What we are looking for:
- Experience of working with and managing volunteers
- Strong planning and operational service delivery skills
- An understanding of the needs of different communities, including people with protected characteristics

The successful candidate will support the delivery and coordination of the volunteer services including the management and supervision of volunteers, receiving referrals and matching volunteers with terminally ill people and/or their carers. Volunteer services could include our Companion Service; bereavement support; Advance Care Planning and supporting care homes, people with dementia and vulnerable groups.
The role will also be responsible for developing strong partnership networks with the community, community groups and organisations in the area in order to develop better end of life care for all.

We are working in partnership with The French Hospital, who provide Almshouse accommodation primarily for French Protestant Huguenot families who are in need and are resident in Great Britain, allowing residents to live full, dignified and independent lives.  The French Hospital is committed to ensuring that people in need can lead active lives in the local community with access to healthcare, leisure and education. The successful candidate will advise the Trustees on matters of governance to ensure compliance with current legislation and Charity Commission guidance.  You will arrange and attend Trustee Board and subcommittee meetings both preparing the agendas and taking accurate minutes, acting upon the decisions of the Trustees.  You will also be responsible for managing and reviewing the work of a small team, identifying any training needs and ensure their wellbeing.  Awareness of the welfare of residents overseeing community engagement and social activities, dealing with safeguarding issues, grievances and arrears, when required.  Oversee the repair and maintenance of all the Charity’s properties, engaging with commercial tenants and others as necessary.

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior leader with previous experience of leading a team, managing budgets and projects, multi-tasking and who has a passion for meeting housing needs.

East Sussex Transitional Housing is a low-support service, providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for 102 young people between the ages of 18-25 who have been, or are, at risk of homelessness. We have a small, supportive, and established team which manages 19 housing properties across, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our East Sussex Transitional team. You will be based at the YMCA office in Eastbourne but will be visiting our seven properties around Eastbourne each week, meeting with residents in their homes and at the office - main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing

• You will hold a caseload of young people who are housed across our sites with the support of the team.Support provided is light touch, and a good knowledge of partner agencies is essential for relevant signposting
• Interview young people to assess their suitability for our housing
• Support young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules in preparation for independent living.Helping young people navigate shared living skills is key to this role and includes facilitating house meetings, rotas and cleaning sessions
• Support young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent and liaise with housing benefit
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people
• Complete Occupancy Sign up and induction with incoming residents
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent, ASB or breaches of Health and Safety, using restorative practices
• Contribute to maintaining properties to a high standard including conducting health and safety checks

Support and Engagement

• Light touch support to residents, signposting to partner agencies as appropriate
• Support each resident to develop their own person-centred Support Plan with short- and long-term goals to work towards independent living skills and their next accommodation steps
• Arrange Review Meetings with young people at least once every 3 months to update and review risk assessments and support plans
• Check in with each resident at least once a week

Programme Officer

About the role:

This is an exciting and busy role with broad responsibilities across the programme and includes project management and administration.

A dynamic Disabled People's Organisation, driven by lived experience, seeks a highly skilled Senior Communications Officer to lead impactful campaign communications. You'll need a creative, compelling writing style, and be capable of translating complex information into accessible language for diverse audiences. We're looking for a great comms all-rounder who can manage content across multiple platforms, from social media to press releases, so you can ensure a consistent and powerful brand voice.  This role is also a great opportunity to use and develop your skills around strategic communication.

About the campaign

Our Campaign for Disability Justice, launched in September last year, is a vital initiative to tackle the systemic issues trapping over two million Disabled people in deep poverty. We address the root causes: inefficient social security regardless of employment status, barriers to employment for those capable of work, and a negative public discourse perpetuated by Government. The Campaign calls on Government to collaborate with Disabled People's Organisations to achieve these crucial changes.

Considering current Green Paper proposals and further benefit cuts announced in last month’s budget, our Campaign is has never been more needed.  Join us to help prevent further impoverishment of Disabled people, as we work to oppose these cuts.

Job Title: Central Clinical Administrator

This is an exciting new opportunity to join our administration team during a time of growth and development across the charity. The successful candidate will take a key role in ensuring our operations and administration processes run as smoothly and efficiently as possible through central administration cover and project work.

You will be joining a small, dedicated, administration team at James ’ Place and will regularly connect with the wider clinical and management teams. Whilst based within one of our centres, your work will cross-cover all our centres and teams, with some travelling to our other centres expected throughout the year. This role requires someone with both excellent organisational and people skills with the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a range of stakeholders including men in distress. Your administration skills will be vital, and you will be able to work with a broad range of IT, including shared Outlook inboxes and calendars. You will feel comfortable using the full Office 365 suite and have the necessary organisation skills to maintain the highest standards of record keeping. You will support the wider teams to deliver our effective intervention, therefore an ability to work collaboratively is essential. You will be able to work proactively and have a high level of attention to detail.

Supporting Families at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital

Since 2008, Citizens Advice Camden has provided a pioneering and well-regarded advice service at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) — the first of its kind in a UK children’s hospital. The service supports families of seriously ill and disabled children who are receiving treatment at GOSH, helping them navigate the life-changing socio-economic impacts of their child’s illness. We work closely with GOSH staff and partners — including social workers, family support officers, chaplains, and other stakeholders — to offer technical advice and casework that complements the hospital’s wider support services.

The issues families face can include reduced income, unsuitable housing, debt, and accessing benefits — especially during long or repeated hospital stays. Many families continue to receive our support over months or years, and our work is rooted in partnership, compassion, and a strong commitment to GOSH’s ‘One Team’ ethos.

The Role: Generalist Adviser/Caseworker

We are seeking an experienced adviser/caseworker to join the service. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, holistic advice and in-depth casework across a range of social welfare issues, with a strong focus on welfare benefits (including appeals) and housing, including complex and disrepair cases. You will provide tailored, long-term support to families, managing multi-issue caseloads with sensitivity and a commitment to empowering clients. Close collaboration with healthcare and support professionals at GOSH is essential to ensure integrated and effective service delivery. You will also contribute to research and campaigns by gathering social policy evidence and maintain accurate, detailed case records to support monitoring and evaluation.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience in advice and casework—particularly in welfare benefits and housing—along with confidence in using digital systems and tools for remote working. You should be proactive, well-organised, and capable of handling a demanding and emotionally complex workload. Strong communication skills are essential, as is an understanding of the social and economic challenges faced by families of seriously ill children. You must hold, or be able to provide evidence of meeting, MaPS accreditation at advice and casework level.

Being available onsite is an important aspect of this role and so this role is hybrid working. The exact split between remote/onsite working will be by agreement with the line manager and to meet the needs of the project, which could change over time.

Appointment to the role is subject to being granted GOSH honorary staff status, which includes full compliance with GOSH policies and training requirements, as well as a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

Horsham Y Centre provides 24-hour supported housing services offering medium levels of housing-related support for young people aged 16-25 with 50 bedspaces and shared communal facilities. We adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting our residents to help them build essential life skills, identify their goals and work towards aspirations so that they can move on to enjoy fully independent futures. We have a dedicated team of Support Workers, Night Workers and additional Bank Workers who provide support, guidance, and signposting around areas such as housing, budgeting, living skills, jobs, relationship building and wellbeing. Situated in the middle of Horsham, the service has strong links with and contributes to the local community.

We are looking for a Housing Night Worker to join our Horsham Y team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Safety and security

• Provide a friendly and professional front-of-house welcome to residents, visitors and staff, and ensure the building is safe, secure quiet and welcoming 
• Maximise the wellbeing of residents and visitors by ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols and house rules, all within the terms of tenancy agreements
• Assess and monitor the risks presented by residents to ensure they can keep themselves safe and, where possible, continue their development
• Record all incidents and accidents and share appropriately with the wider team, your manager and, if necessary, the central safeguarding team 

Engagement with residents

• Welcome residents home and provide informal and responsive support so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and acquire the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure resident’s views, aspirations, concerns, and ideas are sought so they can play an active role in influencing the services they receive
• Proactively promote the services on offer and ensure residents are encouraged to engage with those services
• Contribute to, or support, evening groupwork activities so that residents can access tailored solutions that meet their needs, wishes and aspirations

Administration and housekeeping

• Undertake tasks as directed, including but not limited to: inputting data, assessments, reviews, case notes onto our client database and entering new residents details/closing ex-resident records
• Completing health and safety/compliance checks, and recording estate inspectors and room checks
• Adding maintenance requests to our property services system

General

• Work as part of a team, on a rota four on four off shift pattern, alongside another Housing Night Worker, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective at night, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

You’ll also manage the Legacy Case Team inbox, supporting case handlers by allocating new cases in line with policy.
