This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.

About The Role: 

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. 

Key Requirements Include: 

• Lived experience of Caring for someone with a mental health condition 

• Knowledge and understanding of mental health and the associated challenges and support needs. 

• The ability to work within the principles and values of peer support. 

• Confidence supporting people on a one-to-one basis. 

• Experience of / ability to facilitate peer support groups and training. 

• Clear communication and good interpersonal skills  

• Efficient organisation and time management skills 

• Developed IT skills, with experience using databases and communication platforms. 

Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

Job purpose

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the policy influencing work of Runnymede across a wide range of areas. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

About the Programme

The Creative Minds Programme is a six-month initiative promoting mental health and well-being through creative activities like painting, music, writing, and more. Open to adults (over the age of 18) in West Kent, the programme offers inclusive, free sessions led by professional artists and supported by wellbeing workers. Participants need no prior experience, just enthusiasm and a desire to improve their mental health.

Key Objectives include boosting confidence, fostering connections, enhancing life skills, and increasing participants' ability to manage their mental health and support others.

Now in its second year, the programme aims to support 864 adults over three years, with a focus on those with mental health challenges or feelings of loneliness. In addition to creative workshops, the programme offers leadership training to select participants, empowering them to become "Creative Agents." These agents lead "Creative Places" to engage the wider public in community-based creative activities.

The programme is set to conclude in March 2026, with two more rounds of activities still to come.

About the role

Our Creative Minds programme, funded by the National Lottery, is designed to enhance mental health and wellbeing for adults in West Kent through engaging in creative activities. These 24-week programmes are held in various locations across West Kent and are conducted in collaboration with professional artists, local arts organisations, and our Creative Agents, supported by the West Kent Mind community wellbeing team.

The programme leverages creativity to support mental health and wellbeing.

We are seeking an Independent Evaluator to assess the effectiveness of the Creative Minds Programme, a three-year initiative supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Following a successful first year, the evaluator will use various methodologies to evaluate:

Effectiveness and how well the programme met its objectives and outcomes to include but not limited to:

• Impact: Short- and long-term effects on clients' mental health and well-being.
• Accessibility and Inclusivity: Measures taken to ensure activities are accessible to all.
• Collaborators: Engagement levels among staff, volunteers, artists, clients, and partners.
• Public Outcomes: Community engagement with programme results.
• Challenges and Lessons Learned: Identification of challenges and strategies used, with insights for future projects.

Methodology will include a mixed approach using surveys, interviews, observations, case studies, and data analysis, including metrics from the Short Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (SWEMWBS).

Deliverables:

• Evaluation plan with data collection tools.
• Interim report (May 2025) with preliminary findings and adjustments.
• Final report (March 2026) detailing programme impact, challenges, and recommendations.
• Presentation of findings to the National Lottery Community Fund.

Who you are

All previous experience may be paid or voluntary, full or part-time, in the UK or overseas.

· Proven experience in evaluating arts and health programmes or similar community-based initiatives.

· Strong knowledge and understanding of creativity, the arts, and mental health, either independently or in collaboration.

Terms and Conditions

Freelance Fee: An inclusive fee of £8000 (inc. VAT). The fee is inclusive of all expenses related to the successful candidate’s time, travel, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Hours: The freelancer will allocate the time required to complete and fulfil this agreement. Visits to the programme to be discussed and scheduled with West Kent Mind Wellbeing and Creative Arts Programme Lead. 

Location: The freelancer will work remotely. Scheduled visits within West Kent are required for in session visits.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Horticultural Therapist with a track record of coordinating inclusive gardening sessions for the local community.

You will be responsible for supporting people to work towards their goals in a garden setting and developing people's practical and social skills.

Main purposes of the job:
To facilitate therapeutic placements for people with learning disabilities, mental ill health and long-term health conditions, and complex needs using social and therapeutic horticulture principles, currently held on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

To involve the diverse local community of Hackney and neighbouring boroughs in activities at St Mary’s Secret Garden through participation in accredited training programmes, therapeutic groups, and volunteering activities with an emphasis on individuals and communities who may otherwise be excluded.

To use horticulture and other knowledge relating to growing and caring for plants, nature conservation, garden maintenance and landscaping to engage with people, encourage learning and promote health and wellbeing.

To promote the social care aspects of horticulture to community groups, local statutory services and individuals in the London borough of Hackney and beyond.

You’ll have experience of working in a safeguarding customer-facing environment within the Charity or Public Service sectors. You’ll ideally have had experience in supporting vulnerable people in person, over the phone and or online.

An understanding of safeguarding within the Charity and Public Service sectors is essential.

We are seeking an energetic, empathetic and resourceful community lead who has the skills, experience and tenacity to engage widely and support effectively. You will be our person on the ground - getting to know residents and organisations, making things happen, not just with the existing community groups and leaders in the Roehampton area, but also forging new connections with residents, activists and across the wider community and voluntary sector. 

Your day-to-day work will be varied and we expect this to include tasks such as:

• supporting local community organisations on a one-to-one basis, as well as creating and delivering high quality resources and support for them 

• delivering meaningful engagement with residents, empowering them to develop their own networks and co-design projects and programmes which support them effectively 

• managing a local grants programme which pilots and develops effective responses to community needs 

• co-producing and developing our Community Weeks programme as a platform for community support and engagement 

• gathering feedback and carrying out evaluation of our projects and of those we fund.

The main purpose of this role is to support the development of the champions network through the development of relationships; exceptional communication; logistical management and administration. You will also support the wider Starlight Team, especially fundraising and marketing, with health professional and family stories that can engage supporters across all media and inspire the public to donate to Starlight. You’ll take the lead on creating opportunities for visits to healthcare settings where possible and appropriate.  You’ll help with the facilitation and delivery of meetings, training sessions and webinars.   You will also contribute to the development of our Health Play Awards, which have rapidly become recognised as the highest accolade for play professionals in healthcare.

You will report directly to the Play Professional Development Manager.

Centre Administrator 

£28,000 p/a + cost-of-living increase (pending), full-time 35 hours per week, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for progression 

Did you know that there may be over 20,000 Sutton residents who care, unpaid, for a family member or friend who is sick or disabled due to a physical, mental health or substance misuse issue? Sutton Carers Centre works in partnership to help improve and maintain the quality of life for these Young and Adult Carers living, working, studying or caring in the London Borough of Sutton. 

We are looking to recruit to a key and rewarding role in our charity. The members of our team are highly skilled, passionate and committed, so we are looking for an experienced administrator who can support them. The successful candidate will be skilled in office administrative functions, to ensure the delivery of an efficient, friendly and smooth-running Centre as well as office co-ordination and support services. The post-holder will have experience of developing, maintaining and improving systems in an office environment. The post-holder will also oversee reception functions, including the support of the administration and reception volunteers. 

You also will have excellent IT, literacy and numeracy skills and be able to express yourself well in person and in writing. The successful candidate will be positive, empathic, creative and boundaried in their ability to work alongside Carers as well as our colleagues and partners, in helping Carers maintain their own health and wellbeing alongside their caring roles.
