Summary of the role:
The Policy, Advocacy & Public Affairs Officer is responsible for developing and implementing advocacy strategies that advance the organisation’s mission, influence public policy and help achieve strategic priorities. This role involves engaging with policy makers, building relationships with key stakeholders, researching and writing policy positions, planning advocacy campaigns and supporting public affairs initiatives. The Policy, Advocacy & PA Officer will work closely with the Head of Communications to ensure that advocacy and public affairs efforts are integrated into the organisation’s broader communication strategy.
About the Role:
- Identify key policy issues and opportunities for targeted advocacy campaigns to achieve organisational goals.
- Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify key influencers, decision-makers and partners in the public policy space.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of stakeholders and ensure regular engagement with them.
- Maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and other key stakeholders in the public sector.
- Provide updates on legislative, regulatory and policy developments/changes that impact the delivery of our advocacy approaches.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.

- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to conduct policy analysis and develop evidence-based advocacy materials.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
The Infrastructure Team provides the technological foundation for core business functions including network access, hardware and software, printers and remote working. The team is a key support function and provides a customer centric service, providing colleagues with the tools, systems and support they need to carry out their job roles efficiently and effectively.
This role is responsible for supporting the work of the Infrastructure Team providing overall IT Support and being the first point-of-contact to all staff across the UK, including home-based staff, by phone, email, and face-to-face at our office in London.
You will provide a proactive service to all users in diagnosing faults, answering requests, providing training and guides, and timely solutions. You will also maintain the asset registers and helpdesk system ensuring they are kept up to date. You will need strong administrative skills with good attention to detail and the ability to communicate and articulate clearly, written and verbally.
You will support the delivery of technological solutions and services within Independent Age, consistent with organisation plans and strategies, best practice and agreed functional specifications and professional standards.
You should be able to demonstrate experience in a related discipline and/or have technical qualifications including, knowledge of IT service operations with incident management, request fulfilment, access management, and problem management. Excellent customer service skills are also key.
You should also have a basic understanding of Infrastructure management including Active Directory, file structures, and security, along with experience supporting Windows and Mac devices, Office 365, and end-user devices and systems, and working in a busy and dynamic office environment, supporting users in person and remotely.
The postholder will be supported with learning and development, with a potential opportunity to undertake apprenticeship training within the role.

Join our Community Fundraising team in this brand-new role to coordinate our growing Volunteer Ambassador (VA) programme delivering the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of Volunteer Ambassadors, ensuring they are equipped to represent our cause effectively.
As the Community Fundraising Volunteer Officer, you will be a a key point of contact for VAs, handling requests for their support from both internal and external sources. Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

About the role
We are committed to ending the homelessness of more people using our direct services, including people with complex needs. To do this, we are seeking either full-time or part-time Practitioner Psychologists to join our fantastic team in locations around the UK.
In this role, you will be supporting our diverse operation in the heart of London.
You will form part of the local Leadership team, supporting the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs). You will support the delivery of our work to members by offering training and leading reflective practice for staff and providing direct services to members at times.
You will also be a part of a national psychology team made up of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, two Regional Lead Clinical Psychologists, and seven Practitioner Psychologists as well as one Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements.
At Crisis, we understand more and more Practitioner Psychologists are taking on multiple part-time opportunities within the NHS, private practice and the third sector as this has been the case with our own team. Responsibilities of our Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
- Carry out cleaning of cat pens, including litter trays, in the various sections of the centre
- Feed and care for cats requiring additional medical or behavioural treatment as required. This also includes handling

- As required, assist with veterinary runs, this may include driving the Cats Protection vehicle off-site
- Work with volunteers to coach and guide them on cat care duties

What we’re looking for in our Rehoming and Welfare Assistant:
- A full, manual driving license is essential as some driving of centre vans is required
- An excellent communicator with strong empathy
- Excellent customer service skills and experience of dealing with members of the public
- Experience of animal welfare, including feeding, cleaning, medicating and handling and a high level of understanding of how to meet welfare needs of cats
- Resilient with the ability to cope with potentially distressing and emotional situations
- A positive attitude and good at working as part of a team
- An understanding of health and safety and comfortable with manual handling tasks

Summary of the role:
The Community Fundraising Volunteer Officer is responsible for generating income from our community sources (Mosques, Islamic institutes and organisations) in accordance with agreed targets. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To deliver the existing Connected monthly activity groups for adopted children and young people in south east Wales and be part of the development of further services to meet the changing needs of young people.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To work with the service manager and staff from the regional adoption service to continue to deliver the groups for children and young people.
• To deliver and promote all four elements of CONNECT, the Children and Young People’s service within South East Wales, in collaboration with the regional partners and to work with the Adoption UK team to provide national events for adopted children and young people and one to one support, from time to time.
• To work closely with other Adoption UK staff delivering support to parents in Wales to ensure the young adopted person’s whole family is aware of and accessing adoption support services where appropriate
• To organise and supervise the work of the Children and Young People's Support Worker, and representative staff provided by the regional adoption agencies, and volunteers, who help deliver the groups.
• To undertake the processing of referrals and initial engagement with young people and families.
• To work with the young people and their families to establish whether the service is appropriate for them and agree measurable outcomes in line with the guidance provided for the Regulated and Inspection Social Care 2016 Act for adoption services, as advised by the Registered Manager.
• To signpost or refer for other support identified through initial visits.
• To maintain agreed levels of contact with young people and their adoptive family whilst they remain registered with the service.
• To review at regular intervals whether the service is still an appropriate service for the children and young people.
• To plan an annual programme of group sessions and activities for delivery within the agreed budget with the support and direction of the service Manager.
· To take responsibility for the day to day planning and accurate recording of the service activity using the electronic data management system in place.
• To work closely with administrative and business support staff in the Wales office to ensure the booking of venues, activities etc. and gather output and outcome data from the service
• To support office based staff by gathering statistical and other relevant information to support fundraising activities for the service
• To support young people who wish to have their voices heard in national and regional forums and events.
• To attend internal and external training sessions and other meetings as appropriate, in order to learn and remain up to date with adoption issues, relevant policies, working practices and systems and network with other youth work providers in Wales.
