About the role

In this rewarding role right at the heart of our Macmillan Support line, you will work in a busy and varied environment, while providing emotional support and key information to people living with cancer and their loved ones at a time of great need.

Due to the nature of some of the calls and webchats, the role can be challenging at times, so resilience is key. However its extremely fulfilling, to be able to support people who are going through such difficult times.

You will work towards performance goals to help us ensure we are reaching everyone who needs our support, with the level of support being the highest quality.

Shift patterns

Our Support Line is available 365 days a year, including bank holidays from 8am to 8pm and is key to our strategic objective of reaching everyone whilst focusing on those who need the most support.

To cover our service and opening hours  you will be required to work a shift pattern on a 6 week rotation of:

Week 1 & 2 - Monday to Friday 9:00-17:00

Week 3 & 4 - Monday to Friday 10:00-18:00

Week 5 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 12:15-20:15

Week 6 - Monday 10:15-20:15, Wednesday to Friday 10:45-20:15

*with a 30 minute earlier finish or later start one day of weeks 1-5

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Experience of working in a busy customer facing environment (preferably contact centre environment), dealing with multiple customer queries and remaining calm under pressure. 
• Experience of speaking confidently to customers via multiple channels; phone, webchat and email.
• Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management system to record accurately the organisation’s interactions with customers.
• High levels of resilience and experience of dealing with emotional or impactful content.
• Experience of working towards goals/KPIs (for example call performance such as average handling times and wrap times).

The first stage will consist of a role play telephone call and written response task in relation to a person affected by cancer, which will be an opportunity to demonstrate your customer service and support skills.

Formal interview dates: Interviews taking place between  Wednesday 30th April – Thursday 8th May

Training dates

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced public affairs professional to join our small staff team to lead our public affairs activity and to grow the influence of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition. This is an exciting opportunity to influence positive change at a time of significant policy and political developments.

As Public Affairs Advisor, you will lead on the Coalition’s public affairs and influencing activity. You will be responsible for influencing the Government’s policy and legislative agenda relating to children and young people’s mental health, forging relationships with the new Parliament, and ensuring the Coalition’s views are heard across Westminster and Whitehall.

With over 370 members across the country, our Coalition has a significant potential to extend its influence. Many of our existing members are well placed to influence at a local level through working with their NHS Integrated Care Boards, councils and MPs, but do not always feel confident carrying out public affairs work. As Public Affairs Adviser, you will work with our members to upskill them to carry out their own influencing activity through a series of ‘Learning and Development’ workshops.

You will have Public Affairs experience of developing successful strategies to influence legislation or government policy, have strong knowledge of political systems and processes, have existing networks and contacts, and feel passionate about creating positive change for babies, children and young people.

This is a new role within the Coalition staff team and is generously supported by the Prudence Trust and the Hollick Family Foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of the Coalition’s parliamentary influencing strategy.
• Build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians and other key stakeholders, such as civil servants and special advisers.
• Lead the Coalition’s engagement with Parliament and Government, ensuring strong systems are in place to capture and track engagement.
• Monitor and respond to political and legislative developments affecting our work, making recommendations for responses, and proactively seeking opportunities to further the Coalition’s objectives.
• Provide political intelligence to the staff team, Chair and our members, and help to prepare staff for parliamentary activity as appropriate.
• Produce high quality written briefings, reports and other materials that communicate our messages clearly and effectively to a parliamentary audience. This will also include contributing to other Coalition communications such as media responses, newsletters, blogs, and social media posts.
• Plan and deliver events aimed at political stakeholders, for example, parliamentary events and roundtables.
• Participate in collaborations with other charities for shared influencing activities, for example the Fund the Hubs campaign and the Future Minds campaign.  
• Support work on legislation as appropriate, including drafting amendments.

Working with members

• Regularly engage with members to understand their influencing priorities and to gather insight to help inform the Coalition’s wider influencing priorities.
• Connect Coalition members to decision makers and help spotlight their work, for example, helping to organise visits to services.
• Provide advice to members on engaging with their local decision-makers such as their local MP, Integrated Care Boards and Councillors.
• Deliver workshops with members to share information and skills related to influencing and public affairs activity. For example, this could include delivery of sessions on influencing local systems, working with the government, and legislative processes.  

General

• Work closely with the Coalition Lead, the Policy and Public Affairs Assistant, and Chair of the Coalition to develop and review priorities for the Coalition and support to drive these forwards. You will also be required to work closely with the staff at Centre for Mental Health.
• Support with the development and implementation of the Coalition’s work plan and projects.
• To undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Coalition Lead or Chair of the Coalition

You will be joining a large team of Money Advisers providing specialist level debt and benefit advice and casework. 

We have 2 posts available - 1 based in our Brighton and Hove office, and the second either based in our office, but fully remote working possible.  For both posts you will have lots of variety, providing telephone specialist debt and benefit advice and casework across a range of projects.  If you are based in our office you will also deliver face-to-face advice both in the office and other outreach locations including Foodbanks and with inpatients.

About the role:

This role is based in Westmoreland & Furness and will require travel around the County in line with Business need.

As an IDSVA you will:

Provide a high quality, pro-active service to victims of domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse. You will work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and the Bridgeway, SARC and other local partnership responses to domestic abuse and sexual violence. You will work with survivors and other agencies to monitor the care pathway. This involves risk assessment, helping clients access their rights, along with any other services they require.

You will be required to attend relevant meetings and will provide regular reports to your line manager. You will also undertake talks and presentations to local groups and agencies on the work of Victim Support, developing networks and partnerships and increasing the role of the service in the community.

You will need:

• Experience of working with victims of domestic and sexual violence and other service providers and agencies in a statutory, voluntary, social or community setting.
• Experience of planning and delivering caseloads, with strong crisis management skills and an understanding of the needs of victims experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence.
• An approved and accredited IDVA and/or ISVA qualification or willingness to work towards this.
• Good IT skills, knowledge of criminal justice issues and an understanding of the effects a court appearance can have on victims and witnesses of crime.

About You:

To be successful as the Duty IDVA you will need to:

Have a relevant qualification or training, for example in domestic abuse, criminal justice, law, social work or other related area. Excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. Bring an excellent understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation, with particular regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children with experienced as a domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs.

You are skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. You have proven experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential and the ability to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision, and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

About the role:

As a Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will be:

• You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to develop your work for Black & Minoiritised victims of domestic abuse as part of our BMC team.
• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.

You will need:

• To be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute stakeholders..
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.
• Have a knowledge of help-seeking intersectional barriers and the support needs of BMC idenified victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

 The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.

To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills: 

To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Role overview

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:

• Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.
• Offer high level advice and guidance in support of and to help achieve the targets set out in the Business Plan.
• Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.
• Oversee and liaise with auditors for the annual audit and other matters as required from time to time.
• Ensure VAT compliance and reporting.
• Be familiar with the cover afforded by all insurance policies and provide information on matters that may affect cover. Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and up to date.
• Ensure timely payment of all taxes.
• Ensure all accounting policies are compliant with current accounting practices.

The Role

This is a great chance to join a busy policy team to lead on our work around private client and tax. The team helps the Law Society shape policy in areas that mater to many of our members and firms they work in.

You will lead our policy development and projects on private client and tax issues, and support colleagues in the private law team on other issues such as technology, employment, company, conveyancing, climate change and supporting our members businesses.

Keeping up to date with policy and legal developments, you will spot and respond to opportunities for positive reforms. A partnership organisation bringing together the NHS and the Alzheimer’s Society, as a Dementia Adviser within the service you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver dementia support, signposting and advice across the city.

This is a role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of those affected by dementia.

Summary

The Human Resources department provides a strategic and operational HR service to the seven National Church Institutions (NCIs) and the 42 Diocesan Bishops' offices. Our HR Operations team focusses on the entire employee lifecycle providing support, advice and guidance to senior leaders, line managers and staff. The Organisational Development team lead on culture, values, wellbeing, development and our belonging & inclusion strategy. Through our External Service team, we also offer HR support on a consultancy basis to other Church of England organisations including our dioceses and cathedrals.

As part of our HR Operations team, you will be involved in providing an outstanding proactive and professional HR service. In this role, you will be the day-to-day HR contact for Bishops' Office Staff. A key project at the start of your role will be to establish (and subsequently maintain) a Teams site for Bishops' Office staff to give them easy access to key HR policies and make it easier for the staff to contact HR.

• This is a part-time role working 21 hours / 3 days per week. The work pattern and location are flexible, with one day each week in your primary base of either York or London.
• You will be required to travel to bishops' offices around the UK, and come to Church House, Westminster at least once a month.

You'll need to have experience of providing HR advice and guidance to staff and managers, and a good understanding of typical HR processes. We are looking for someone who is a confident using IT (including Microsoft Office 365 and Teams) and has experience of HR systems. Experience of using Oracle Fusion HCM and SharePoint would be an advantage.

You will help form part of a UK-wide team of remote Helpline Advisors operating the only modern slavery specific helpline in the UK. Answering incoming calls, making callouts, sending emails, drafting referrals to external agencies, and maintaining accurate data will be your day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to a service that as well as providing information, advice and guidance to our service users, also helps create one of the largest non-governmental bodies of data on the scale of modern slavery in the UK which is used to influence strategy and policy at local, national and international levels. You will provide trauma informed and person-centered information, advice, and guidance to a variety of caller types, including people in and out of exploitation, professionals, members of the public, and businesses.
