Sydenham Garden is seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead on a fixed term 3 year contract to join our team of 15 staff and approximately 60 volunteers in delivering adult mental health and dementia services in our beautiful garden setting in south-east London.

Sydenham Garden, based in Lewisham in South-East London, is a unique wellbeing centre utilising its gardens, nature reserve and activity rooms to help people living with and recovering from mental and physical ill-health. We provide nature and arts based creative, social and therapeutic activities for co-workers (the name we give to our primary beneficiaries). With 3-year funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to help us ‘grow our community’ and increase the sustainability of our impact we’re seeking a Community Activities & Volunteering Lead to drive continuous improvement and development of volunteer-led community activities for the benefit of co-workers as well as managing the day to day running of our volunteer programme.

Support Coordinator

Position: S11216 Stroke Association Support Coordinator
Location: Home-based Surrey however, extensive travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Part-time, 21 hours per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £16,043 per annum (inner London weighting £2,370 per annum or outer London weighting £1,260 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live) (FTE circa £26,700 per annum)

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.
· Provide personalised information, advice and support.
· Support clients to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes
· Be accountable for volunteers, so experience of recruiting, training and managing volunteers would be an advantage.
· You will have excellent IT skills and demonstrate a flexible approach to your role.
About You
The post holder will have experience/background in:
· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.
· Setting up and running virtual groups.
This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

About the role
Our passionate Regional Casework Coordinators are SSAFA’s front line of support for members of the armed forces community in need. They are the first point of contact for all beneficiaries into the Regional Office, assessing needs and allocating the case to one of our volunteer caseworkers.

About the team
The team work remotely and pride themselves in maintaining a close working bond which ensures the smooth operation of the office. You will work closely with volunteers from the five SSAFA branches in the East of England, supporting them to administer casework for SSAFA beneficiaries. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of six, which includes a Regional Casework Manager and a Regional Operations Manager.
About you
To carry out this role successfully you will have a track record of providing welfare advice in key areas such as housing benefits, debt, disability, mobility or immigration issues. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR and experience in dealing with sensitive information and people in vulnerable situations. You will be able to provide excellent customer service by telephone, e-mail and face to face. You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard. It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
It would be advantageous if you have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families and if you have experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers. Make a difference for children now and for their future
We’re looking for someone to work with schools across Lewisham to improve the education and health potential of Young Carers. You’ll work alongside our wider team supporting Unpaid Carers across the borough.
You’ll develop relationships with schools and school staff, raising awareness and supporting the identification of Young Carers within education settings, and supporting the development of policy, guidance and resources. As a result of secured funding, we have developed an exciting new role within our ETE (Education, Employment or Training) team focussed significantly on widening the participation of young people into further education. The post holder will be working directly with the young people we support on-site at our accommodation projects across London. They will also be responsible for coordinating a number of interventions to improve participation, including a timetable of visits to colleges, universities and employers throughout the year.
The post-holder will need to ensure effective joint key-working with SHP colleagues as well as with external ETE providers. The successful applicant will be joining our central ETE team, which specialises in providing innovative pathways into ETE.

About the role:
The Minerva London service provides holistic, trauma-informed support for women in touch with the Criminal Justice System, through dedicated one to one support, safer women’s centre spaces and specialist interventions and partnerships.
As the Minerva Activities Coordinator you will be responsible for enhancing the offer to women referred into the Minerva service by supporting them to engage with their local women’s centre provision. You will be based at your regional women’s centre five days a week, as the first point of contact for women entering the centre space or contacting the service via the centre helpline. As Activities Coordinator you will create and deliver a relevant and lively activities programme for women to attend, in partnership with Minerva’s specialist delivery partners.
About You:
To be successful as the Minerva Activities Coordinator you will need the below experience and skills:
- You are an excellent relationship builder who can warmly work with women
- You will bring experience of supporting vulnerable communities and have good working knowledge about safeguarding and risk management and bring an eagerness to learn and develop new skills.

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.
Job Purpose
· To manage an exciting, new programme in Southwark implementing a whole school approach (WSA) to food
· To promote, develop and deliver the programme across nurseries, primaries, secondaries and SEN schools in Southwark
· To ensure that the programme is delivered on time and on budget
Key Tasks include:
- Onboard and line-manage a Project Officer and volunteers to support delivery, providing training as required
- Conduct desk research to group schools and nurseries using a RAG rating, based on level of support required to achieve a WSA to food
- Create a detailed project plan for delivery
- Support with the development of resources and training packages for schools
- Work with an early years’ consultant to tailor resources and training to nursery settings
· Recruit schools to take part in the programme
· Build relationships with teachers, teaching assistants, cooks and senior leaders in schools to improve the food they offer their students
· Support schools to complete school food action plans and polices
· Deliver role-specific training to key staff in schools (training provided if necessary)

About the role:
