We are seeking to recruit two Development Workers for Salford’s flagship Wellbeing Matters programme.

The Wellbeing Matters programme is a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) led initiative delivered by Salford CVS in partnership with five VCSE anchor organisations. The Programme focuses on Person and Community Centred Approaches to improving the wellbeing of Salford people that are commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester, Salford’s five Primary Care Networks, and Salford Integrated Commissioning.

Wellbeing Matters Programme has two core elements, firstly community connecting / social prescribing. This connects people referred through health professionals with a non-medical need to local community assets to support an individual’s wellbeing, independence, and reduce social isolation. The programme aims to support people feel more connected to their communities, providing confidence, and social interaction connections, linking individuals to local activities and services. The main aim is to support individuals become prepared on how to manage their own health and wellbeing.

The second core element of the Wellbeing Matters programme supports the development and maintenance of the VCSE ecosystem that supports social prescribing through volunteering, voluntary action, community activities, investment and assuring quality of groups and activities. This element of Wellbeing Matters includes a team of Development Workers whose role is to develop the capacity of local VCSE groups and activities that ensures a healthy voluntary, community and social enterprise eco-system to socially prescribe into.

About the role

As the #iwill Business Support Officer, you will be helping to grow a UK wide movement of youth social action, where young people are equipped and enabled to shape change in their own lives and communities. You will be part of the #iwill coordination hub team, working alongside colleagues in Volunteering Matters and #iwill partner UK Youth to ensure that #iwill projects and programme activities are effectively coordinated, appropriately resourced, compliant and have the information and tools they need to run effectively.

You will work directly with the Head of Partnerships and Impact and Digital Communications Manager and will be part of the #iwill team across Volunteering Matters and UK Youth. With your strong organisational, time management and communication skills, you will be responsible for leading on planned delivery, like reviewing and updating webpages and digital resources, administering #iwill Partnership meetings and team gatherings, supporting communications activity such as campaigns and newsletters, and providing business support to enable the #iwill movement to grow. Key Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide Business Administration support to the #iwill team- this includes servicing meetings, and project monitoring.
• Provide administration support to enable the #iwill movement to grow- including liaison with internal and external colleagues, youth engagement, and stakeholder mapping and engagement.
• Support the planning, implementation, and impact reporting of key #iwill delivery, including Power of Youth Day, #iwill Week, and Ambassador recruitment.
• Monitor, refresh and update the website, ensuring content is relevant and up to date.
• Support the development of new web-based good practice resources for Power of Youth charter signatory organisations, such as case studies, Youth Advisory Board set-up guides, and other youth empowerment related materials.
• Liaise closely with internal colleagues across all core service areas, collaborating where necessary to ensure strategic priorities are met.

The Third Age Trust is seeking to appoint a Learning Officer to support learning across the u3a movement. The post will be focused on growing the national & online learning provisions, in a way that serves and supports local u3a activity.

The role of Dose of Nature’s Development Manager is a permanent, high-level role which will continue to evolve as the work of Dose of Nature grows over the coming years. The post involves creating and implementing a fundraising strategy, supporting the Chief Executive with financial planning, and providing clear long-term direction to income generation.

The Development Manager will work directly with the Chief Executive to devise a long-term development strategy, identify and secure funding partners, and produce relevant and compelling funding proposals. Currently the main sources of funding are from trust and foundation grants and local council health care grants. Going forward the Development Manager will grow the funding stream from trusts and foundations and look to solidify the donations from locals. As the charity develops there will also be opportunities of securing funding from the corporate sector, helping to secure Dose of Nature’s future.

The role requires a focused and detail-oriented mindset, entrepreneurial flair, business development experience, excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, good time management and the ability to juggle several complicated tasks at once. It provides a fantastic opportunity for someone with a “can-do” attitude, someone who is passionate about supporting the aims of Dose of Nature and also who wants the freedom to make this role their own.

As with any small charity we hope to find someone who is multi-faceted in terms of their fundraising skill set, and within this, without being a communications specialist, we anticipate that the Development Manager will have experience of charity communications (although this is not the main focus of the role). Ideally the Development Manager will be able to help with creating a communications strategy, support communication tools such as newsletters and social media, and identify any opportunities that may help Dose of Nature grow.

Dose of Nature has an annual turnover of approximately £400,000, of which 75% is currently raised from trust and foundation grants along with donations from individuals. The Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining this income and also securing significant new funding during 2024-25. With a good network of local support, the Development Manager will have the advantage of having a database of supporters to work with and there is the potential to create an individual appeal or giving scheme. Currently the Chief Executive makes all funding applications to trusts and foundations and these relationships will be passed on to the Development Manager who will be expected to nurture these and secure grants from new sources.

Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.

• Help develop and manage expenditure and income budgets. Help create the budget, to monitor monthly management accounts and key performance indicators and to undertake reforecasts as required.
• Regularly monitor, evaluate and analyse campaigns, providing regular results and recommendations for strategy development based on reviews and analysis.
• Liaise with team leaders and project managers in other departments to identify and implement new cross-working opportunities utilising specialist knowledge and experience in direct marketing.
• Remain up-to-date about developments in the external market-place and assess the suitability of new, innovative approaches for recruiting supporters to remain competitive.
• Take responsibility for ensuring that all supporter communications are consistent with the WaterAid brand, working closely with the International, Policy and Campaigns, and Communications teams.

About You:

• Successful track record of working in a direct marketing role, including proven experience of planning and executing campaigns across different channels, including digital.
• Experience of managing telemarketing, call handling and large-scale print campaigns
• Experience of managing creative development, including writing creative briefs, working with creative agencies, ensuring the correct sign off procedures are followed, and appropriate stakeholders consulted.
• Project management experience including identifying opportunities and managing through to implementation.
• Ability to work flexibly and independently, to manage varying competing priorities and meet strict deadlines with often changing priorities.
• The ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively with a diverse group to deliver cross-organisational projects or objectives.
• Excellent numeracy skills with attention to detail and experience in monitoring, evaluating and analysing campaigns.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience managing external suppliers.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Experience of working in the voluntary / fundraising sector.
• Experience of delivering supporter direct mail and communication programmes.
• Experience managing new product development and/or innovation projects.
• Empathy with and understanding of overseas development issues.

Role Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer will lead Moseley Community Development Trust (CDT) into an exciting new phase as it develops and grows its asset base: two buildings, a committed core team, and wider community of active citizens and volunteers. They will develop a refreshed strategy for the charity focused on organisational sustainability, social impact, and climate resilience, and use their energy and profile to bring the wider communities around Moseley into that process.

The Chief Executive Officer will develop the organisation’s operating model to include its newest building ‘The Hive’: a flexible space which enables a wider set of people to organise around creativity, solidarity, and other shared endeavour. They will also inherit a community vision for the space and deliver a capital programme to update it in line with that vision.

The role must also model the values that are core to Moseley CDT:

• Inclusion: working, relentlessly to ensure that the organisation’s assets serve all parts of Moseley’s diverse communities of place and interest,
• Positive innovation: embodying a ‘can-do’ attitude by creating space for staff, volunteers, and active citizens to explore how things can be done,

Responsibilities:

To lead Moseley CDT as an organisation and system actor:

• Lead the development of a new organisational strategy, working with the Board. 
• Lead and manage the team of staff and volunteers. 
• Maintain and develop relationships in the local and thematic ecosystems around Moseley CDT, ensuring that the organisation is adept at innovating, anticipating, and responding to issues, risks, and opportunities. 
• Build relationships to widen participation in community life. 
• Develop new sources of funding and increase organisational capacity around business development and funding applications. 
• Support and strengthen existing enterprises, services, and assets – including through planned capital works at The Hive. 

To develop, update, and model good governance: 

• Ensure that the Board meets regularly, and has the strategic, organisational, and community insights it needs to make good decisions. 
• Revisit Moseley CDT’s organisational policies, and update where necessary. 
• Increase organisational capacity around policy updates and compliance. 
• Use research, data, and insight to ensure that the organisation can be nimble and responsive to changes and trends. 

Community development:

• Use the organisation’s assets to support community organisation, enterprise, and development. 
• Support and grow co-working membership to unlock maximum benefit for the wider community around Moseley CDT.
