The Finance Manager is a key member of our team. You will be responsible for the accounting and financial management of the charity and its trading company. You will be responsible for reporting on the financial performance to Trustee Board and the Finance Sub-Committee.
In liaison with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will lead on agreeing departmental and overall budgets. You will be responsible with the CEO for ensuring a high quality and effective working of the charity including compliance with all its financial policies and statutory requirements.
This role can be worked flexibly; at home, hybrid, or in our office in Kemp Town Brighton, and on the days and times that suit you, whether that’s mornings, afternoons, or even evenings.
Part time post 18 hours per week, 0.51 full-time equivalent FTE)
Salary £40,000 per annum (pro-rata)

About the role
You will support the Individual Giving team in the delivery of key fundraising strategies across a range of channels and income streams. You will play a key role in driving income at Emmaus UK as well as supporting the fundraising of Emmaus federation partners.

THE ROLE
- We are going through an exciting period of development, with significant opportunity for growth within our corporate partnerships and high levels of interest to build-on and develop. The role would suit someone who is looking to work with a high degree of autonomy and who welcomes the chance to be innovative and strategic, whilst being supported to achieve their goals, working with our Fundraising & Communications team (currently four staff) and collaborating with our regional Network Managers.
About you:
- You will have at least five years relevant experience, ideally with at least three years working in corporate partnerships/fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets. You will be an exceptional communicator with the confidence to work on your own initiative and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will be well organised with excellent attention to detail, work well under pressure and have the ability to think both strategically and operationally. Experience of working with CRM systems is preferred.
- You have a good understanding of the disadvantages faced by both women and those from the least advantaged communities and have a drive to rectify the inequalities that currently exist.
- You understand the time and resource limitations of a small charity, and you thrive on the potential to make a real difference with your work.
Income Generation
- Account manage a portfolio of corporate partners and public sector organisations, to meet operational priorities and annual income targets, providing an excellent supporter experience
- Develop funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with Head of Fundraising and Head of Programmes
- Collaborate with Network Managers on regional corporate partnerships, to ensure consistent supporter experience and identify opportunities for development, as appropriate.
- Manage prospect pipeline with a focus on priority sectors, working within wider capacity for new business
- Promote payroll giving and other employee fundraising activities and campaigns.
- Oversee calendar of third party events, liaising with external partners
- Provide internal management information and reporting to colleagues, as required.
Engagement
- Develop a suite of engagement materials working with Communications Manager and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with Communications Manager on annual communications plans, including fundraising campaigns in support of International Women’s Day and The Big Give.
- Work with Communications Manager to ensure regular updates to website and other digital channels (social, e-newsletters), identifying opportunities for partnership activities.
Stewardship
- Develop account management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
- Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
- Keep all relevant donor contact history and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice.
- Work with Head of Fundraising & Communications and CEO to deliver appropriate partner recognition including events and other engagement activities.

We are seeking a Corporate Partnerships Manager to join our Fundraising and Communications Team (FRC) at an exciting time in GFS’s history as we enter a new strategic period and turn 150 years old, in 2025. You will lead on the delivery of specific aspects of the organisation’s fundraising strategy including developing new income streams with a focus on corporate partnerships. You will develop broader corporate support and individual giving such as corporate volunteering days and challenge events. You will also lead on our annual fundraising campaigns such as International Day of the Girl and International Women’s Day.
You will work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to refine our fundraising plan to diversify income streams across corporate partnerships, individual giving (online and in person) challenge events, volunteering days and campaigns and to:
- ensure that income and engagement targets are met as planned/agreed and in line with GFS’s fundraising strategy and plan
- deliver outstanding stewardship for partners and donors
- maintain effective relationships with potential partners and connections, keeping them engaged with GFS’s ongoing work and impact

The Role
The Senior Individual Giving Officer will act as a source of fundraising expertise in the Direct Marketing and wider development team, as well as the global Development and Marketing teams. Lead on devising a digital strategy that will maximise supporter engagement and acquisition, and thus grow individual giving income, with the input of the Direct Marketing Manager
Mercy Corps Europe's fundraising team is in a growth phase and there are many opportunities to innovate. Creative freedom is very much encouraged and the diversity of the organisation's programmes makes our fundraising work truly varied. There is huge potential in this role to deliver initiatives that will have a significant impact in growing our donor base, including testing new ways of engaging with audiences, integrating marketing across new channels, expanding use of online advertising, SEO and AdWords, harnessing data to create more effective campaigns, engaging thought-leaders and influencers online, and investigating new innovative ways of reaching key audiences.
The ideal candidate will have experience of the latest trends in fundraising and will have both the creative and technical skills to deliver key elements of the direct marketing strategy. They will have demonstrable knowledge of the UK fundraising market, with experience of working across multiple online channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Our stewardship programme is underpinned by our emails and so experience devising communications plans and writing for email is a must. Essential Job Responsibilities
Supporter development
●Lead on integrating online and offline fundraising, offering supporters a cross-platform experience
●Lead on innovating our digital offering - taking ideas from conception through to testing and beyond
●Work with the Individual Giving Officer to innovate our fundraising offerings and find new ways of acquiring supporters
●Ensure that Mercy Corps grows the number of engaged supporters and income across channels to meet targets
●Responsible for day-to-day implementation of digital campaigns and activity (including email, PPC, social, programmatic and display), to deliver against set targets
●With support from the rest of the team, develop and edit digital fundraising content suitable for target audiences, such as prospective online donors or re-engaging lapsed donors, ensuring consistency with Mercy Corps branding and style guidelines

Qualifications and Transferable Skills
●At least five years of experience in a fundraising/marketing role, with proven experience in digital fundraising, including planning and delivering campaigns.

●Experience of setting digital KPIs and developing in-house digital fundraising capabilities.
