• Ability to meet the entry requirements for a Level 3 HR Support Apprentice Programme and undertake the studying and course work required to complete the course.

This innovative role has been created to respond to recent demands for an integrative approach into support delivery of vulnerable adults presenting a severe and enduring mental illness and/or a forensic background, at times in combination with substance misuse.

The post holder will lead on creating a therapeutically informed programme in order to develop a Psychological Informed Environment in the service.

The role would suit an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist who will lead in facilitating therapeutic groups and individual counselling /therapy for service users. On the other side provide support to the staff team in developing their psychological understanding and raising awareness in the emotional impact of working with this client group.

What you'll do:

Adopt and implement a Psychological informed Environment in the service.
To support the team in carrying out holistic assessments on appropriate support plans, and comprehensive risk assessments in full consultation with service-users, their families/carers and other agencies.
To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team working collaboratively to ensure that full information is given (in case of risk) to enable a robust assessment of service-users.
Lead on staff team debriefs following any serious incidents, develop workshops to assist staff in managing stress and wellbeing in the workplace and advise the manager on supportive interventions for the team as a whole
Lead on team reflective practise sessions as well as other creative activities for the team to aid reflection, insight and best practise.
To ensure recovery focused support plans are reviewed, evaluated and amended in accordance with changing needs, presenting risks and individual preferences in order to promote recovery with an attitude of 'positive risk taking'.

About the Service

The Crisis Centre and rest of Nightlight Services (Café’s, Helpline, Daylight provision) is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our helpline, crisis cafes and 24/7 Crisis Centre. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a member of our diverse team, you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect. By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

About the Role

This role is managing a shift, delivering emotional support within a 24/7 four bed crisis house.

Alongside other Crisis Centre Coordinators, to be a key member of the Crisis Centre team, providing effective operational leadership delivering the Nightlight Mental Health Crisis Centre Service. You will be ensuring the delivery and development of quality crisis support services and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision. You will provide management support to Crisis Centre Mental Health Support Workers and support the Crisis Centre Team Leader in ensuring practice within the service is safe, effective and person centred.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing emotional support and developing, alongside service users, flexible and realistic crisis support/person-centred plans within agreed guidelines with support from the leadership team (including assessments of need, risk, crisis support plans and review forms) in person or via telephone.
• Draw upon own lived experience as appropriate to inform the delivery of person centred support.
• Providing immediate advice and information to clients to support with crisis presentations.
• Liaise with Nightlight management and external services e.g. police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental Health Services etc. as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Complete appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standards at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.
• Arranging transport for service users to facilitate access to services as needed.
• You will line manage a number of Crisis Centre Mental Health Support Workers and be part of the operational management for the Nightlight Crisis Centre.

As Grants & Development Officer you will work closely with the Management Team and be responsible for the successful grants and fundraising activity for core and project-based work, as well as developing new income generation opportunities.

Grants, Fundraising and Other Income Generation:

· Undertake regular prospect research to identify potential funding streams and prioritise opportunities based around local, community, and organisational need.

· Work with the Management Team, to identify, apply for and secure funding through appropriate and successful grant and tender applications.

· Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and future sponsors and supporters, including funding organisations and partners.

• Proactively manage the recruitment, selection, and induction of volunteers.

You will support a multi-disciplinary project team drawn from across The National Lottery Community Fund to develop and deliver the Evidence & Impact Strategy. Using excellent project management skills, you will support the team to:

• deliver a programme of internal and external consultation that will inform the strategy’s focus and priorities
• develop the Impact Strategy for publication in January 2025
• develop a detailed delivery plan for colleagues working in Evidence & Impact that will outline the initial activities and actions that they will take to begin implementing the strategy
• monitor progress, address challenges, manage risks and ensure that key milestones and deliverables are met

Back Up’s Regional Outreach and Engagement team are the very face of the organisation and are based across the UK, working directly with spinal cord injury centres, hospitals – or indeed anywhere that people affected by spinal cord injury may be.

As a Regional Coordinator, you will build relationships and take ownership for what happens in your geographical area.
