Peer Support Worker

We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our mental health services. The role is a peer support worker, who would facilitate face to face and zoom groups, and help us with the smooth running of Mind BLMK services. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the recovery journey needed to improve mental health and wellbeing.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.

Service Delivery

• Support an existing peer led eco-therapy group to work towards self-sustainability
• Coordinate the service processing of client referrals, adding details to the data base and assessing client suitability by carrying out risk assessments.
• Support clients to access other services within Mind BLMK.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through the influence and participation process, Guarantor Membership, and training opportunities.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

About the Service 
Hertfordshire Mind Network has had a Domestic Abuse Service in Three Rivers since 2017. The aim of the Domestic Abuse Casework Service is to provide advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner or familial violence living in the community about the range, effectiveness, and suitability of options to improve their safety and that of their children. All advice will be based on a thorough understanding and assessment of risk and its management.

About the Role 
You will be line managed by the Domestic Abuse Service Team Leader for Hertfordshire Mind Network but will manage your own workload, prioritising tasks and working on your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the wellbeing of clients who are affected by domestic abuse.
• Improve risk management and safety for clients
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients
• Contribute to a reduction in repeat victimisation
• Reduce the number of victims withdrawals of witness statements
• Increase the reporting of children at risk of harm
• Put any necessary safeguards in place
• Increase successful court outcomes by proactively supporting clients
• Work with other professionals e.g. police, health, social care, housing, and signpost and liaise with such agencies as necessary
• To agree and record safety plans made with clients as well as suggesting other alternate appropriate areas of support to ensure clients are receiving some sort of support or engagement with services.
• Receive referrals and undertake appropriate risk assessments and make direct contact within 48 hours of referral.
• To refer to the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) if required and local IDVA service.
• Work with the wider team within Hertfordshire Mind Network and support clients in accessing additional support e.g. counselling, peer support, employment support and self-development courses.

Core Responsibilities 

Financial Management:

· Day to day management of the organisation’s financial and administrational activities, ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to receive and make payments, and to monitor financial performance of both the charity and the trading subsidiary

· Invoicing and, where required, debt management processes

· Regular reconciliation of bank and other relevant accounts

· Design and implementation of appropriate financial procedures, ensuring they are followed at all times

· Preparation of monthly payroll data and submission to external provider

· Managing all relevant tax aspects for the charity, ensuring that tax is appropriately calculated, collected, reported and paid

· Monitoring and managing cash-flow

Financial Reporting and Budgeting:

· Preparing and supporting the independent verification/audit of annual accounts and any other financial reporting required to meet our obligations to the Charity Commission & Companies House

Procurement:

Grant Administration:

The Senior Data & Insight Manager will be a huge asset to our Fundraising and Comms Directorate leading on the management of all fundraising data and delivering analytics to influence investment decisions and support engagement and income growth.

We are looking for a proactive individual to take our data team to the next level, bringing together the management of our data and CRM (ALMs and Engaging Networks predominantly), data protection and compliance, insight and reporting, testing strategies and innovation and our data transformation project.

With the support of our data services agency and line managing a Data Officer, the right candidate will have full authority delivering the data needs of the department and wider Fundraising & Communications directorate, including digital fundraising and Philanthropy & Partnerships. Last year we developed a KPI generator using Power BI to produce a live reporting tool. Job title: Care Leavers Employment Project Coordinator

About the Role

As a Care Leavers Employment Project Coordinator for Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN), you will support and manage the development of this project and will co-ordinate, develop and grow this new service.

You will play a crucial role in supporting care leavers aged 21+ on their journey to meaningful employment and independent living by providing employment guidance, resources, and support services with the aim of sustainable employment at our charity with ongoing person-centred support.

You will work closely with care leavers, local authorities, ICB contacts, HMN HR team, HMN senior management team, and other stakeholders to facilitate access to HMN volunteering, shadowing & employment opportunities, training programmes, and career development initiatives. The goal is to empower care leavers to achieve sustainable employment, good mental health and build successful careers at HMN, with the view to develop the service to include partner organisations and other stakeholders where successful careers may be established for care leavers.

The project ethos will be based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, with an awareness that individual differences must not be overlooked, that these needs can be pursued simultaneously, that the theory may not be universally applicable across cultures, and the influence of social, environmental, and structural factors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement programmes and initiatives to support care leavers in their journey to meaningful employment, including job readiness training, CV building, interview preparation, training opportunities and access to an HMN mentor/buddy.
• Join the Care Leaver Covenant and sign up to the Care Leaver Friendly Employer Charter, harnessing the opportunities available to support the project, including the Inclusive Employment Toolkit.
