• An understanding of how to reach different segments of the population with fundraising messaging, including young people;

As Head of Fundraising (HoF), you will provide strategic leadership and management to ensure the effective generation of charitable income for the organisation. Leading a team of five, with three direct reports, you will be responsible for driving and managing the charity’s key income streams – including Events, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partnerships, and Individual Giving – collectively generating approximately £1.6 million annually, which represents about 40% of the charity's total revenue.  This role is crucial to building the charity's long-term sustainability, with a focus on exploring innovative fundraising opportunities.

The Events and Activities Producer will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of social activities, events and services.

Pembroke House is a centre for community, creativity and collective action in Walworth. We work across two buildings in Walworth: Pembroke House and All Saints Hall. The Events and Activities Producer will be responsible for planning new activities, commissioning people to deliver them, coordinating logistics and developing a plan to monitor and evaluate them. Those activities will take place predominantly in the WLR, but may take place outside the hours it is open to the public or in our other building, Pembroke House. The role will also support other individuals and organisations to deliver activities. And it will hold overall responsibility for the schedule of all activities. The Nystagmus Network is seeking a Development Coordinator to help build on our core services and develop new ones to meet the growing and changing needs of the nystagmus community and to support income generation to ensure those services can continue to be funded. A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, health inequalities, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.

This postholder is the first contact for referrals made into a perinatal programme supporting migrant marginalised women who experience many barriers to accessing maternity care. The role requires excellent communication and the ability to be sensitive, patient and non-judgmental. Responsible for managing an empathetic, integrated and person centred experience for women referred for perinatal support.

Responsible for converting referrals into impactful support, keeping them informed by building rapport, sharing information about the project, providing resources and service details, maintaining ongoing effective communication as required, liaising with health professionals to ensure a joined up approach to service user wellbeing. Keeping referrers and project website up-to-date with service provision, documenting referral procedures and assisting with the sourcing and coordination of baby bundles for clients.

About the Role

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Making contact with women referred into the perinatal programme, using interpreters as required, sharing information about the service, answering questions and inviting them to attend scheduled groups where further support is offered.  Communicating with other team members for support as required.
• Liaising with local health professionals and referrers to maintain strong relationships and clear referral pathways, responding to referrals, keeping referrers up-to-date and ensuring they have a clear understanding of the programme and can make appropriate referrals.
• Ensure all referrals and actions are logged onto the case management software, maintaining activity on the system by regularly inputting data and updating client notes.
• Administrative tasks, including the monitoring of the project email inbox, keeping the project website up to date, managing shared spreadsheets ensuring they’re up-to-date and assisting with the sourcing and coordination of baby bundles for clients

You must have excellent communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily, providing non-judgmental, sensitive communication with clients, using patience and active listening skills. You must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
The role is 14 hours per week which will need to be worked over a minimum of three working days, one being either a Monday or Wednesday. This is largely a community-based role, working from a project office with some home working.

Head of Children and Young People’s Service

Sensory Services by Sight for Surrey has been established for over 100 years.  We enable and empower people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, blind, partially sighted, and deafblind to overcome barriers and to be as independent as possible. 

 An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Management Team, and lead our Children and Young People’s Service.  The service helps children, young people and families to thrive, by providing a variety of vibrant and impactful services including the Habilitation Service on behalf of the Local Authority.   

Principal accountabilities:

1. Provide overarching leadership, and management, to the Children and Young People’s Service (CYPS).  

2. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the Surrey County Council contract for Habilitation services ensuring that the Key Performance Indicators are met and reported on, in line with the contractual obligations, and that the contract is secured for the future.

3. Lead, in collaboration with the CYPS Operational Manager, the CYPS Service Facilitator and others, the delivery of outputs and outcomes of a number of grant funded services.

4. Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times, and to ensure appropriate risk assessments are conducted and maintained.

5. To be the designated Safeguarding Lead for Children and Young People for the charity, working closely with Surrey Safeguarding Children Partnership and other organisations such as Surrey Youth Focus, and internally with the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Adults.

6. To plan and manage the departmental budget for the Children and Young People’s Service, making best use of resources at all times to achieve maximum impact for the people we support across the organisation.

7. Regular reporting to Surrey County Council, Services Committee, Trustee Board, and funders as required.

8. Line management of the CYPS Operational Manager, the Children and Young People’s Service Facilitator, and a number of other direct reports.

9. Support and supervise the team of staff and volunteers to ensure that they perform and work to the agreed standards and in line with our organisational values.

10. Conduct annual appraisals and identify training needs within the team to meet all national standards. 

11. Work with the CYPS Operational Manager to succession plan, and manage the training and development of Trainee Habilitation Specialists to ensure the charity is well resourced.

12. Provide information, support and advice for children with vision impairment/ Multi-Sensory Impairment and their families /carers.

13. To develop the service to include children and young people who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf, and their families, working in partnership with other organisations to ensure we add value. 

14. To share responsibility for the Charity’s operational decision making with other senior managers.

15. To oversee the management and maintenance of the contract for Children’s statutory register of vision impairment.

16. To work in partnership with internal teams, such as fundraising and communications, to ensure the Children and Young People’s Service is well resourced, and always in line with the charity brand.

17. To develop and manage external partnerships as required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

 Desirable

• Graduate Diploma in Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification which specifically meets all the learning outcomes arising from the ‘Quality Standards – Delivery of Habilitation Training (Mobility and Independent Living Skills) for Children and Young People with Visual Impairment (2011)’: Qualification Participant Learning Outcomes.
• Registration with relevant professional body.
• First Aid Certificate (if the successful applicant does not already hold this, they will be required to complete it before starting in post)

About the Role 

We are now recruiting for an experienced Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to lead on planning and delivering Hibiscus’ work on racial and intersectional inequalities in the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. 

Development, research and report writing will be a key aspect of this role; the successful candidate will be responsible for drafting policy recommendations, reports, and consultation responses on issues related to Black and minoritised migrant women in contact with the Criminal Justice and Immigration systems. Supporting the Head of Policy and Public Affairs, they will engage and develop relationships with key political and parliamentary stakeholders, developing and delivering a variety of public affairs initiatives to inform decision-makers and influence policy in Criminal Justice, Immigration and Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sectors. The post holder will prepare press releases and statements to address prison and immigration reforms, identifying the gaps of adequate support for women, and will analyse external and internal quantitative and qualitative data relevant to our work.

As part of the role, the Policy and Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for raising awareness and creating content on the treatment of Black and minoritised migrant women within the Criminal Justice System. The post holder will identify opportunities for influence, monitor trends and developments, and prepare communications, reports and policy briefings to help ensure our work has an impact.

The post holder will also be responsible for leading Hibiscus’ partnership work on the Women’s Justice Reimagined project, advocating for the reimagination of the Criminal Justic System. They will build on Hibiscus’ policy work to raise our profile within advisory and working groups, creating alliances with other organisations in the sector and collaborating with other specialist and third-sector organisations to campaign for policy change and increase policy and decision-makers awareness of the issues Hibiscus works on.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience working in the UK political context to influence change, with demonstrable experience in developing and implementing public affairs strategies and building relationships with policy makers to inform decision making in government and across the Criminal Justice and Immigration sectors. 

The candidate will have knowledge and experience in collecting quantitative and qualitative research methods to produce evidence-based reports, press statements, and legislative policy briefings. They will have in-depth knowledge of UK legislation and government institutions related to Criminal Justice, VAWG and Immigration sectors and an ability to analyse government and public policy reports to provide accurate and accessible briefings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong self-awareness and ability to prioritise workloads whilst working collaboratively with colleagues.

They will demonstrate a commitment to Hibiscus's ethos aims and objectives, including having an intersectional and anti-racist approach to the work and a comprehensive understanding of one of more of Hibiscus’ key work areas.

Rainbow Migration, the longest-running charity in Europe dedicated to supporting LGBTQI+ people through the asylum and immigration system, is recruiting a Legal Officer to advise and help improve the representation of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and help change the asylum and immigration system to one that treats everyone with compassion, dignity and respect.

We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister with valid practising certificate, or already accredited to Level 3 OISC, with two years’ experience in providing advice and representation in asylum including working in legal aid.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the legal advice service. Under the guidance of our Legal Service Manager, you will also build capacity amongst legal representatives by designing and delivering training, giving second tier advice and developing and coordinating a network of practitioners working in this area. You will use the knowledge you gain in this role to help deliver Rainbow Migration’s policy work, such as inputting into policy papers and meeting with partner organisations when required.

We will also consider applications from people who do not want to do the policy elements of the job, but to instead focus on first and second tier advice. Please mention in your covering letter if you are applying for this option.

This is a unique opportunity to build on your experience as a lawyer to improve representation across the sector and create change in government policy and practice. You will be supported to develop as a specialist lawyer and in your policy skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Deliver one-off advice to adult LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and work with colleagues to refer them to quality legal aid and pro bono lawyers

· Provide casework assistance e.g. helping to prepare witness statements, making referrals to other specialist organisations and taking other urgent steps (whilst not representing service users or maintaining a caseload)

· Provide occasional advice (within competence) on other issues affecting asylum and partnership service users such as asylum support, legal aid, trafficking, family reunion or community care

· Deliver second tier advice to the legal representatives of LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum and other charities and professionals

· Work with the Legal Service Manager to design and deliver training to lawyers, NGOs and other professionals

· Write blogs and articles on asylum and immigration policy and legislation as they apply to LGBTQI+ people

· Contribute to policy and briefing papers

· Assist with preparing guidelines and briefings for legal services and pro bono lawyers

The Legal Officer will not be providing direct legal representation of service users. However, the role includes substantive advice and casework within the scope of legal support and referrals for our service users, as well as merits testing and second tier advice.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week). Working part-time or job-sharing will be considered. Occasional work in the evenings and at weekends may be required but with plenty of notice. Rainbow Migration encourages staff to maintain a good work life balance and has a TOIL system in place.

Salary: Starting at £40,175, with potential annual step increases up to £44,868 (pro-rata for part-time employees), plus statutory employer’s pension contribution. In addition to an annual step increase, the trustees consider giving a separate inflationary increase every April. 

Location: Remote or from Rainbow Migration’s offices in central London. Hybrid working will also be considered. The successful candidate could work from anywhere in the UK but would be expected to occasionally travel to London and other parts of the country for meetings and events. Role Overview:
The Volunteer Coordinator for WeSwim is a key role responsible for recruiting and onboarding volunteers to support all our activities and events, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for all. This role also supports the setup of new WeSwim clubs in London, raising profile in new areas and developing relationships with new stakeholders to promote the organisation. This position requires a strategic person with excellent marketing, communication and project management skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Volunteer recruitment & training: Develop and implement a marketing and outreach plan to  to attract new volunteers. Create marketing materials to advertise volunteer opportunities & use data to inform recruitment activity. Manage onboarding of volunteers including interviews, DBS and references. Organise and run induction sessions for new volunteers.
• Volunteer management & support: Maintain an up-to-date database of volunteers, including contact information, availability, and skills. Schedule and assign volunteers to sessions based on their availability & monitor attendance. Serve as the main point of contact for all volunteers, addressing enquiries and resolving any issues. Work with Club Committees (lead volunteers) to foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers, encouraging teamwork and community spirit.
• Marketing & Communications: Develop social media marketing and email communications to support recruitment and retention of volunteers in line with strategy.
• Setup of new swimming clubs: Scope & contact future pool partners, develop and deliver engagement plans to recruit new volunteers and swimmers to attend the club when it opens in partnership with WeSwim team. 
• Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders including: local authorities, community organisations, disability charities & sports clubs. Represent WeSwim at community events, meetings, and public engagements. Develop and implement strategies to increase the club’s visibility and reputation in the community.
