Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Overseeing the fundraising team, including the Programme & Trust Officer who supports grant applications and reporting, and the Fundraising & Events Coordinator who supports individual giving, events, and trading.
• Managing the Communications Officer to provide information for PR, marketing, and promotion of fundraising activities, as well as to highlight Temwa’s work in Malawi.
• Growing and developing the current fundraising programme, with a focus on individual giving, institutional funding, as well as trust & foundations.
• Leading the expansion of corporate fundraising, particularly through the Carbon Balance Programme.
• Managing the daily operations of the UK fundraising office.
• Creating and updating the fundraising strategy, including planning and forecasting fundraising activities.

We have a highly skilled team of 30 full-time employees in Malawi implementing this work, based out of two offices in the Northern Region. Our UK office in Bristol comprises a small fundraising and operations team of seven staff (two team members are full-time, all other team members are part-time), 3-5 regular volunteers and interns, and a wider family of volunteers and supporters.

Temwa UK has an experienced and high functioning board of Trustees who are very engaged. The board member who oversees the fundraising portfolio is very active, providing support to the Fundraising & Development Manager and the fundraising team as a whole.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Managing the fundraising strategy and donor relations with oversight of the fundraising office

• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate the charity’s income generation strategy, ensuring targets are achieved.
• Align the fundraising strategy with the communications and marketing strategy.
• Act as the organizational expert on income generation, leading the team to expand all relevant fundraising streams.
• Maintain and enhance current income streams, including trust fundraising, corporate fundraising, high value donors, and individual giving.
• Maintain relationships with key donors and their specific requirements.
• Collaborate with the Programme Advisor and Programmes Director in Malawi to align community needs with donor priorities.
• Lead, research & review the opportunities to apply for institutional funding with the Programme Advisor.
• Manage donor relations and communication with the Managing Director, Programme Advisor, and UK fundraising team.
• Contribute to donor reporting and distribution donor reports, and ensure compliance to donor-relevant obligations with the Programme Advisor.
• The Fundraising & Development Manager will report directly to the MD and Board of Trustees.

2. Providing leadership to and managing the fundraising team

• Develop, coach, inspire, and motivate the team to achieve their objectives and grow their skills.
• Conduct regular one-to-ones with direct reports, ensuring effective performance management with timely appraisals.
• Ensure team members have clear work plans and objectives.
• Champion best practices in particular with use of the database, ensuring all legal and compliance standards are met and, where possible, exceeded in fundraising and marketing activities.
• Recruit key fundraising team members as needed.
• Support the fundraising team in designing and managing effective marketing and communications strategies.
• Facilitate effective internal and external communication, sharing information, successes, and best practices.

3. Growing income streams

• Lead and manage all fundraising areas in the UK office, ensuring targets are met.
• Develop and manage comprehensive budgets, providing performance information to the Senior Management Team and Trustees.
• Ensure effective management of the donor journey for all contacts.
• Research and develop business cases for new income generation areas to drive sustainability.
• Implement and evaluate new income generation projects.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with significant supporters, making effective asks to maximize income.
• Adhere to best practices and embed a culture of learning within the organization.
• Develop and implement a strategy to increase corporate fundraising through the Temwa Carbon Balance Programme.
• Grow and develop SME and corporate partnerships with support from the Managing Director and Fundraising Trustee.
• Develop and implement a strategy to increase corporate funding, individual giving, institutional funding and trust & foundation funding.
• Lead on all grant applications, including trust & foundation and institutional. 
• Manage individual giving campaigns and online activities with support from the fundraising team.
• Source individual stories and images, brief internal and external teams, and write copy as needed.
• Ensure adherence to the individual giving strategy to increase income in this area. ?

4. Senior management

• Collaborate with the management team to reach key audiences and achieve strategic goals.
• Provide strategic direction for fundraising and communications, nurturing team members to develop their skills.
• Ensure all parts of the organization understand income generation and fundraising.
• Represent the charity externally.
• Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and Trustees.
• Play an active role in updating the organization’s strategic plan and shaping the charity's future direction.

· Serve as the deputy to the Managing Director when the MD is in Malawi or on annual leave.

5. Policies and procedures

• Develop and improve relevant policies for the organization.
• Evaluate and suggest improvements for systems used to support fundraising
• Create procedures to enhance the efficiency of fundraising activities.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

The ideal applicant would have the following attributes

· Experience of working in a senior fundraising role

· Certificate or diploma from the Institue of Fundraising or similar

· Track record of setting and achieving fundraising income targets

· Experience of managing people

· Experience of working within small and large NGOs or charities

· Ability to write compelling bids/business cases and reports

· An understanding of trust fundraising

· Excellent written communication and IT skills

The Place exists to develop, nurture and celebrate dance ideas and experiences for all. People will flock to watch and enjoy dance in our theatre, on tour or online, study dance with some 250 of the most diverse and extraordinary dance artists at London Contemporary Dance School, or with other young people in our Centre for Advanced Training.

Our Development Team deliver transformational change in fundraising activities in order to support The Place to achieve it’s unprecedented vision for a 'world with more dance'. The Development Manager position is a key part of the team. Working with the Director of Development to meet the annual fundraising targets.

This is an open-ended permanent contract. This is a full-time position (equivalent to 40 hours per week). These hours are inclusive of a one-hour paid lunch break each day. Your hours of work will be agreed with the line manager.

Some of this post holder's key responsibilities will be to:

• Identify a pipeline of prospects to support the organisations artistic and education activities.
• Lead the development and delivery of creative and compelling cases for support from individuals as well as tailored cultivation plans.
• Design and deliver a schedule of innovative donor cultivation and stewarding events.
• Undertake appropriate research and networking to identify opportunities to fund activities across the organisation.
• Support on the cultivation and stewardship of Corporate supporters.
• Take ownership of relevant development enquiries (via post, email, website etc.) ensuring follow up is actioned as required.
• Work with the Communications department to produce material to facilitate fundraising activity and regularly update the website.
• Attend events and performances at The Place as appropriate/required.
• Keep up to date with current and future trends affecting philanthropy and donor recruitment, making recommendations that will inform our approach.

The role

As a Community Coordinator Assistant for FareShare, your primary responsibility will be to manage and sustain the Community Food Membership (CFM) programme. Your goal will be to maximize relationships and add value to create the best experience for our charity partners. To excel in this role, you must be an exceptional communicator with an approachable nature, capable of securing, developing, and maintaining relationships with charities, and raising awareness of FareShare Merseyside and North Wales (FSM&NW) across the region.

The Community Coordinator Assistant will require a full clean driving licence, have access to a vehicle and be competent and confident traveling independently as they will be traveling across our region. Which consists of, Wirral, Knowsley, Sefton, Halton, Cheshire East and North Wales.

This role is vital in ensuring the success and sustainability of the FareShare Community Food Membership programme by fostering strong, supportive relationships with our charity partners and making a positive impact across the region.

Main areas of responsibility

The Community Coordinator Assistant will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of Community Food Members (CFMs) within the designated region. This role requires close collaboration with the Regional Manager, the Finance team, and Head Office. The Community Coordinator Assistant is expected to meet recruitment and retention targets, produce comprehensive reports, and ensure all requirements of funders are met.

• Organised, reliable and with a high attention to detail. 
• Some experience with customer relationships management systems.
• Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel and Word are essential.
• Strong numeracy.
• Ability to prioritise and multi-task as required.

About Us

Barnham and Eastergate Community Trust is a Charitable Incorporate Organisation (CIO). We are searching for a Partnerships Manager (Maternity Cover) to join Jamie’s Farm’s HQ team, working across an exciting and growing charity. You will play an important part in facilitating the further growth of the charity, forming new partnerships and thereby enabling thousands more young people to benefit from our support. This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave.

This job will be based at our gorgeous Bath Farm, which also acts as the charity’s HQ. The successful candidate will need to be at the Bath Farm at least two days a week. This role will involve regular travel in order to build connections with potential partners and to develop relationships with all of our farms. It will also involve attendance at conferences and events, to help raise our profile. 

About Jamie’s Farm

Jamie’s Farm is a charity which helps young people to flourish at home, in education and in the community through an intensive weeklong immersion in rural life. During a busy residential stay, young people help us run large working livestock farms and tackle many challenging and unfamiliar jobs, designed to offer everyone an opportunity for achievement, thereby building their self-esteem and confidence. They live in a supportive family environment that encourages them to push themselves out of their comfort zone. Our therapeutic input makes use of individual and group sessions to allow children to reflect on their lives on the farm and back home, to draw out tangible strategies for improvements to be realised when they return home.

Our programme is shown to have long term positive impacts on the lives of the young people we support. At the end of their visit, 66% of all young people showed improved mental wellbeing. Six weeks after their visit, of those with concerning attendance, 67% were no longer of concern. Six months after their visit, of those previously at risk of permanent exclusion, 64% were no longer at risk. These dramatic changes are only possible through the combined efforts of the entire Jamie’s Farm team.

Partnerships Manager Role 

Jamie’s Farm is quickly growing to help meet the increasing needs of young people from around the UK. The legacy of the pandemic, increasing mental health challenges and the cost-of-living crisis are all causing more children than ever to need the support of programmes like ours. Our existing farms are all full to capacity and booked many months ahead. As part of our strategic plan, we wish to grow our capacity and expand our geographical presence so that we can help more children, from more communities, during the second decade of Jamie’s Farm’s history. 

The Partnerships Manager plays a crucial role in the next phase of Jamie’s Farm’s growth. Our new farm in Skipton opened its doors to young people for day visits in April 2023 and is currently undergoing development as another residential farm. We have also just purchased a second farm near Bath, which is currently being developed. Combined, these two sites will allow us to work with another 80 partners and support almost 1,000 more young people every year. 

The Partnerships Manager’s principal task will be finding and developing these new partnerships. This will involve building relationships with schools, local authorities, academy chains and other charities around the country, sharing the benefits of a Jamie’s Farm programme and supporting them to make a visit possible. The Partnerships Manager will also work closely with other members of the HQ team to develop and expand other earned income streams, all of which are used to directly subsidise our groups of visiting young people.

The key duties of these Finance Business Partners will be:

• Act as lead business contact for providing a professional finance business partnering service to designated Cost Centre Managers.

• Complete monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts for your Cost Centres providing sufficient analysis and narrative to inform business and operational decisions.

• Reconcile budgets, accruals, prepayments and other financial records for year-end.
• Engage with Cost Centre Managers on organisational or business-related proposals, provide helpful and meaningful financial advice to support business case submissions.
• Drive effective strategic and operational decision making for budget managers.
• Support the design, development and continuous improvement of finance processes and quality and system improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have:

• Part-qualified with a CCAB qualification or evidence of equivalent experience in a similar role.
• Experience of working in a management accounting, finance business partnering or related financial role.
• Ideally experience working in the public sector, but this is by no means essential.
• Proven experience of working collaboratively, including working with internal and external people in positions of influence to develop and implement customer-focused business solutions.
• Ability to analyse, summarise and communicate financial data and information clearly and accurately to non-financial budget managers.

This is an exciting new role created to focus on legacy fundraising initiatives, with a primary objective of increasing the number of legacy pledges and gifts to support the long-term sustainability of the hospice's vital services.

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Legacy Fundraising Officer will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to engage with supporters, raise awareness of legacy giving opportunities, and secure legacy pledges and gifts.

Experience

• At least 2 years’ experience in a fundraising environment.
• Previous experience in legacy fundraising within the nonprofit sector.
