Research and Impact Internship

London, Greater London (On-site)
Unpaid role, expenses paid
Voluntary
Job description

Body & Soul is a charity dedicated to transforming the life-threatening effects of adverse childhood experiences. Whether someone has been neglected or abused, trafficked, attempted suicide, or stigmatised because of HIV – we have helped to liberate thousands of people from the trauma that controls them. Our community provides people of all ages with a wide range of innovative and creative programmes that support physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. We have developed a ‘whole person’ model of care rooted in a strengths-based approach that nurtures connection, healing, and growth. Through building members’ protective factors, we promote and develop resiliency, interrupt latent vulnerability, and transform lives.

The Research and Impact intern will work alongside our three main programs: HIV, Adoption and Special Guardianship and Suicide Prevention program, to contribute to our ongoing monitoring and evaluation. You will re-evaluate our existing monitoring and evaluation tools and research cohesive ways of measuring the long-term impact of our work across all programmes in line with best practice. You will also be responsible for the collection and analysis of the relevant data to demonstrate a distinct and comprehensive picture of Body & Soul’s work.

Our intern will:

·       Help to analyse the existing impact of our programmes through our current monitoring and evaluation framework.

·       Research existing measurement tools to design a novel monitoring and evaluation strategy to build a cohesive picture of our organisation’s long-term impact

·       Assist in the collection and analysis of data in line with the new monitoring and evaluation framework

We are looking for an intern who:

  • Has a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
  • Is proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Has an interest in current research about the long-term impact of trauma.
  • Is outgoing, confident and has a creative mindset, willing to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Is willing to take on responsibility and work independently.
  • Able to commit to three days for 3-months.

This is an unpaid internship; with expenses covered if needed.

We offer regular learning and development opportunities for interns; designed to give a deeper insight into Body & Soul’s unique approach.

This intern role is for our Autumn intake, running from October- December 2024. Interviews will be held on the evening of 25th September.

If you are interested in applying, please send a CV and cover letter by 22nd September.  We look forward to hearing from you!
