About the role:

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. We are a small dynamic team and which takes pride in our forward-thinking and transparent approach and we're seeking a new Programme Manager for current and new work in Sierra Leone and Kenya.

We work with people who are marginalised by society such as through their disability, gender, age, conflict or environment. We tackle the reasons for vulnerability and exclusion, building on the self-reliance and dignity secured through economic solutions to tackle stigma, discrimination and abuse of rights.

The successful Programme Manager will manage current programmes in Sierra Leone (working with a corporate on child labour and strengthening CBOs for more inclusive governance) and support the development of new programmes in Kenya and possibly Tanzania.   The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development of APT Action on Poverty.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your key responsibilities will be: supporting contract delivery and financial management, developing/maintaining donor relationships, seeking new partnerships and project opportunities, proposal development and applications to institutions.

Experience of living and working in East or West Africa, a track record in proposal development and applications to institutions, knowledge of livelihood development and rights based approaches are key areas for this role.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: Head of Support and Care (Registered Manager)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm

NB Service Coordinators are required to balance management administration with being present in the group's houses. This necessitates some occasional evening and weekend work to be agreed with their line manager.

Salary: £35,000 per annum (with an increment in the second year)
Place of work: L’Arche London community houses and office (all within a walking distance, based in West Norwood, London)

Main purpose of the role:

- To lead and manage the Oak Group, one of three groups in the L'Arche London community, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants.
- To lead the service delivery within this group in line with L'Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC].
- To play an active role in the leadership of L'Arche London, helping shape a vibrant community of people with and without learning disabilities.

Leadership and People Management:

- Supervise and work with the Deputy Service Coordinator to lead a team of 15 Support Assistants. Ensure each assistant in the group is regularly supervised, trained, and appraised, and that action is taken to effectively manage performance issues.
- Understand the requirements of the CQC and other relevant legislation and ensure that all applicable standards are met including adult safeguarding.
- As part of the Community Coordinating Team, implement appropriate policies and procedures, promoting the wider L'Arche mission, vision and values.
- Be on the On-Call rota every 6 - 8 weeks, with flexibility as service requires. (Additional pay provided.)
- Contribute to the recruitment/ interviewing of Assistants.
- Provision of Support to People with Learning Disabilities
- Ensure the provision of high quality personalised support for each person with a learning disability in the Oak group, implementing Person Centred Support Plans to maximise independence, personal choice, and autonomy.
- Enable each person with learning disabilities to feel at home, encouraging both individuality and belonging, ensuring that everyone is informed of their rights and responsibilities as a member of the Community group and as a tenant.
- Support each person to manage various aspects of their life, from their personal budgets to their health and well-being.
- On occasion, provide one-to-one support to people with learning disabilities at home or in the community.

Administration and Management

- Maintain high standards of communication and record keeping, ensuring an effective flow of information within the Group, with the rest of L'Arche London, the local community, family and professionals.
- Work closely with the Deputy Service Coordinator to oversee the work rota.

Creating Community

- Attend and organise Community events and celebrations relevant to the role and foster a sense of welcome for all visitors and friends; ensure a regular rhythm of prayer and reflection in accordance with the traditions of L’Arche.

General

- Attend training and personal development courses as required.
- Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post which may be required from time to time.

What We Offer

This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.

There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.

All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.

Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).
Service Coordinators will be provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for QCF qualifications in social care and leadership development through L'Arche in the UK's leadership development programme.

• To deliver the Sarcoma UK Support Line, a confidential telephone and email support and information service for anyone affected by sarcoma. This includes:
  • Providing individual information and support to service users on sarcoma and related issues, by telephone, email and other media as the service develops.

• To contribute sarcoma knowledge and clinical expertise across all the charity’s programmes.

Maintain Professional Knowledge

• Keep up to date with treatment and care of sarcoma through research and review of publications, horizon scanning, and attending study days and conferences, and disseminate this information within the charity.
• Adhere to the standards of good practice outlined in the AHP / NMC professional code of conduct, or relevant professional body’s standards.
• Maintain professional registration and compliance with revalidation requirements ensuring ongoing clinical education and professional development.
• Attend mandatory clinical supervision sessions.

External Relationships

• To maintain positive relationships with key Sarcoma UK stakeholders including sarcoma patients, family members/carers and support group leaders.
• To develop and maintain contact with sarcoma specialist healthcare professionals, including clinicians, specialist nurses and allied health professionals who have reviewed our information materials.

Other

• To support new work within the information and support team. 
• The role will require some travel to meetings and events throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.
• Attend Sarcoma UK events and take part in Sarcoma UK’s wider work.
• Occasional weekend or evening work may also be required and time off in lieu will be given.
• The post holder will be working in a developing environment and will therefore be required to undertake other appropriate duties as necessary for the efficient operation of Sarcoma UK.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Shop Supervisor to make a difference and deliver positive social impact in the local community while also raising money to fund Crisis’ work ending homelessness. 

As a Shop Supervisor, you will support the Shop Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will play a key role in delivering customer service and supporting volunteers, as well maintaining the look and feel of the shop and processing stock. You will work towards ambitious sales and training targets, maximising the impact on our mission to end homelessness.

This is a unique retail opportunity where you will also be involved in delivering on the job training for Crisis members, supporting them to gain the skills and confidence needed in the workplace. You will work collaboratively with your team and will have opportunities to build your own skills and career progression through training and development.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have significant retail or customer service experience alongside a genuine interest in charity retail. You will be seeking a challenge that stands out from other retail roles and will be looking to build a career in this sector.  You will be committed to Crisis’s values and mission to end homelessness.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team. This role is to support the Head of Finance in all aspects of financial management of YMCA North Tyneside and the subsidiary Patterdale Hall Estates Ltd (PHEL), including invoicing, payroll, Gift Aid, Housing Benefit, bookkeeping, reconciliations and financial reporting.

About you:

The right candidate will be self-motivated, organised, accurate and methodical in their approach, with experience and an excellent working knowledge of Xero or similar accounting software. You will also support the Company with financial policy, procedure and process compliance.

To be successful, it is essential that you have experience as a qualified accountant. Ideally you will have experience with business improvement projects and will have worked within a similar organisation or charity, however neither are essential. You will have experience working in a high volume transaction environment and be an excellent communicator both verbally and writing. You will need the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines, along with being familiar with accounting terminology, procedures and processes. Experience supervising and developing junior team members is also desirable.

Job Description:

•     Responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts
•     Manage the preparation of the statutory accounts

Prospectus is excited to be working with Jewish Care to help them recruit a Senior Events Lead to join their fundraising team. Jewish Care is the largest provider of health and social care services for the Jewish community in the UK. Every week, they touch the lives of 10,000 people.

This role is offered on a full-time permanent basis paying between £32,000 to £40,000 per annum working a minimum of 3 days a week from their London office in Golders Green and the rest from home.

A key role within the Events team the post holder, working to an agreed target, will generate income via a portfolio of specific events and fundraising projects. Success will be achieved through engagement with  existing and new supporters and the development of relationships with volunteer committees, maximising their fundraising potential for the benefit of Jewish Care. This role is also responsible for the management and growth of the Community Fundraising Portfolio.

Jewish Care are looking for someone with experience of implementing and managing a variety of fundraising or corporate events. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of UK fundraising or relevant experience in income generation through consumer-focused sales and marketing activity with demonstrable success at delivering to and beyond targets.
