Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hate Crime Reporting Coordinator. As Hate Crimes are still under reported, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Hate Crime in Barnet and working on a multi-agency basis to coordinate community awareness raising events, ensuring residents, statutory and voluntary organisations, and others are informed about Hate Crime and know how to report it.

This role requires community engagement, delivering staff training workshops, monitoring and reporting hate crime data, and a commitment to a victim-centred approach.

The post is funded by MOPAC

Key Responsibilities:

· Engage with residents and diverse communities, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ groups, and Gypsy Roma Traveller groups to raise awareness about reporting hate crime.

· Coordinate communications and community events to raise awareness of Hate Crime and encourage reporting.

· Organise and conduct workshops and forums for diverse community groups.

· Train staff and volunteers to identify hate crime and support clients to report incidents to the Police.

· Monitor national and local hate crime data, including incidents recorded by Barnet Hate Crime Reporting Centres and produce quarterly reports of the work to tackle Hate crime in Barnet

· Support victims to report hate crimes and incidents to the Police and signpost to relevant support organisations.

· Support Barnet’s network of Hate Crime Reporting Centres including co-ordinated communications and staff training.

· Develop Barnet’s Safe Places Scheme for people with learning disabilities, autistic adults and adults-at-risk.

THE ROLE

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for leading the London team’s overall fundraising strategy and activities. The role requires the postholder to motivate and support their team, and ensure regional and individual fundraising targets are met, in alignment with Islamic Help’s fundraising strategy. This position involves bringing new fundraising opportunities as well as enhancing relationships with existing supporters and donors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with Islamic Help’s objectives and growth plans.
• Identify and prioritise key fundraising programmes and initiatives in collaboration with the Head of Fundraising.
• Lead the fundraising team, providing direction, support, and professional development to ensure high performance and achievement of targets.
• Oversee the planning and execution of large-scale fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives such as tours, treks, lectures, and dinners.
• Innovate and introduce new fundraising approaches and techniques to enhance donor engagement and increase revenue.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and key stakeholders to secure funding and support.
• Develop tailored proposals and presentations for high-value donors and strategic partners.
• Ensure consistent communication and follow-up with donors, providing regular updates and impact reports.
• Foster a positive and motivating environment for volunteers, recognising and rewarding their contributions.
• Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising income, pledges, and donor interactions.
• Prepare detailed reports on fundraising performance, including financial outcomes and impact metrics.
• Identify and establish local, national, and international partnerships for joint fundraising initiatives.
• Expand Islamic Help’s capabilities through strategic collaborations, increasing access to expertise, skills, and donor bases.

About the role:

We are looking for an organised and proactive Project Administrator to join our team. You will provide essential administrative support to the Project Lead. Primarily focused on East Cheshire NHS Trust, you will assist in the running of our volunteer management contracts by recruiting and liaising with volunteers and other relevant stakeholders, coordinating day to day cover of volunteers and supporting with volunteer events.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. • Represent BelEve at events, meetings, and conferences to raise awareness of the mentoring programme and recruit participants.

Safeguarding

• Act as the Deputy Deputy Safeguarding Lead (DDSL)
• Collaborate with the Safeguarding Lead to review, update, and develop safeguarding policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
• Support the dissemination and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures throughout the mentoring programme.
• Provide support and guidance to staff, volunteers, and stakeholders on safeguarding-related matters, including responding to queries, concerns, and disclosures in a timely and appropriate manner.

Community Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with our community organisations, schools, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance collaboration and resource-sharing for youth development efforts.

Job purpose  

To support and deliver effective communications, including marketing and digital engagement activities, which raise awareness of Dementia Carers Count and foster connections with our community of carers, campaigners and donors. Your work will help us reach and support more carers, raise funds and campaign for changes which will ensure that no dementia carer feels isolated, invisible or alone.

Key responsibilities   

•Understand our cause, linked issues, and how these are publicly perceived 

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets 

•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. You will design and deliver paid advertising campaigns and monitor, respond, share, engage, comment on posts, according to our guidelines and with responsibility for reputation management 

•Share audience insights with colleagues to ensure effective stewardship of all our defined audiences 

•Support development of media relationships. You will curate press and media lists and respond to media queries, with shared out of hours responsibility.

•Draft statements and press releases and pitch ideas for articles and features, developing copy as needed and tracking coverage 

•Support user-led story telling as part of content creation, including interviewing carers about their experiences and identifying opportunities to share carers’ voices in our materials 

•Draft website copy and develop assets for digital use and printed materials which communicate our key messages and brand and which support specific campaigns 

•Review and monitor evaluation and reporting metrics to provide regular and campaign-based management information relating to the success of digital and media activity 

•Support effective cross-organisational internal communication 

•Adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations relating to marketing, digital and communications

The division has ambitious growth for our retail channels and our individual donor supporters in the next five years.

About the role:

This role is 12 months fixed term, home based, working 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Travel within England and Wales may be required.
