We have a unique opportunity for a Local Engagement Officer to join the Foodbank Team as part of our organising and local mobilisation strategy. This role will create real impact in Waterloo by identifying local issues driving poverty, and developing a strategy to build influence and win change.

Waterloo Foodbank (a part of the Lambeth Foodbanks Partnership) provides emergency food support to individuals and families in our community who are struggling with the cost-of-living and acute financial crises. This role will support our strategic anti-poverty work as part of our vision to end the need for foodbanks in Waterloo.

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

· To explore and understand the experiences that are bringing people to need the foodbank’s support, working with a variety of local stakeholders including foodbank clients

· To develop and manage a team of volunteers with the aim of identifying a local issue and campaigning for change

· To develop strategic relationships with key partners of Waterloo Foodbank

· To feed into our wider strategic work including our 3-year participation targets and strategic communications

· To work and engage with the Trussell Trust’s Organising and Local Mobilisation team, and their central campaign activities

· To represent the vision, mission, and values of Waterloo Foodbank and of Oasis Hub Waterloo

The successful post holder must have:

· Good standard of basic education, including English and Maths Level 2

· Experience facilitating groups and organising engaging group activities

· Experience managing and working with volunteers

· Good project management skills, able to balance a range of priorities.

What the job involves

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Fundraising professional to join our Individual Giving Team, focussing on our mid value programme and assisting with the production and development of campaigns aimed specifically for this audience. This role will be a fixed term contract for 13 months covering maternity leave.

Direct Marketing plays an important role in the organisation’s fundraising and overall corporate strategy, and we have seen a fantastic growth in our mid-value programme to date. We’re looking for a confident and proactive fundraiser to take responsibility for the delivery and development of this new audience and further shape the programme.

As a Direct Marketing Executive, you’ll use a range of channel content to reach and meet the needs of your audience and tailor your approach based on audience insight.

You’ll deliver timely, targeted, relevant communications to warm mid value audience, to engage them wider with the work of Prostate Cancer UK with the overall aim to increase their life-time value.

With internal and external stakeholders, you’ll project manage direct marketing campaigns in the form of seasonal appeals, email updates, and occasional stewardship events. You’ll consistently review KPIs and make evidence-based choices to help assist with growing the programme and delivering our overall financial target.

What we want from you

Excellent knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment is vital, you’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and/or experience of stewarding donors by understanding the importance of meeting their needs.

You’ll possess first class communication skills; a strong team ethic and you will be at ease working with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels. The ability to manage expenditure budgets and projects is also essential, along with proven knowledge of data protection and sector compliance. Knowledge of direct marketing and fundraising law would be advantageous as well as philanthropy experience.

We are looking for an exceptional and proactive Philanthropy Officer to join our growing Philanthropy Fundraising Team here at Acorns Children’s Hospice

About the Role

Caring for a child with complex medical needs can place unimaginable demands on a family, both physically and emotionally. At Acorns Children’s Hospice, we understand that when time is short every moment is precious, which is why, as well as providing specialist palliative care, we help families to make lasting memories. We need to raise more than £11 million each year to run and support our care services and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our local community. 

Acorns is currently in a time of transformation and change, from the way our care service looks to how we’re investing in our teams, including fundraising, to drive our care services and provision forward.  Reporting into the Philanthropy Manager, you’ll be working with a small but dedicated team united by the same vision. You will be responsible for supporting the stewardship of our major donors, our Celebrity Ambassadors and the development of our new Pioneering Appeal Board which is launching in 2025.   We are looking for someone with experience within this area of fundraising, who is looking to take that next step up, and is passionate about building qualitative relationships.   

The role will incorporate the planning, creation and implementation of high level networking, engaging and fundraising events.  So experience of event delivery and ability to work on your own initiative is essential.

We are currently creating our new strategy for 2025 onwards, with a keen focus on becoming known as a fundraising organisation, creating more collaborative working and buy-in across the organisation to help us achieve our fundraising goals with ‘one team’ ethic.

About You

• Experience of fundraising in the charity sector, preferable within the philanthropy fundraising arena
• Understanding of how major donor relationships are developed and providing outstanding stewardship
• Experience of planning and managing donor cultivation and stewardship events
• Use of CRM databases such as Donorfy, Donorflex, Raisers Edge
• Ability to create compelling cases for support, showcasing excellent written and verbal skills

Creative, with an understanding of the humanitarian sector, as well as what motivates people’s desire to give, you will be able to use this knowledge and experience to engage with trusts and foundations, churches and Medair UK’s alumni network. 

Key Activity Areas  

Trusts and Foundations  

• Working with the Grants Engagement Manager be responsible for all aspects of the application process for small and medium -sized grants from trusts and foundations in support of Medair’s work, growing financial support from your portfolio of trusts as a result. 

• Ensuring all applications are prepared and submitted in a timely fashion in line with Medair UK’s trust application pipeline and all application details are logged on Medair UK’s CRM Salesforce. 

• Ensuring all grants from trusts and foundations are correctly allocated to Medair programmes, with the appropriate grant card on Medair’s project management platform, and all grants from trusts and foundations are acknowledged correctly and in a timely fashion. 

• Ensuring new potential grant making donors are identified and approached to fund Medair’s work. Supporting the team with prospect research and moving relationships through our donor cycle.  

Church Liaison – Profile raising and Fundraising  

• Working alongside the Church Engagement Manager grow the number of churches engaging in the mission of Medair through giving, prayer and awareness raising.

• Strengthen Medair UK’s engagement with churches by developing profile raising resources and ensuring all fundraising appeals are designed and delivered to maximise church take-up.

• Co-ordinate all requests for speakers in Churches ensuring that, wherever possible, a Medair UK staff member or Alumni, is available to speak and well briefed.

• Be responsible for the receipting and acknowledgement of all financial support from churches. Maintain and update key contact details for each supporting church on Medair UK’s CRM 

Alumni Support 

• Oversee the Medair UK alumni network. Prepare, manage and disseminate all Medair UK communications to the UK based members of the Alumni network. 

• Administer the fundraising engagement with the alumni network in the UK, through the dissemination of fundraising assets, and monitor the effectiveness of this engagement in terms of fundraising performance. 

• Work with the alumni network to develop relationships with churches with a view to generating financial support and acquisition of new individual donors. 

• Maintain accurate and current records about alumni on Medair UK’s CRM and various other communication platforms, for instance Campaign Monitor. 

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an early career development professional to support the launch of our new fundraising campaign which will take place during our anniversary year of 100 years at Queen’s Road. A fundamental part of this remit is to be actively involved in creating and delivering engagement activities during that year as well as helping to create a sustainable culture of philanthropy. Due to this there will be additional events that the post holder will have to attend.  Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer will be responsible for managing the school’s data platform, helping organise events and communications, supporting the development function in its donor relations, development services and stewardship. 

The successful candidate will possess relevant experience, be proactive and have an excellent work ethic. The successful candidate will be able to manage a dynamic workload and work with a variety of people within the Albyn community. The Development Officer will be supported fully in their career and professional development within a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

These include, but are not limited to:

• Run data segmentation for mailings and undertake mass mailings from the database.

• Upload annual data for new entries to the development database. 

• Manage data integrity, ensuring compliance with GDPR by maintaining communication preferences and recording changes.

• Promote opportunities to boost the number of contactable constituents including online research 

• Use the database to identify prospects.

• Provide all data support and reporting required by the Director of Development.

• Work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure rigorous gift management administration processes, including Gift Aid information records. 

• Ensure that pledges, donations and regular giving commitments are recorded and processed correctly in the database and that all follow-up actions are undertaken. 

• Work with external stakeholders, volunteers, and other supporters to maximise relationships and networks.

• Support donor stewardship and fundraising events with guest lists, invitations, RSVPs, event management and attending events when required.

• Support in arranging alumni visits and tours to the School.

• Carry out other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Director of Development.

• Support the delivery of the School’s charitable vision, by attending events and presentations and acting as a strong ambassador for Albyn.

Qualifications & Experience

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

• A demonstrable understanding of data management and leveraging information stored on a database.

• Proven communication and project management skills, particularly event management.

• The ability to write and verbally communicate messages that are clear and concise.

• The ability to take a proactive approach to the work in support of the long term philanthropic aims of the School.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Challenge Events Team at Dementia UK, where you will help coordinate the day-to-day activities of the team, providing crucial administrative support and helping to deliver excellent supporter experiences.

As the Challenge Events Assistant, you will act as the first point of contact for challenge event supporters, responding to enquiries within agreed timeframes and ensuring an excellent stewardship to motivate, recognise and reward fundraisers to encourage their long-term support.
