The opportunity:
Working within the Impact and Investment team, you will support Better Society Capital to manage and leverage impact and system change data, processes and our tools, to enable effective data driven insights to help decision making, drive our strategy and support market building.
The Interim Data & Impact Director will play an important role in defining the way we manage our impact and systems change data by designing workflows and processes to ensure an effective flow of data across our investment process and translating this into impact management information and insight. The role will also help support key impact projects and influence the impact practices of other market players.
What you will do:
Portfolio Data: Impact & Systems Change

Lead on developing our impact and system change data management architecture and infrastructure to create a ‘data-on demand’ environment. This includes designing workflows to collect and receive impact data from fund managers, aggregating with existing portfolio data, and presenting for insights, learning, and decision making, including the creation of data dashboards and other tools.

Oversee the impact and systems change data stored on Salesforce and other management information systems ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate and designing workflows to process and report on the data.

Lead on the design, data collation, analysis and presentation of the investment portfolio’s impact performance for our annual impact and systems change performance committee.

Supporting the impact manager to deliver the annual impact report, leading on our data input.

Creation of reports and presentations that are engaging, user-friendly, insightful, and incorporate best practices in data visualisation and storytelling throughout the impact calendar i.e. lead on website updates for our investment numbers & where we invest section

Working collaboratively with Communications, Investor Engagement, Policy, Finance, Legal, and Operations groups and external Fund Managers on cross functional projects and initiatives.

Assist the Head of Impact and the Head of Investment Management in delivering our impact and systems change approach across stakeholders (incl. BSC Board, external audiences) and products (BSC’s Annual Report, BSC’s Impact Report, etc.)
Market Data

Leading our annual market sizing estimate & enterprise level data release, collaborating closely with relevant teams including market systems and communications to effectively communicate our findings and insight.

Working closely with other market players i.e. GIIN, Impact Investing Institute and European NABS to share and alignbest practice with market sizing methodologies.
Systems Management

Maintain and help develop back-end architecture of Salesforce and user experience on our frontline, impact and co-investor objects working closely with our Salesforce Administrator to continue to build out our impact data infrastructure.

Using Tableau/Power BI and other visualisation tools to present data clearly and build in house capacity to encourage others to ‘self-serve’– allowing users to gain portfolio level insight.

Core Responsibilities:
1. Supervising CareTrade Café throughout the school year (including half terms)

Job Profile
The leadership and Governance Officer is a key role that enables CAFOD’s Leadership (the Executive Team) and Governance (the Board of trustees) teams to fulfil their remits well through sound administration, organisation, and relationship-building skills.
The post sits at the centre of CAFOD and will have a broad overview of key issues affecting CAFOD’s work and the management mechanisms in place to address them. The post holder will have proven experience in providing sound administrative and organisational support at a board/senior management level. This includes excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact across different cultural settings. They will have experience in setting meeting agendas, following up on key actions and experience in forward planning with excellent project management skills to support the Board of Trustees.
The post holder will ensure:
- That the governance of meetings and functions in CAFOD (Board of Trustees and relevant committees) are well planned, effective and documented transparently.
- That governance reporting requirements are fulfilled to a high quality and in a timely fashion. This includes minute-taking, serious incident reporting and follow-up actions.
- That they keep abreast of changes in the governance environment and ensure CAFOD is following charity commission regulations appropriately, engaging with relevant Directors accordingly.
- That key stakeholders receive a high-quality service from the small Directorate team. This includes CAFOD colleagues and supporters, Trustees, Catholic Church officials and members of the public.
The role is part of the Governance Team, which has a broad, cross-organisational remit, working closely with CAFOD’s Directors.
The post holder will also manage the Leadership and Governance Assistant who provides direct support to CAFOD’s Executive Director and Executive Team. Line management of this post holder is provided by the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Ensuring effective Governance (60%)
- Acting as Secretary to the Trustees and Committees, ensuring that the annual meeting cycle (Governance Calendar) is followed, records of meetings are kept and that external submissions (e.g. the annual report, serious incidents, and other reporting) take place in a timely manner.
- Ensuring Trustee and Trustee committee meetings are well-planned (dates, papers, agendas, attendance, etc.) and well-run (including guidance for Chair, minuting, follow-up, action tracking, etc) and that follow up actions are monitored and undertaken.
- Liaise with Trustees on governance matters, including due diligence requests, and events, planning a schedule of Trustee travel to international programmes.
- Overseeing the recruitment and induction of trustees to CAFOD’s Board and coordinating their on-going training and development in conjunction with the Governance Lead Trustee.
- Manage the policy review processes and document management with support from the Leadership and Governance Assistant.
- Ensuring relevant policies come to the Board of Trustees for review in line with the schedule of reporting as outlined in the Governance Calendar. The meeting calendar dates are reviewed on an annual basis in October (so next review is October 2025).
- To be responsible for CAFOD Trustee’s Annual Report being produced in a timely and accurate way, commissioning a consultant.
- Liaising with the Executive Members regarding governance matters ensuring that they are able to provide relevant and accessible information in a timely manner.
- Assist with the communication of CAFOD’s governance work with key donors, supporters and other stakeholders.
- Working with the Governance Lead Trustee to implement any necessary improvements in CAFOD’s governance mechanisms.
Ensuring the effective running of the Executive Team (25%)
- Providing strategic guidance on governance issues and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team.
- Managing the Governance and Leadership assistant to ensure that Executive Team meetings are well-planned (dates, papers, agendas, attendance, etc.) and well-run (including minuting, follow-up, action tracking, etc.).
- Having a broad oversight of all critical projects and support the team to deliver its objectives on time and to budget.
- Brief the Executive Team on matters arising as needed especially governance.
- Process organisational grants and memberships.

Support to the Director (15%)

- When the Governance and Leadership assistant is absent, to manage the diary of the Executive Director. This includes broad insights to plan effective use of their time, including sufficient time to follow up on actions and to prepare for internal and external commitments.
- Provide support on Budget monitoring for the team with input from the Executive Director and L&G assistant.
- When required monitoring the ED inbox, ensuring that requests are followed up and that communications are drafted and signed off, as necessary.
- Forward planning and ensure coordination of travel.
- Prepare briefings and presentations for the ED when required.
People Management
Lead, manage, develop and support the Leadership and Governance Assistant by championing CAFOD’s purpose and values through building strong and safe working relationships, setting SMART objectives and conducting performance reviews, and nurturing staff career development. In September 2024 The One Touch Switching Company ("TOTSCo") launched a revolutionary way for UK customers to switch their broadband and landline provider. TOTSCo was founded by the UK telecoms industry in June 2022 to help to introduce the One Touch Switching (OTS) service that all telecom providers should now be using to make it much easier for their customers to switch. TOTSCo is a member-owned and not-for-profit company whose purpose is to develop and operate a messaging platform (The TOTSCo Hub) which is central to OTS.
TOTSCo will recover its costs by charging industry members for use of the hub, and the anticipated annual turnover of the company is between £6m and £7m. TOTSCo has a team of over 25 people working on all aspects of OTS. In this role you'll get to work with a major technology firm that provides a managed service to TOTSCo.
Job Description
The Head of Finance is a core member of the organisation's structure and is a strategic partner to the CEO in all areas of finance. Responsibilities will include:
1. Job Purpose
- The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer, and comes with membership of the Executive Committee.
- The HoF is responsible for all financial control, reporting, statutory compliance and forecasting.
2. Manage the following functions including those that are outsourced providers (external accountants and managed service partner):

The West Midlands team are seeking a Fostering Panel Vice Chair to support the Chair in conducting monthly virtual panel meetings held on third Wednesday of the month via Microsoft Teams.
In line with our values, we expect each panel member to ensure that all decisions are made regarding the interest of ‘children in care,’ foster carers, and the community in which they live.
The successful candidate may need to travel to West Midlands area to attend occasional in-person meetings and attend 2 training days per year.
As a Fostering Panel Vice Chair, you will be able to evidence:
- Your understanding of the fostering process and practice within the legislative framework or similar.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience of sitting on a fostering panel.
- A history of employment experience at team manager level or above, ideally in a social work or family placement setting.
- Having substantial experience of chairing meetings.
- An ability to evaluate complex reports and assessments while maintaining clarity within the decision-making parameters.
- The capability to develop, monitor and maintain policies and procedures to the highest standard within TACT
As a Fostering Panel Vice Chair your duties will include:
- Occasionally chairing Panel meetings, in the absence of the Chair, ensuring that multifaceted issues are thoroughly considered and recorded, having undertaken thorough preparation for meetings.
- Co-ordinating and directing the work of the Fostering Panel and ensure the quality of foster carers recruited, meet relevant standards.
- Facilitation of the active participation of all panel members alongside the Chair of Panel.
- Regular liaison with the Chair of Panel, decision-maker and with other senior managers as required.
- Participation in the recruitment, selection, and induction of new panel members.
- To assist the Chair in regular planning of training for and appraisal of panel members and support with Ofsted Inspections as and when required.
A Standard DBS clearance is required for this role. This check will be undertaken by TACT on your behalf. The successful applicant will be engaged on an office holder basis and be required to have professional membership to a social work body if they are currently a practicing social worker or other professional.

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that provides a welcoming ‘Home from Home’
where families with a sick child in hospital can stay. But we’re more than bricks and mortar,
our friendly, caring staff are there to support families when they really need it.
Hospital can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing
around 3,500 families a year with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the
hospital means that they can be by their sick child’s side and have one less thing to worry
about.
The role
This is a wide-ranging community fundraising role. Activities include supporting family
fundraising and third-party events in the south such as The Royal Parks Half Marathon and
The Brighton Marathon. You will be required to forge, develop and grow new and existing
fundraising opportunities and relationships with local businesses, community organisations
and schools.
Key to this, is the provision of a sensitive and effective supporter journey for new and
existing supporters.
Also, you will work collaboratively with the fundraising department and the
communications and marketing team to ensure effective integration of campaigns and
activities.
You will actively cultivate and recruit new and existing supporters and volunteers to
participate in a range of third-party events and support the organisation.
You will lead on Supermarket charitable schemes, including research, support with copy
and applications to reach targets set for this area of income.
About you
Ideally you have successful community fundraising experience including provision of a good
supporter journey.
You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will equally be as
comfortable supporting families who stay with us who want to fundraise, as you are
presenting to a room full of students, or potential volunteers.
You have good organisational skills and are comfortable working to objectives and targets.
You are able to work with a level of autonomy and innovation to develop your fundraising
portfolio and to increase our profile particularly in the areas close to our houses.
Ultimately this is a great role for anyone who loves community fundraising and
understands that no two days are the same.
An enhanced DBS check for this role is required.

The role
We have a vacancy for a Regional Administrator working 17.5 hours per week (3 days per week including Wednesday & Friday). You would be joining a dedicated and friendly team of regional staff and volunteers. The ability to work autonomously as well as being a good team player is essential.

The post holder will coordinate and assist with the delivery of all aspects of service contracts in the Lambeth Borough of London, supporting the Regional Manager and the wider team. The role is mainly home working with occasional meeting attendance and service delivery within Lambeth. Networking and engaging with local groups / communities will form an essential element to the role, as well as providing initial contact and support to residents in the Lambeth area.
