Development Officer
We want Bradninch Town Trust to be a flourishing, warm and sustainable part of the community in Bradninch. We are looking for someone who has the skills, experience and energy to support the Trustees in making this happen and to help secure the future of this important asset in our community.
It is important that the postholder is able to manage both the administrative and the development aspects of the role, ensuring that the trust runs smoothly day to day and that it broadens its impact, welcoming new groups, events and users. This is an exciting role which offers significant responsibility and creative scope to the right person. The Development Officer reports to the volunteer Trustee Board via The Chair of the Trust, who is the line manager for this role.
About Bradninch Town Trust
Bradninch Town Trust is the name given to a collection of charities operating for the benefit of local people. Volunteer trustees manage properties on behalf of the people of Bradninch and these include The Guildhall, some residential buildings and some fields. The Guildhall is the largest public building in the town. It houses the Town Council Chamber and all rooms are available for hire.
Key responsibilities
1. Strategic Development

Identify and develop new opportunities to expand and diversify the Trust’s activities and services to meet the needs of the local community.

4. Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement

5. Administration of properties – including The Guildhall and 3 residential houses

Marketing and managing lettings for The Guildhall as a hireable venue, ensuring a high-quality experience for hirers.

Liaising with the Buildings Caretaker who has responsibility for cleaning and simple maintenance.

Being the first point of contact with permanent tenants, overseeing property management, liaising about issues that arise.
6. Operating charitable grant giving

Marketing and managing the grant giving policies of The Parochial Charities Trust.
7. Financial management and record keeping

Making payments, invoicing and operating an online accounting/bookkeeping systems (SAGE), and HMRC payroll.

Preparing monthly management accounts for Trustees.

Preparing annual accounts for the trustee board, external inspector and ultimately The Charities Commission and ensuring their timely submission.

Preparing annual income and expenditure budgets, in association with Trustees.

Arranging insurances and other compliances as required.
8. Facilitation of The Trustee Board

Together with The Chair, collate and distribute paperwork for meetings.

Make reports to trustees on the performance of budgets and property issues, ad hoc and at Trustee meetings.

Take minutes of Trustee meetings, record and circulate them.

Arrange the effective and safe online management and storage of Trustee Board documentation, ensuring access for trustees, (using Google Workspace).

The purpose of your role
We are looking for a personal assistant with some previous experience, who is keen to support Police Now’s mission of community transformation and culture change in policing, and to undertake a meaningful role supporting the executive leadership team in a busy, agile and ambitious organisation.
Police Now’s executive leadership team currently includes the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Programmes Director. Together, the Executive is responsible for the organisation’s overall health and success and is accountable to the board of trustees.
This role will work both independently and collaboratively to ensure that the executive team works efficiently and effectively. This will primarily be achieved via swift and thoughtful diary management, meeting support (for example, taking minutes of formal meetings and actions from informal ones), management of email inboxes, drafting and responding to correspondence, and similar administrative and support duties. Over time, there are opportunities to develop and add additional activities and responsibilities to the role.

Key responsibilities
- Board and board committee governance: be a point of contact for trustees, partners and other external stakeholders and plan and coordinate board meetings, sub-committees, and the senior leadership team meetings. This includes ensuring papers are circulated in advance, meeting room bookings, attending meetings and producing timely, concise and accurate minutes and actions. You will work with the Company Secretary to update our records on Companies House and the Charities Commission to ensure that Police Now is always compliant as well as manage and maintain databases and systems relating to governance.
- Executive team diary management: support the executive team with day-to-day diary management to help ensure that they are effectively utilising their time in the most impactful ways. This includes arranging and coordinating meetings, booking rooms in our London office, arranging travel and accommodation when required and in some cases, sourcing an external venue while being cost effective, all while ensuring that digital infrastructure is available to support hybrid working.
- Financial processing: you will process invoices relating to the executive through our financial system and reconcile the executive teams monthly credit card statements and personal expenses in a timely manner as well as occasionally process expenses for trustees and committee members.
- Project support: assist and support the Executive team and Strategy, Stakeholders and Governance Manager as needed with strategic projects and other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Inbox management: manage the general enquiries inbox and some individual executive inboxes to effectively direct queries and escalate risks as appropriate.

Existing formal partnerships include agreements with national ‘arm’s length’ bodies such as
Sport England and Natural England, and charities such as Independent Age. It includes line
management responsibilities for staff seconded by partners or employed directly by NASP,
to deliver partnership plans and priorities. The role includes the strategic leadership of multi
million-pound programmes reporting to government departments (for example working
closely with DEFRA to lead the Treasury-funded ‘Tackling and preventing mental ill health
through green social prescribing’ programme). Therefore, a focus on delivery and achieving
outputs and outcomes is just as important as strategic vision.
NASP also works internationally and there will be opportunities to travel regularly, for
example supporting our network of global contacts with events (most recently the Canadian
International Social Prescribing Conference).
The ideal candidate will be highly articulate, a persuasive public speaker, with a proven track
record of delivering complex high impact partnerships which make a measurable impact.
You will need to be comfortable advocating for social prescribing at the highest level; to
government ministers and officials, CEOs of large organisations and global partners such as
Movember, Amazon and the World Health Organization.

The BPNA has developed a number of educational programmes for doctors in the UK and overseas both online and face-to-face. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a respected and growing organisation, BPNA is looking for a highly motivated individual who can use their dedication, attention to detail and reliability to help us develop further. We are seeking to appoint a UK Short Course Administrator to join our small team which is based across our Bolton and London offices. This is a full-time, permanent post based in Bolton, working 37.5 hours a week (7.5 hours per day x 5 days per week). The Short Course Administrator will provide customer care as well as logistical and technical support to both online and face-to-face UK short courses.

This role would suit an organised, efficient and practical person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good deal of common sense. You will also have diplomatic skills and the ability to build good relationships. You will need to be flexible, have an ability to problem-solve on-site, provide online zoom support, set up equipment such as computers and data projectors, and to organise highly educated people whilst remaining calm and maintaining a sense of humour. We are looking for someone to join our team who will contribute to maintaining and developing our customer focused ethos.
While this role is primarily based in Bolton, there will be some UK travel with overnight stays to support in-person courses. We offer time off in lieu or overtime paid for additional hours worked.
