Position: Womens Community Project Key Worker

Location: Based in central Reading.  The role requires travel across Berkshire, Oxford City and South Oxfordshire, the post holder must hold a full UK drivers license with access to own transport

Contract: Permanent full time – 37 hours per week Monday to Friday.  Part time hours will also be considered

Salary: Starting salary in the range of £25,734 to £31,453 per annum, depending on skills and experience (pro rata if part time)

About the role:

As a Key Worker at Alana House, you will hold a case load of women and be involved in one to one work support work and group based sessions.  Your Key Worker responsibilities will include:

· regularly meet with women to provide dedicated emotional and practical support

· complete initial assessments of risk and need, and provide one-to-one support across rehabilitative pathways

· create and review support plans in collaboration with the woman, and other agencies

· facilitate and deliver group-based support

About you:

As a Key Worker, you’ll bring an in depth knowledge of issues facing women with multiple disadvantages, including those with convictions and those at risk of offending.  You’ll also have significant experience of supporting women with issues such as homelessness, substance misuse, domestic abuse and mental health, preferably within a criminal justice setting.

The role is a hybrid position that will require travel in the UK including to the UKHQ Finance Department in Sandy Bedfordshire, and to attend meetings in the support of your directorate.

We are looking for two qualified accountants to join our Financial Planning and Reporting team. Both positions are as Finance Business Partners, supporting two key areas of the organisation: one will be supporting our Income and Conservation Investment Directorate; and the other supporting colleagues in the UK Countries Directorate more specifically for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Both are key roles within the team working in income generation, and direct conservation areas.

What's the role about: 

As a Finance Business Partner you will work proactively with senior colleagues to provide an added-value service of financial support to our Directorates. In addition to a strong management accounting background, you will understand the difference that can be made through strong business partnering relationships and be confident in building those relationships. You will gain the respect and confidence of the colleagues you support through strong communication skills (written and oral) and your ability to constructively challenge ideas and plans. You will add value through gaining an intimate understanding of the Directorate that you partner, together with contributing to business performance and the requirements of the finance function with the charity's need.

You will be a fully qualified accountant with up-to-date technical knowledge and a desire to progress in your profession. We will want the successful candidate to influence change and use their skill set to further drive the organisation's objectives forward. You will also be comfortable working under pressure, to tight deadlines, and interacting with people at all levels inside the RSPB. 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience: 

• CIMA or equivalent qualification.

Believe: Positive Destinations Project Co-ordinator

Would you like to be involved in this new opportunity to support young people in Swansea develop the skills needed for the world of work?

Believe: Positive Destinations is a 12 week work readiness programme for young people aged 16 to 25.  The programme, part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, has been developed specifically for young people who have little or no experience of the world of work. It is a holistic programme, it will support them to develop workplace skills, build their aspirations, increase self-confidence as well as providing them with strategies to manage their wellbeing. 

As the Project Co-ordinator you will assist the CSM with the development of this new service. This will include building a network of work placement providers and referral sources. You will be the main contact for placement providers and will provide direct support to participants to ensure they are achieving their potential. You will be responsible for delivering the programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants.

What does the job role involve:

• Promotion of the service at networking events and online.
• Establish a network of appropriate placement providers throughout Swansea and be the main contact for placement supervisors for the duration of the placement.
• Establish links with organisations who will be referring into the service, this will include Education, Leaving Care and NEET services.
• Delivery of a 12 week work readiness programme to cohorts of up to 8 participants including the delivery of Agored Cymru accredited units.
• Supporting young people to achieve their development goals.
• Responsibility for gathering and collating relevant data and contribution to report writing as per the request of the service manager and the commissioner of service.
• Tracking service user progress through the use of outcomes scoring over the duration of the programme and after exit, using a young person centred approach.
• Provide advice and guidance to PW1s in manager's absence.
• Standard service operating hours will be 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 4.30pm Friday, however the role requires some flexibility around hours as we support young people around their needs.

Essential criteria

• Self-motivated and highly organised.
• Experience of working with young people aged 16 to 25 years in a one to one and group work context.
• Experience of working with young people who are NEET (not engaged in education, employment or training) in a relevant setting.
• Experience of delivering group work programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Support and Equip Church Partners
 

• Work with the wider Church Partnerships Team to meet key strategic goals to build social transformation across the church in the UK
• Manage working relationships with a caseload of partner churches to ensure programme delivery flourishes, that the church has ongoing support and feels connected to Resurgo, and has a vision for and feels ownership of the Spear programme in their community
• Liaise with church partners regarding any challenges they’re facing, providing strategic support and connecting them to the wider Resurgo team for further assistance around key challenges

Line Management, Team Training and Development of Spear Centre staff

• Support with the recruitment and induction of new Spear coaches, and manage Spear Centre Managers through regular 1-1s and helping them troubleshoot challenges
• Performance management of the Spear centres run in partnership with your caseload of churches through regular reviews, informal and structured feedback, session observations and reporting on KPIs
• Work with the Impact team to identify training needs, then design and run training initiatives to meet these needs, including all-team training days, role-specific training streams, and volunteer training

As our Lead Learning & Development Specialist you’ll support BHF in the successful delivery of this organisational wide Enterprise Foundations programme.

You’ll lead, design, manage and evaluate engaging learning experiences that will enable colleagues to enhance their skills. Helping colleagues to adopt changes to key systems and processes within BHF, as well as ways of working and culture, you’ll stay ahead of the curve and will, ultimately, help BHF to achieve our transformation goals.

You’ll work closely with key colleagues in this Enterprise Foundation Change Programme, as well as third-party partners to successfully maximise engagement, commitment, adoption and sustainable. You’ll also collaborate closely with the wider L&D team, business leaders and subject matter experts to drive learning initiatives aligned to transformation goals.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

About you

Experienced in designing and delivering complex learning programmes for both technical skills (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, Power BI) and behavioural skills (e.g. communication), you’ll have previously experience managing complex learning programmes with multiple audiences, workstreams and stages, as well as experience in developing online learning resources and delivering virtual learning experiences.

You’ll be an all-round L&D Specialist but who has experience with technical training and can understand/pick up new tech quickly, able to work directly with subject matter experts and not get overwhelmed by the jargon.

As a Clinical Care Manager, you will also play a pivotal role in overseeing the clinical operations within the charity. Providing strategic direction and leadership to therapy teams, ensuring alignment with the charity’s mission and goals including the recruitment, training, and performance of therapy staff; fostering a supportive and effective work environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that our children and families receive the highest standard of care while supporting our dedicated team of therapists.

This role requires an experienced physiotherapist with excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as a deep commitment to service delivery, clinical governance and quality improvement to ensure the highest standards of care. You must be able to engage with other agencies to ensure collaborative practice for best therapeutic outcomes. As a self-starter, you will be able to use your own initiative, problem solve and prioritise, with good planning and organisational skills. About the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT)

PSTT is a registered charity with a clear vision – we want to see excellent teaching of science in every primary classroom in the UK. We believe it is vital that children are engaged and inspired by science from an early age. We want to draw on their natural curiosity to help them explore, understand and ask questions about the world around them.

We’ve built a Primary Science Teacher College of over 200 outstanding teachers; each helping to shape and influence science teaching across the UK. We produce great resources that improve how science is taught and planned. We organise engaging professional learning events for teachers, and work with partner organisations to further enhance how science is taught. Our 2023-28 strategy is building on these strengths to reach more teachers across a more diverse range of schools.

We’re dedicating our most intensive efforts to areas of the UK requiring most development in primary science. Our Priority Areas initiative is being piloted in 30 schools, and in September 2025 we plan to launch this programme in a further 30 schools. Our Regional Mentors have worked with more than 3,000 schools across England, with exceptionally positive feedback.

Job summary

There are two parts to the Primary Science Mentor role. The majority of the role will focus on strengthening primary science teaching and leadership by leading our second Priority Areas initiative. Through their knowledge of and passion for primary science education, the successful candidate will inspire transformational change in schools taking part in this project. They will build close working relationships with participating schools and create a vibrant and exciting learning community based on mutual support and the sharing of expertise.

The remaining hours in the role will be as a Regional Mentor: joining PSTT’s growing team of primary science experts who provide bespoke support directly to individual schools, multi-academy trusts and other school groupings and organisations. This includes developing and delivering training in a variety of contexts, including online; working individually with Science Leaders; being a leading voice, expert and advocate for primary science (both regionally and nationally); and creating partnerships with other organisations that support science within the region.

A crucial part of the role is to ensure collection of appropriate data for both Priority Areas and Regional Mentor activities, so that we can evaluate our work against intended outcomes.
