About Us
London Legal Support Trust’s mission is to help free legal advice providers in London and the South East be more resilient and sustainable. Through grants, advice and infrastructure development, we help to ensure they can continue providing vital and life-changing legal advice to people who otherwise could not afford to defend their rights.
Access to justice is a fundamental right; without it people are at risk in almost every aspect of their lives, from employment to housing and everything in between. We exist to ensure that everyone has access to appropriate legal support when they most need it – and that lack of financial means is not a barrier.
Our partners, the legal advice centres, help thousands of people every year to access justice and to have their voices heard.
- We support law centres and other legal advice agencies in London and the South East by providing them with grant funding alongside other forms of support.
- We offer our knowledge and experience of the sector to help legal advice agencies become more sustainable.
- We work in partnership with other grant-making bodies to get vital funds out to charities and civil society organisations, to help people that face challenges such as lack of food, isolation, debt, homelessness, domestic violence and mental ill-health.
We raise funds for this work, predominantly through mass-participation fundraising events. Our biggest event, The London Legal Walk, is the biggest event fundraiser in the legal calendar. In 2023, over 16,000 people took part from across London’s legal sector – from judges and barristers to law firms, law students, legal advice providers and other supporters – to raise over £900,000 for free advice services in London.
About the role
We are recruiting a Programmes Manager to work across projects in our Sector Support programme. Working closely with the Head of Sector Support and Grants, they will manage relationships with beneficiaries and partners, coordinating monitoring and evaluation, and ongoing development of grants programmes. We strive to operate in alignment with IVAR Open and Trusting Grantmaking commitments.
This is an opportunity for you to use your excellent project management skills to build relationships with delivery partners; organisations who work on the frontline of social welfare legal advice.
Working in an energetic, friendly and busy team, you will be able to make a significant and positive contribution from the start. We are a small organisation making huge strides in our mission for making access to justice available to more people in need.
About you
We are looking for a proactive and motivated person – an enthusiastic Programmes Manager who can help deliver an ambitious sector support and grants programme in support of a vital cause.
A clear communicator, you will have a passion for social justice and enjoy engaging and working constructively with a wide range of external agencies, partners, and community groups to achieve positive outcomes.
Utilising your strong organisational skills to develop and manage projects, you will relish the opportunity to work within the small LLST team to help develop practical and strategic support offers for free legal advice agencies.

Location
This job will be based at our gorgeous Bath Farm, which also acts as the charity’s HQ. The successful candidate will need to be at the Bath Farm at least two days a week. This role will involve regular travel in order to build connections with potential partners and to develop relationships with all of our farms. It will also involve attendance at conferences and events, to help raise our profile.
About Jamie’s Farm
Jamie’s Farm is a charity which helps young people to flourish at home, in education and in the community through an intensive weeklong immersion in rural life. During a busy residential stay, young people help us run large working livestock farms and tackle many challenging and unfamiliar jobs, designed to offer everyone an opportunity for achievement, thereby building their self-esteem and confidence. They live in a supportive family environment that encourages them to push themselves out of their comfort zone. Our therapeutic input makes use of individual and group sessions to allow children to reflect on their lives on the farm and back home, to draw out tangible strategies for improvements to be realised when they return home.
Our programme is shown to have long term positive impacts on the lives of the young people we support. At the end of their visit, 66% of all young people showed improved mental wellbeing. Six weeks after their visit, of those with concerning attendance, 67% were no longer of concern. Six months after their visit, of those previously at risk of permanent exclusion, 64% were no longer at risk. These dramatic changes are only possible through the combined efforts of the entire Jamie’s Farm team.
Partnerships Manager Role
Jamie’s Farm is quickly growing to help meet the increasing needs of young people from around the UK. The legacy of the pandemic, increasing mental health challenges and the cost-of-living crisis are all causing more children than ever to need the support of programmes like ours. Our existing farms are all full to capacity and booked many months ahead. As part of our strategic plan, we wish to grow our capacity and expand our geographical presence so that we can help more children, from more communities, during the second decade of Jamie’s Farm’s history.
The Partnerships Manager plays a crucial role in the next phase of Jamie’s Farm’s growth. Our new farm in Skipton opened its doors to young people for day visits in April 2023 and is currently undergoing development as another residential farm. We have also just purchased a second farm near Bath, which is currently being developed. Combined, these two sites will allow us to work with another 80 partners and support almost 1,000 more young people every year.
The Partnerships Manager’s principal task will be finding and developing these new partnerships. This will involve building relationships with schools, local authorities, academy chains and other charities around the country, sharing the benefits of a Jamie’s Farm programme and supporting them to make a visit possible. The Partnerships Manager will also work closely with other members of the HQ team to develop and expand other earned income streams, all of which are used to directly subsidise our groups of visiting young people.

About us
Beating Time is a charity with a difference. We run two programmes.
Choirs Beating Time runs weekly choir year-round in 9 prisons, building positive communities and improving mental health and inclusion. Over 1000 people have sung with us in the last 10 years. Inside Job, is an Employment Consultancy with a difference. It was co-created by a serving prisoner, who is very much part of our Team, and the Charity, Beating Time. 2. We take employers into prison to interview Candidates. Job offers are made there and then.
We are an award-winning organisation (Winner of the Robin Corbett award 2020 for prison reintegration & 2 High Sheriff awards) and are powered by individuals who are fuelled by purpose and passionate about what we do.
About the role
This is a new role that has been created to sit within our London office, working closely with the senior management team as well as our community team. You will get the opportunity to visit our prisons and see first hand how we work, what we do and why it is so important.
Our funding comes from several sources including from Trusts and Foundations, and prison contracts and donations. We are looking for somebody who can continue to build strong relationships with our funders but also find and develop new funding opportunities to help grow and maximise our income.
We will offer extensive training and will fully immerse the right candidate into every aspect of our charity. This role will also strongly link in with the planning and delivery of our strategy and policies.
An interest and appetite in the work will outweigh previous experience.
