Job description

Body & Soul is a charity dedicated to transforming the life-threatening effects of adverse childhood experiences. Whether someone has been neglected or abused, trafficked, attempted suicide or stigmatised because of HIV – we have helped to liberate thousands of people from the trauma that controls them.  Our community provides people of all ages with a wide range of innovative and creative programmes that support physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.  We have developed a ‘whole person’ model of care rooted in a strengths-based approach that nurtures connection, healing and growth. Through building members’ protective factors, we promote and develop resiliency, interrupt latent vulnerability and transform lives.

This internship will provide an opportunity to acquire valuable skills and experience in recruitment, training, administration, supervision/management, corporate volunteering programmes, and ongoing development of our volunteer programmes. With a variety of events and new initiatives planned for the Winter period, this is an excellent time to join the team to work in an experienced multi-disciplinary team delivering a unique service. The internship provides high-quality work experience to those interested in volunteer/project management, event programming, training and communications.

Our intern will be…

·       Assisting with our volunteer recruitment process

·       Assisting and facilitating volunteer training sessions

·       Act as a point of contact for regular and corporate volunteers face-to-face and via email/phone

·       Support with planning of creative corporate volunteering events

·       Supporting the development of the volunteer programme by working closely with all members of staff at Body & Soul

·       Providing administrative support to the programme as needed

We are looking for an intern who…

·       Has experience or skills needed for planning and coordinating events.

·       Is proactive and confident in connecting with new people and establishing and maintaining relationships

·       Has good IT skills and knowledge, particularly in Microsoft Excel.

·       Able to commit to three days for 3-months.

This is an unpaid internship; with expenses covered if needed.

We offer regular learning and development opportunities for interns; designed to give a deeper insight into Body & Soul’s unique approach.

This intern role is for our Autumn intake, running from October- December 2024. Interviews will be held on the evening of 25th September.

If you are interested in applying, please send a CV and cover letter by 22nd September.  We look forward to hearing from you!
