As Philanthropy Officer you will help deliver the best possible experience to some of the charity’s most committed donors through a mixture of bespoke events, personalised communications, and recognition opportunities across our hospital sites.

The Charity generated £4.5 million through donations in 2023/2024, and are now preparing for an ambitious multi-million-pound campaign in support of a ground-breaking cancer centre on the hospital site. As Philanthropy officer will play an important role in helping to build relationships, and increase income, in a pivotal year for the charity. Your key responsibilities will include;

• To be the main point of contact for donors giving between £1,000 and £10,000 to the charity each year, building relationships through phone calls, emails, letters, and in person interactions.
• To support the development and delivery of engaging events, and bespoke communications for mid-level donors.
• To work closely with the philanthropy manager, supporting with the administration and day-to-day delivery of a new programme for the charity’s closest, and most engaged, donors.
• To draft engaging materials, such as letters, invitations, and thank you communications, to ensure patrons feel valued and have a positive donor experience.

• To work closely with the individual giving officer to steward those who enquire about, or pledge to leave, gifts to the charity in their will

This position would ideally suit a candidate who has experience of;

• Working with supporters, customers, clients, or the general public, delivering an excellent service on the phone, in person, and in written communications.
• Creating high quality written documents, such as tailored letters, proposals, slide decks, or other professional materials.
• Fundraising or engaging with the not-for-profit sector, whether professionally or through volunteering, involvement with community projects, or managing a personal fundraising page.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced mental health professional or therpaist to join our small team in Newcastle to support men in suicidal crisis. Our Newcastle centre opened in November and we need to recruit to expand our small of therpaists team to meet the growing needs of our service.

We will work with you and train you to develop your therapeutic skills to offer our semi-structured psychologically informed intervention. You will support the centre user and their supporter(s) to recover from the suicidal crisis and maintain their safety. 

The Charity

James’ Place exists to stop men dying by suicide. We opened our first centre in 2018 in Liverpool, the first of its kind in the UK, in 2022 we launched our second centre in London, and this year we opened our third centre in Newcastle. To date, we have supported over 2,300 men. James’ Place is a therapy centre for men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis, and it was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. It offers men a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.   

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential Qualifications

 A Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker registered with NMC, HPC, BASW. 

Or

Therapists registered with IAPT, BACP, UKCP, BABCP. 

Or

Psychology Graduate with experience of working as a Psychology Assistant or extensive experience of working within secondary mental health services.

Demonstrable experience working with adults experiencing acute psychological distress. 

Demonstrable knowledge of the impact of suicide on communities and individuals.

We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment, we also support people to retain their employment when they are struggling at work due to their mental health. We also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace. But it’s only possible with people like you.

Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with partner organisations, local employers and Talking Therapy teams and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.

As well as a good understanding of mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required.

The post holder will have the ability to travel independently across a large geographical area within Surrey.

Purpose of the job

The Head of Digital will be responsible for leading our digital, IT and information systems.  They will also have oversight of AV and for the technical development of online education materials.

The post holder will lead the digital transformation of the organisation, continuously improving the effectiveness and impact of the Society.  They will lead resource planning, management, reporting and coordination of projects/initiatives to deliver change in line with business requirements. This will involve leading end to end delivery digital projects, including technology delivery and change management required to improve, implement and embed digital systems, IT infrastructures and processes.

Main responsibilities

• Project manage major digital projects and ensure relationships with external stakeholders and engagement with Members, Staff and Service Users are all managed effectively.
• Research solutions and make recommendations for the improvement of systems and infrastructure.
• Appoint suppliers of digital services and oversee the Institute’s relationships with them, ensuring they provide a high-quality service and value for money.
• Provide first line support to staff, responding to basic technical queries and issues, such as password resets, software installation, and troubleshooting common hardware and software issues.
• Manage the IT infrastructure and security of the CRM system.
• Ensure the smooth operation of the CRM system, including user access management and working with our support provider to carry out data backups and system updates.
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect customer data and ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the CRM system and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to the system's performance and functionality.

Other responsibilities

• Work to increase the number of people reached through the Institute’s web presence and to build repeat usage, for example, by providing expertise on search engine optimisation, pay-per-click and social media advertising, and managing paid-for search.
• Coach, advise and share information on digital content, communications and services within the wider organisation. Encourage and support staff and members to engage with digital communications and adopt a ‘digital first’ mind-set.
• Take the lead on Google Analytics and other digital monitoring/measurement tools, ensuring that digital metrics are implemented, consistently reported and widely used across the Institute.
• Provide AV support for in-person, online and hybrid events using Zoom.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our well-established Homeline befriending project as a brand-new Dementia Coordinator. The aim of this role will be to set up, coordinate and develop a range of dementia support for isolated and lonely 60+ residents of Hammersmith and Fulham living with dementia and their carers. 

Specifically, the Dementia Coordinator will: 

• Head up a new dementia information hub within The Creighton Centre. This will involve coordinating a Dementia information and advice service, partnering with dementia health care professionals to deliver advice, signposting and referrals to people living with Dementia and their carers. 

• Network and develop strong links with local cross sector dementia services. 

• Develop additional inclusive activities to complement existing Homeline activities e.g. dance therapy, gardening club. 

• Promote new dementia volunteer roles and support Homeline Volunteer Coordinator to recruit team of 15 Dementia Ambassadors, and up to 50 Dementia home befrienders. 

• Coordinate dementia training and ongoing support of volunteer ambassadors/volunteers. 

• Coordinate up to 30 dementia home and care home befriending matches within year 1 (up to 50 annually for year 2 and 3), with a focus on meaningful sensory activities and keeping active.

The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association is dedicated to supporting and empowering people living with and affected by MND.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Area Support Co-ordinator to lead, manage and support teams of volunteers, develop, and maintain relationships with local services, and ensure that people living with and affected by MND receive an exceptional service, improved support, and are at the heart of our care initiatives.

A fundamental part of the role is ensuring individuals affected by MND receive tailored support. Your responsibilities will include leading and coordinating volunteer activities, developing branch and group capacity, and establishing new groups as needed.

A key focus will be understanding local needs and collaboratively planning, designing, and delivering support activities. You will build and maintain excellent relationships with our wonderful volunteers, care centres/networks, care co-ordinators and multi-disciplinary health and social care professionals, hospices, other partners.

We are in search of someone who can:

• Identify and address support issues by working with volunteers and individuals affected by MND.
• Guide collaboration within the branch and group network, fostering a supportive environment.
• Proactively manage the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers.

We're hiring a Lead Psychologist to lead, shape, and enhance psychological practices across the organisation. You will work closely with various teams across the organisation to foster the development and support of psychological interventions. 

The Social Interest Group is dedicated to providing comprehensive support and care to individuals of all ages facing a diverse array of psychological challenges in both mental and physical health realms. This encompasses adults within acute and forensic mental health community based services and residential community based accommodation, as well as people residing in their own homes, in the community and prisons. The spectrum of conditions and illnesses includes people with trauma, anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictions, learning disabilities, autism, Korsakoff syndrome, alcohol related brain damage, and challenges related to social isolation, family dynamics, and relationships. 

In this role, you will manage a team of psychologists, a clinical lead, mental health nurses, substance misuse teams, and therapeutic leads, as well as providing overall leadership, expertise, and direction to the organisation to bridge gaps in knowledge, experience, and skills!

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5. You will be based in Central Office (Islington) but will regularly be based within any of our services across London, Brighton, Kent, Havering, Bedford, Luton, Nottingham, and Liverpool. Hybrid working is an option outside these service visits.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a self-starter, who can proactively encourage and take leadership of all aspects of psychology for the organisation! You will hold an accreditation with HCPC and BPS (and/or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate your experience in developing clinical/forensic/counselling practices!

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counselling or Forensic Psychology from an accredited institution
• Full registration with BPS and as a Psychologist with the relevant regulatory body (e.g. HCPC)

You will support national and local campaigns and assist in planning and delivering campaigning events. Additionally, you will help organise communications for the All-Party Parliamentary Group on MND, involvement and advisory groups, and policy focus groups.

Our Nursery team are looking for a Housekeeper to work 10am-2pm, Monday to Friday, to carry out day-to-day duties across the nursery, which is located on the first floor of the Coin Street neighbourhood centre in Stamford Street, London SE1. You will have bags of energy and a passion for ensuring all of our children receive the best possible experience. You will be organised and thrive on ensuring the children’s linen is clean and dry, that the toys are sanitised and that the Chef is supported in the kitchen.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Housekeeping/cleaning experience in a business or domestic setting.
• Understanding of responsibilities and regulation under HASAW Act, COSHH, infection control, essentials food hygiene (training will be provided).

nia has been delivering services to women, girls and children who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution, since 1975. East London Rape Crisis provides free, confidential specialist support for women and girls who have been raped or experienced any other form of sexual violence or abuse at any time in their lives, regardless of whether or not they have reported to the police. In the role of Counsellor, you will provide one to one counselling and group therapy to survivors of sexual violence. This innovative role has been created to respond to recent demands for an integrative approach into support delivery of vulnerable adults presenting a severe and enduring mental illness and/or a forensic background, at times in combination with substance misuse.

The post holder will lead on creating a therapeutically informed programme in order to develop a Psychological Informed Environment in the service.

The role would suit an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist who will lead in facilitating therapeutic groups and individual counselling /therapy for service users. On the other side provide support to the staff team in developing their psychological understanding and raising awareness in the emotional impact of working with this client group.

Adopt and implement a Psychological informed Environment in the service.

To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively to ensure that full information is given (in case of risk) to enable a robust assessment of service-users.
Lead on staff team debriefs following any serious incidents, develop workshops to assist staff in managing stress and wellbeing in the workplace and advise the manager on supportive interventions for the team as a whole
Lead on team reflective practise sessions as well as other creative activities for the team to aid reflection, insight and best practise.
To ensure recovery focused support plans are reviewed, evaluated and amended in accordance with changing needs, presenting risks and individual preferences in order to promote recovery with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'.
