Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

What We Offer:

· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.

You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish.

You will be a Youth and Wellbeing Practitioner/Assistant Psychologist who is passionate about supporting MAC-UK’s objective of working collaboratively with young people, innovating services and systems and their approach to mental health, to address health and social inequalities. We aim to support services to be more accessible, flexible and responsive to excluded groups, and to change the systems that lead to and maintain inequality.  This role is ideal for someone who is looking to develop their skills in youth and community work and/or working towards a qualification (degree equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Work, Therapeutic Practice, Clinical/Educational/Forensic/Counselling Psychology.

We are very excited to be part of a pilot service, new in England working as part of a consortium of four organisations, alongside Lambeth Council. This will be a residential support service for young people aged 16-24 years at risk of serious youth violence, who are already caught up in the criminal justice system and at high risk of remaining part of the system.

You will be working in one of three London properties alongside a large multi-agency staff team made up of experts by experience/profession in psychology and therapy; youth work; offending; education, training, and employment (ETE) and housing. The service will work creatively and holistically to enable young people to exit environments involving youth violence, identify and reach their goals and aspirations, move on successfully to appropriate independent living, and importantly to sustain this life.  Wherever possible staff and young people will co-produce what this service looks like and what activities the young people engage in.  This is a great opportunity if you are interested in therapeutic practice, and developing or using your therapeutic skills alongside the area of social action.

Role Overview

The Junior Finance Officer will manage sales ledger transactions, ensuring accurate, timely financial data that supports the Trust's internal financial controls and monthly reconciliations. Youth Ministry Coordinator

This is an exciting new role which has been developed to support the work of Area 5 of the Pastoral Plan. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues from the parishes, schools and archdiocesan lay staff, in developing routes for the active participation and support of young people in the life of the church and in the service of its communities. To bring vision, energy and experience to develop youth ministry, accompanying young people into a living experience of the Church community.

The key initial priorities of this role are to:

• Design and develop various projects and initiatives to enable young people to build positive relationships with the church.
• Develop a mechanism for young people to engage in discussions about the future of the church.
• Actively develop an archdiocesan strategy for young people.
• The ideal candidate will have a background working directly with young people (aged 10-19) and a good knowledge of the Catholic faith.

Contract and Salary

Annual leave

Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)

Responsible to: Senior Support Worker

Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).

Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.

Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.

Leave: Two nights a month can be taken as nights away from the home. This in addition to annual leave allowance. Annual leave - 33 days (converted into hours) pro-rata for number of hours worked

Salary Band: £24,150 - £27,760 per annum pro rata. Equivalent to £16,100 to £18,506 for 25 hours a week.

Overall Purpose

To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
• Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)
• Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance and consistently modelling behaviours in line with Baca’s values.
• Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.
• Providing emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
• Encourage young people settle into and support them to maintain a healthy routine which will include regularly attending education and social activities.
• Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure that their support plans and progress are up to date and that all their needs are being met.
• Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries by challenging any unhelpful or unsafe behaviours and encouraging safe and positive behaviours.
• In accordance with the guidelines on Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and report any concerns.
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
• Take responsibility for keeping the home clean, by consistently role modelling to and training young people.
• Maintain very good communication with relevant members of the Rebuild Team and relevant social workers
• Ensure regular appropriate reporting requirements are consistently met, meeting regulations set out by Ofsted.
• Complete and update all admin work as part of the role such as month end reports and support plans on time and in a consistent manner.
• Playing an active role in developing knowledge and understanding in areas relevant to the role and especially in the areas of asylum and refugee law, trafficking, supporting separated children and the cultures of different nations relevant to Baca.

Personal Specification

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about seeing unaccompanied young refugees achieving their potential and rebuilding their lives for a better future. The successful applicant will have a personal style that is in line with Baca’s vision and values. They will live in the new arrival house and make it their home. They will be a good self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire our young people to be the best they can be. The successful applicant will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care. They will be very approachable, enjoy working as part of a wider team but also able to manage their own time and workload. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to set boundaries in line with Baca’s values.

This is a frontline role that will need the successful applicant to be working closely with young people in their houses and will need access to transport young people to different appointments, meetings and activities.

This post will deliver policy outputs across the Young Lives programme, with a strong focus on laying the foundations for a new Young Lives ResearchHub on Climate Change and Environmental Shocks. The delivery of high-quality impactful policy outputs is central to the success of Young Lives as an innovative international longitudinal study, including supporting new fundraising opportunities.

S/he will also collaborate closely with researchers and policy leads in each of the four Young Lives study countries.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to laying the foundations for a new Young Lives (YL) Research Hub on Climate Change and Environmental Shocks.
• Support the Deputy Director to deliver the YL Policy Influencing Strategy and key research-to-policy outputs across the YL programme, including key messages, policy briefs, impact case studies, blogs and other policy focused materials relating to YL research themes. Key themes include education and skills, employment, health & wellbeing and family lives, with a specific focus on the crosscutting impacts of climate change and environmental shocks, poverty and inequalities.
• Track and analyse international and national policy debates, with a specific focus on the impact of poverty, inequalities and climate change on young people in low- and middle-income (LMICs) countries, including the disproportionate effects on girls and women.
• Proactively engage and build relationships with key international policy stakeholders working on the impacts of poverty, inequalities and climate change in LMICs, including policy influencers and practitioners (e.g. governments, donors and civil society), research-to-policy networks and researchers.
• Work closely with the Deputy Director and YL Country Directors to identify opportunities to influence policy debates both internationally and in the four study countries and provide technical support in developing research-to-policy engagement plans.
• Work closely with the YL Head of Communications to ensure research findings and related policy implications are effectively disseminated for maximum impact, including through website and social media, webinars, conferences, policy events and meetings to encourage the maximum uptake and impact of Young Lives evidence. Represent Young Lives at external events and meetings where necessary.
• Provide support to the Young Lives Director and Deputy Director in the development of fundraising proposals and submission of grant applications to generate future Young Lives research income. 

Selection Criteria 

Essential selection criteria 

• Education to Degree level in a relevant subject (e.g. social or public policy, development studies, sociology, anthropology, or economics).
• Substantial experience in a policy analysis/advocacy role within the international development arena, including experience of developing and implementing policy influencing and engagement strategies.
• Proven track record of contributing to high-quality policy-related publications, including policy briefs and blogs. Significant experience of using research evidence to engage with policy and practice.
• Broad knowledge of relevant international policy and practice debates including the cross-cutting impacts of climate change, poverty and inequalities on young people in LMICs.
• Excellent analytical skills, able to synthesise and distil key messages from a wide range of technical academic research and policy reports.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to write quickly for publication, tailor communications to different audiences for maximum user access and impact, and experience of presenting at external events and high-profile meetings.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a large team as well as independently, to prioritise tasks, to manage multiple demands and to work to deadlines. 

Desirable selection criteria

• Experience of writing fundraising proposals.
• Experience of working in a multidisciplinary, multi-national research team and contributing ideas for new research projects.
• Willingness to undertake overseas travel. 

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it. 

Location: Based onsite either Crisis Skylight Merseyside, 96 Kent Street, L1 5BD and partner agencies on a rota basis.

Hours: 35 per week between the hours of 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday on a rota basis

About the role 

As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will: 

• Welcome them to the service on site and at partner agencies,

• Listen carefully and non-judgementally to their story,

• Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,

• Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness.

• Help them formulate a holistic plan and help them take the initial steps, where necessary. 

• Hold a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• Experience of working successfully with disadvantaged/or socially excluded groups and individuals, utilising a psychologically informed approach. 

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accessible, welcoming, and safe ‘front of house’ environment in a busy service. 

• Experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments. You will have empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services. 

• Ability to manage successful relationships with external agencies and relevant service providers and successfully advocate on members behalf. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills used to ensure accurate record keeping on a variety of Case Management Systems/Databases. 

• Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload. 

• The ability to use your own initiative to contribute to the effective running of the service and to work flexibly as part of a team.

Vocations and Placements (18-30) Development Officer

Location: Hybrid (Cliff College Derbyshire or London) or Home-Based

Hybrid Working: Connexional Team staff based at Methodist Church House or Cliff College have a hybrid work pattern which is currently 2-3 days in the office.

The Vacancy

The Methodist Church is at an exciting point in the development of its ministry with young adults (18-30). We are seeking to appoint someone with enthusiasm and passion for seeing young adults connect with God and explore their calling as a follower of Christ.

This role is integral to the delivery of the Young Adult Ministry Development Plan, and will focus on the following priorities:

• The management, development and advocacy of a new Young Adult Mission Placement Scheme, which aims to provide opportunities for young adults to be employed (or volunteer) in mission-focused placements in local churches and circuits where they can explore their vocation.

• Advocating for, supporting and enabling creative and relevant young adult ministry to be started and embedded in circuits and districts by journeying with local circuits/districts, providing advice and mentoring as appropriate to pilot creative projects for young adults to engage with and grow in discipleship and vocation.

An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by the Methodist Church.

This post holds a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a member in good standing of a church in association with Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CBTI) or equivalent.

• In this role you will contribute to the development and launch of a new peer to peer support service for families at risk of, or experiencing mild perinatal mental health issues.
• You will process referrals received from partner organisations and arrange for the correct support (or signposting to other services) to be provided.
• You will work on a one to one basis with families, meeting with them weekly for up to 6 months to ensure they are receiving appropriate practical help and emotional support.

Role Overview: 

As a Young Persons Link Worker, you will be providing social prescribing support to young people, and/or their families. The aim of the role is to help clients improve their health and wellbeing by connecting them to community support. This could include helping people with a range of issues such as coping with social pressures, emotional wellbeing, physical inactivity, financial difficulties, crime, loneliness, bullying, relationship issues, housing issues and family problems. 

The role involves working with professionals in Primary Care, education, social services and other community and voluntary sector services to develop the service.  The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, passionate about supporting people and dedicated to reducing inequalities in the local area.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

Person-centred care and support 

• Deliver effective social prescribing appointments using a holistic and person-centred approach
• Empower clients to take control of their own wellbeing by building their confidence, motivating them to set goals and creating personalised action plan
• Signpost and refer people to local voluntary, community and statutory services that help meet their needs

Communication and Collaboration 

• Work with the Primary Care partners and the Enable Health & Wellbeing Team to develop a social prescribing service that supports young people and families
• Maintain regular contact with primary care teams, providing updates and sharing knowledge of local VCSE organisations
• Develop supportive relationships and work in partnership with local VCSE organisations, community groups, and statutory services to make safe and effective onward referrals

Service Quality and Development 

• Collect and record outcome and monitoring data using required systems, contributing to the evaluation of the programm
• Manage own case load to ensure clients receive appropriate levels of support and expectations are met and keep accurate records of client interactions and record all onward referrals to VCSE service
• Gather client feedback to evaluate the quality of the service and to inform service changes and developments
• Complete Quality Assurance Assessments for VCSE organisations accepting social prescribing referrals to ensure they are safe, effective, and have the support they need to be part of social prescribing

Skills and Experience:  

• At least 2 years’ experience in a role that involves delivering face-to-face support in a relevant health, social care or youth work environment
• At least 2 years’ experience working with/ supporting disadvantaged young people and their families
• Experience of working with the VCSE sector, including with volunteers, small community groups and youth groups
• Experience of partnership working and relationship building across different sectors and organisations
• Motivational interviewing, behaviour change, or health coaching qualification (desirable) or willingness to undertake training (essential)
• Understanding of the challenge’s young people and families within inner London face particularly relating to obesity and mental health issues
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) and other client monitoring systems or tools as required
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range partners including GPs, VCSE organisations and service users
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; able to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a meaningful way
• Able to work flexible hours if required by the post and able to work in various setting
• Able to commute to various service locations across the borough as required

We provide a specialist 1:1 service for young women and girls aged 11-25 living, studying or based in close proximity to Barnet and neighbouring boroughs. 

Our long term, 18 months support, programme engages young women and girls with direct experiences of relationship abuse, sexual violence, intra-familial abuse, exploitation, and/or where there are significant risk indicators present in the young persons life that may increase their exposure to harm. 

Young women and girls are referred through professional, self and peer or familial pathways and will be engaged in weekly or fortnightly support. The service is offered from a space safe for them, including our community spaces, at their home or within their educational setting. 

How our service is different from traditional IDVA models: 

• We offer long term support for up to 18 months, enabling you to build trusted and safe relationships that exceed immediate, crisis intervention and also focus on implementing a support package for continued development once a survivor has achieved immediate safety

• We keep our caseloads low and manageable, supporting no more than 10 young women and girls at any one time. This has been proven to reduce stress and burn out, whilst increasing your capacity to create a targeted and needs-based response for each young person

• Our interventions are holistic and flexible, ranging from trips and outings, to visits in school, at home or a safe local community space. This approach enables you to have more freedom over how the intervention is shaped and delivered, reducing rigidity and any feelings the relationship is impersonal 

• We offer access to a range of healing opportunities outside of the 1:1 Support, including fortnightly group trips with other young survivors to establish connection and reduce isolation, fortnightly group wellbeing workshops, access to Youth Employment opportunities within our creative education curriculum and opportunities to shape the organisation through our independent Youth Board.
