needs of the clients and technological requirements, as well as ensuring a high quality of service. The role involves the preparation of data, briefings, presentations and some media work.

About the role

This role requires the management of a small team of advisors who provide free confidential listening, information and signposting service for serving personnel, their families, veterans and professionals who are looking for help. It requires a resilient individual who is able to both support the team and develop the service as it moves forward with advances in technology enabling wider means of communicating with those it is helping.  It is an exciting time to join as these changes are currently occurring and you will be involved with this transition.

About the team

You will work with a great team of advisors who are both experienced and skilled. All Forcesline Welfare Advisors are trained in Safeguarding and each practitioner has at least a Level 2 Counselling qualification. Their experience covers former Samaritans, Pastrol Care, Social Work and Police Despatch Calling. As a team they learn and support one another. You as their Manager will be fully involved with this and will ensure SSAFA delivers on its mission as a trusted source of support to the Armed Forces Community as their times of need.

About you

You will have had experience in delivering welfare support to others, and ideally this has been gained through a helpline. While the team is small, some management experience would be desirable. You will also need to be technically competent as most of this work will be done virtually through digital means.

Reporting to the Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, you’d be part of a team which raises money from community and events fundraising activities. Proactively managing relationships with individuals and groups within the community is key. Along with focusing on maximising opportunities from existing supporters, the post holder will also work to harness and support new ideas and partnerships to grow this vital income stream.

For you the supporter is key, whether they’re a running in a marathon, holding a tea party, or taking part in an international sponsored bike ride. You’ll be enthusiastic, have strong verbal and written communication skills and some experience working in charity fundraising and of community fundraising - voluntary or paid. Do you enjoy working in cross-functional teams to design end-to-end services and experiences? We are looking for a brilliant Service Designer to join our team, designing, building and iterating services and products that span the whole of RNID. With a focus on translating and joining up user and organisational need, you will support us to deliver user-centred services to the 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. 

You should have professional experience working as a Service Designer or in another similar role. Our Service Designer will design user-centred experiences for complex services. You will:

Be passionately user-focused by recommending and supporting suitable approaches to understanding users and their needs. You support colleagues across a variety of roles to translate user insights into outcomes.

Ensure evidence and context-based design by collecting and synthesising evidence from best practice, research, and testing to inform your work.

Understand strategic goals and deliver work that supports them while considering organisational constraints. You focus on outcomes rather than solutions.

Collaborate in partnership with multiple teams and roles across the matrix to design the very best outcomes.

It’s an exciting time to join War Child as they have just launched their new Alliance initiative, which brings together the five War Child fundraising members (in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden, plus Children in Conflict in the US), with 14 programme members, and coordinated by a new international body: the War Child Alliance Foundation. The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. Working closely with the Philanthropy Lead (line manager) and Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will manage a portfolio of major donors at 5- and 6-figure level to support a team target of c£1.4M.

Results oriented, you will have strong interpersonal and management skills together with a flexible and proactive approach. This is a great opportunity for a motivated relationship fundraiser with a passion for international development to join a successful and ambitious team.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will: 

• Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving
• Lead and be supported on building an excellent stewardship programme, supporting relationship managers across the team to deliver sector leading supporter journeys
• Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humantarian NGO
• Ability to input into fundraising strategies with a track record of securing 4-5 figure gifts and delivering against targets
• Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
• A relationship focussed approach with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally

This year, and every year, as many as 600 families in the UK will learn that their child has only half a working heart. These children have one of the most complex of all heart conditions, and there is no cure. Families in this situation need care and support to understand the information, make important treatment decisions, and meet the everyday challenges of living with half a heart can bring.

That is why Little Hearts Matter exists. We wrap a blanket of understanding and care around families at every stage of their half a heart journey. We are always here when they need us.

Without donations, Little Hearts Matter would not be able to offer our services, free of charge, to support individuals and families across the UK. We do not receive any government funding for our work. Our fundraising team is essential to raising these vital funds—over £440,000 annually. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you, our Fundraising Manager, within our three-person fundraising team.

In your first three months, you will get to know the charity well and figure out who our current supporters are. You will devise a plan for how you will use your experience to raise money, with a focus on building our challenge and events portfolio. You will also start building good relationships with key people inside and outside

Little Hearts Matter, including networking within the Birmingham and West Midlands business community.

By the end of your first year, you will have put your plan into action, continually improving it as you go. You will have built up our events and challenges portfolio, connected with donors, found new supporters, and tried out different ways to bring in funds and hit your target. About Little Hearts Matter

Little Hearts Matter (LHM) is a national charity with over 7000 members. We are the only charity in the UK that offers support and information to, and represents the needs of, children and families following a diagnosis of single ventricle heart disease (half a working heart). These congenital cardiac conditions can never be cured, even following repeated surgery, so the children must learn to live within the restrictions that their disability and fears for their future create.

Little Hearts Matter is there from the time parents learn of their child’s condition, through risk-filled treatment into a challenged-filled life at home. LHM is there to support the children, and their families, through their hopes and aspirations and the gradual realisation that they will never have the same life as their peers. Our aims are to:

Alleviate isolation by offering support, friendship and understanding from the time a diagnosis is made, through treatment decisions, hospital care and into life at home, eventually introducing parents and patients to other families who have similar experiences and shared concerns helping them to build a network of support.

Reduce fear by offering patients, parents, siblings, and the extended family a greater opportunity to understand the diagnosis and treatment paths available.

Reduce confusion and a lack of understanding by producing and supplying for free, user focused information that supports and aids understanding from the time of diagnosis, through treatments and into life at home.

Raise a greater awareness within Medical, Educational, Social and Governmental circles of the needs of children, and their families, as they travel through every stage of their lives.

Specific areas of responsibility

Working as part of the fundraising team, the Fundraising Manager will:  

• Be responsible for their own portfolio of supporters, maintaining and growing income, regularly forecasting income and expenditure against agreed targets (circa. £200,000+ annually)
• Proactively manage and grow relationships with diverse corporate and community supporters, delivering tailored propositions where appropriate, providing excellent relationship management to maximise their impact and long-term engagement.
• Build excellent working relationships with regional partners, supporters, and volunteers, to maximise the impact of their own fundraising and identify new opportunities through their networks.

ROTA are seeking an experienced Service Development Manager, to join its team. Help us end systemic racism in Britain!

This role spearheads the development and execution of a strategic plan to dismantle systemic racism within the housing systems, ultimately leading to greater housing equity for Black and Global Majority (BGM) communities.

The position will encompass a multifaceted approach, focusing on Policy & Advocacy, Community Collaboration & Empowerment, and Service Delivery Innovation.

The aim of ROTA’s housing project, funded by the Oak Foundation, is to examine the racial inequities that continue to plague the housing sector. Using a community-based peer research approach, we will put the lived experiences of Black and Global Majority communities who have been affected by insecure housing at the heart of this research, amplifying their voices through dedicated campaigning and advocacy.

We ultimately hope that the findings from this research can be used to formulate meaningful policy and influence practice to help end discriminatory practices in the housing sector.

Location: Home based (1 day a week at our Northern Centre)
