We work with people who are marginalised by society such as through their disability, gender, age, conflict or environment. We tackle the reasons for vulnerability and exclusion, building on the self-reliance and dignity secured through economic solutions to tackle stigma, discrimination and abuse of rights.

The successful Programme Manager will manage current programmes in Sierra Leone (working with a corporate on child labour and strengthening CBOs for more inclusive governance) and support the development of new programmes in Kenya and possibly Tanzania.   The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development of APT Action on Poverty.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your key responsibilities will be: supporting contract delivery and financial management, developing/maintaining donor relationships, seeking new partnerships and project opportunities, proposal development and applications to institutions.

Experience of living and working in East or West Africa, a track record in proposal development and applications to institutions, knowledge of livelihood development and rights based approaches are key areas for this role.

This is a remote role, we meet up once a month in Evesham.  We will also consider applicants who wish to work 80% FTE.

Job Purpose

This is an exciting time to join our small and impactful team, as we embark on a new four-year strategy, with goals to broaden and deepen our reach and impact, diversify our funding and delivery partnerships, and boost our programmes to support year 6 to 7 transition and tutor career development opportunities.

A major strategic priority is to grow geographically in priority areas and into new core cities - which this role will play a pivotal role in achieving. We began working outside of London during the pandemic when we moved our tuition online and we have continued to adapt and expand our programmes in the Midlands and the North. This is the first dedicated role outside of our London-based Programme Officer team, which will be working closely with the Head of Regions - Midlands and North (who is Manchester-based) to support the successful delivery of our contracts across these regions and to ensure we can continue to scale up and reach more pupils in target areas, where the attainment gaps are even starker than outside London.

The Programme Officer will be responsible for the management and overall delivery of their designated programmes. Over the next four years, we aim to scale our tutoring hubs to reach nearly 1,000 pupils per year in core cities and areas across England. This role will involve managing relationships with tutors, parents and clients, while collecting robust qualitative and
quantitative data to measure the impact and build the success of our work. This is a critical role, leading on the delivery and evaluation of multiple programmes, managing key stakeholder relationships, and contributing to the development of our tutoring programmes in our newer delivery regions.

The Programme Officer will ensure high levels of quality assurance, particularly among tutors working in their hubs, so we achieve our intended outcomes. This is a multifaceted role, working across all parts of the organisation to ensure we deliver the best possible results for our pupils.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education, has strong stakeholder management skills and is familiar with the Greater Manchester area and/or wider North-West region. You should be able to adapt your communication style to effectively engage with clients, parents, tutors, pupils and funders alike, and have strong written and verbal presentation skills. You will bring brilliant project management skills and be comfortable working with data and using it to make informed decisions.

About the Role

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

We are looking for a Fundraising Officer to join our small but dedicated team on a full-time employed basis. This is a flexible position needing someone determined to make a lasting difference in the world. You will also have fun as we work together, making an impact on the lives of the most deprived children in the world – those living in remote villages in Darfur, Sudan. You will generally work from home or remotely, but will need to visit our office in Dorking, Surrey, at least once or twice a month so will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance.

About the position

As Fundraising Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial sustainability by increasing and diversifying income streams to enable Kids for Kids to deliver its mission. In addition to volunteers in the UK we have a Friends of Kids for Kids in America and Australia.

The post holder will be responsible for raising funds for Kids for Kids from community fundraising, grants/ trusts and developing other key income streams including major donors, regular giving, legacy and corporate.

• Experienced, organised, self-motivated, accurate, enthusiastic, able to take initiative, and with good attention to detail.
• Effective communicator to all ages and levels, with excellent presentation, written and negotiation skills
• Develop and maintain effective relations with donors, supporters and volunteers, motivating them and ensuring they remain committed to Kids for Kids.
• Able to work independently and efficiently in your home, as well as with a small team

Desirable Skills:

• Social Media marketing – proficient in Google Analytics, Buffer, Linked In, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X with general knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation

Location & commitments:

Working Well Trust is a mental health and employment charity in London.  All of our projects share the aim of improving the lives of people with mental health support needs, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or complex issues through training and employment. This role will be working with clients who have mental or physical health support needs, wanting to gain paid employment.

We are recruiting an employment worker, with lived experience of mental health, to join our employment service in the London Borough of Enfield.

Experience of employment support is not essential, it is more important that you share our passion and commitment to supporting people to help people progress towards their employment goals. You will receive training in pre-employment and signposting, and in supporting people with mental health issues.  Ideally you will have experience of peer support and have a relevant qualification but we can arrange training if needed.

You need to have a desire to support people to achieve their employment goals, and the ability to multitask and manage your workload effectively. Good organisation skills are essential for this role, in addition to an interest in health, and the role it plays in the workplace. The successful candidate will need to have good organisational and research skills as you will be arranging training, accessing volunteering and work experience opportunities according to client action plans.

The role involves hybrid working and is for 35 hours per week.

You will work with clients (managing a caseload) who have mental health support needs, to assist them in progressing towards their employment goals. This role

Justice and Care is at an exciting moment with the imminent launch of a new ten-year strategy and we are looking to build a finance function to support this growth.

We are recruiting for an experienced Programme Finance Manager to manage and oversee the outworking of key financial processes at Justice & Care.  With a particular focus on support for our international projects funded by the US State Department and UK Government but with responsibilities also for our UK audit process and income/expenditure forecasting, this is a broad and varied role. 

This is a new role and will be line managed by the Finance Director but will work closely with in-country finance leads, programme teams, the Development team and wider global teams

• Working as part of a supportive and skilled team, you will be required to share in leading and further develop the GYM youth work service across Coventry and the surrounding area.

• You will spend a large proportion of your time working directly with young people in schools, colleges, youth clubs and outside areas as needed

• You will lead a range of different sporting and other activities and encourage and motivate young people to become involved in such.

• You will work closely with other colleagues across the GYM service, supporting identified needs and additional projects as required.

Key Responsibilities: 

• To work directly with children and young people, actively leading in a range of sporting and other activities while enabling effective personal and social development - The young people you work with will include those who are vulnerable, disengaged and hard to reach and those exhibiting challenging behaviour. 

• To lead with passion and enthusiasm, in different indoor and outdoor venues across the city.

• In discussion with GYM management to further develop this service, including additional sporting and other opportunities, trips and excursions, including residential as the service develops.

• To support the established GYM youth clubs in different locations and develop new as needed.

• To take part in the GYM outreach service, including driving the youth bus as needed.

• To take part in the StepTogether service.

• To promote, lead and support involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme

• To visit and provide information to individuals, groups, schools, colleges, and other youth facilities, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and delivering training when required. 

• To be committed to achieving service outcomes and to systematically gather dataregarding these outcomes as required

• To assist with administration duties, data collection, monitoring and evaluation and Professional Youth Mentor (Outreach) 

• To assist in fundraising initiatives.

• Any other duties as determined by GYM management from time to time. 

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is required. You will be required to travel across Coventry and beyond and may need to visit locations not easily accessible by public transport. You will also be required to drive and manage the youth bus as needed (non HGV)

The role will be a stimulating and inspiring opportunity for an experienced equality and discrimination lawyer to work pro actively and strategically to use the law as a tool for change. 

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO. 

About You-
We are looking for someone who is excited about being part of a team that will build a legal service and who can work with Black communities and be guided by them. 
You will also be able to demonstrate that you are aware that Black communities are not homogeneous and you will bring this understanding to the way that you approach your work and interact with clients, our partners and community organisations. 

Your qualities will include an understanding that intersectionality is relevant in all that we do at BEO and that your assessment of how we use the law will be seen through that lens. 

You will be someone who has lived experience of or insight and comprehension of the impact of racism on all aspects of the lives of members of Black communities.

ACT (or Aldates Community Transformation Initiatives) is a welcoming community that includes many with lived experience of prison, street homelessness or addiction. Through street and prison outreach, community meals, mentoring and housing, we help people rebuild their lives after some of life’s toughest experiences.

Everything we do is designed to help people find belonging, purpose and hope. That looks different for each person. But most of our activities are rooted in relationship – whether that’s bacon butty breakfasts, small group sessions, back-to-work projects or our annual holiday.

ACT is a registered charity with the board of trustees drawn from within the church, including the Rector. Occasionally we invite other trustees with specific expertise. ACT has a total income of around £400,000 per annum, five salaried staff, and over 100 volunteers from within the church. Staff are employed by St Aldates PCC and seconded to the ACT Charity with the Head of Charity line managed by the St Aldates COO.

ACT has a strong connection with St Aldates Church which supports the ministry with people, practical support and use of office and gathering spaces. The Head of Charity is key to leading the outreach work of St Aldates.

As a city centre church, working alongside people who are poor or marginalised is a key part of St Aldates’ ministry and is carried out largely through ACT.

We are seeing people come to faith in Jesus on a weekly basis, and we are pioneering new ways of discipling people to make a difference in every area of their lives. We are passionate about connecting with and supporting people who are street homeless and those in or leaving local prisons through our ACT ministry. 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Crucial to the success of ACT is the Head of Charity, who provides leadership and vision, ensures that its activities are underpinned by prayer, and that this work remains central to the ministry of St Aldates.

As the Head of Charity, you will drive the charity's mission and vision alongside the Board, ensuring our community receives the best possible support.

You will have a heart for those who have been marginalised, and experience of running a business or charity. Your role will be to lead staff and volunteers in the vision and manage funds and key projects. Partnering with others across other charities, key stakeholders and donors you will become a strong ambassador for the charity.
