About us

Who we are

West Kent Mind is an independent charity affiliated to Mind. We are a passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated team with a big heart. Supporting people to Get Well, Stay Well and to Thrive is what motivates us day in and day out. We deliver high quality, informed and responsive services and are committed to excellence. We are here to ensure that people with mental health issues get support and respect through inclusive, engaging services that are designed to enable our local community to flourish and thrive. But we can’t do that alone. Our local community is everything to us. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our clients, stakeholders, partners, funders, local schools, colleges, businesses and the local authorities to achieve our ambition to enrich people’s lives through better mental wellbeing.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

In building diversity we build strength. We encourage everyone with the right skills to apply so that we can build a more diverse and representative team. This is really important to us.

At West Kent Mind we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, guided by our core values:

Inclusive: We promote a culture where diversity is celebrated, recognising the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and identities that enrich our community.

Heart: Our approach is infused with compassion, ensuring that everyone is met with empathy and understanding throughout their mental health journey.

Support: We provide a foundation of support, fostering a sense of belonging and resilience.

Respect: We honour and respect the worth and dignity of every person.

Commitment: Our dedication extends to action as we work tirelessly to create an inclusive space where everyone feels valued, heard, and empowered.

Thrive: We aspire to go beyond recovery, actively fostering an environment that encourages people to continue past their challenges and flourish in their mental health and wellbeing.

We strive to create a community that reflects the diversity of West Kent, where equity is championed and inclusion is a shared commitment by all of us.
