About us
Who we are
Police Now’s mission is to transform communities, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, and increase the public’s confidence in the police by recruiting, developing and inspiring outstanding and diverse leaders in policing. We are working towards a day when every community, whatever the socio-economic background of its residents, can thrive without being fearful of crime. We are looking for high-performing, committed, mission-aligned individuals who will actively contribute towards this goal.
Police Now trains graduates and career changers with leadership potential to become inspirational police officers and outstanding crime fighters on our National Graduate Leadership Programme and our National Detective Programme. Our officers are supported for life so they can confidently progress through policing ranks as innovative leaders. Our 115-strong not-for-profit organisation aims to create systemic change. We need highly capable impactful staff to support therecruitment and development of our officers and to cultivate strong relationships with partner forces and the wider sector.
The impact that Police Now participants, alumni and partners have is at the core of everything we do, underpinned by a commitment to evaluation and continuous improvement. To monitor progress against our Case for Change and develop our programmes using an evidence-based approach, we gather and analyse data covering attraction, recruitment, diversity and inclusion, participant experience, attitudes and progression. Despite the challenges of doing so, Police Now also analyses data on crime, anti-social behaviour (ASB) and public confidence in the police in the communities where Police Now participants are posted, working in partnership with independent researchers and academic partners.
This page shares some of the insights available from our evaluations and wider research to date. Whether you are new to Police Now or are familiar with our work, we hope this research provides further insight into our progress to date and shows how we are using evidence and feedback to drive improvements in our programmes and better understand the impact of Police Now participants and their colleagues.
Our culture and values
Police Now works with over 30 forces throughout England and Wales to find outstanding police officers and detectives. We select and recruit highly competent graduates to play an important role in supporting the nation’s police in their efforts to increase the number of officers across England and Wales.
Police Now is an independent social enterprise, supported by the Home Office. That means we’re an organisation that aims to bring about improvements in society rather than profits for our organisation.
Through our attraction, recruitment and innovative training programmes, we supply our partner police forces across England and Wales with the talented, driven graduates they need to drive results.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
It is important that Police Now’s workforce reflects the communities that we serve and are empowered to contribute their best. We are an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion in policing and our Head Office, and view workforce diversity as a business imperative. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life.
