About the role
The Bookkeeper manages essential financial duties, such as recording financial transactions and allocating income and expenditure to relevant funds, projects and cost centres; processing VAT returns; managing auto-enrolment, etc. The role is central to the business and general administration of the organisation.
The Bookkeeper works with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department in a small but busy head office in Harrow, and has regular contact with the Senior Management Team, and colleagues in all teams across the organisation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for completing all aspects of the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation in an accurate and timely manner.
The organisation uses Sage Accounts 50 (Nominal, Sales/Purchase Ledgers, Stock and Charities modules) and Microsoft Office software packages.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, organise and manage own workload to ensure the organisation’s finance recording and payment processes are achieved in an accurately and timely manner

Process sales/purchase invoices, payments/receipts and banking

Recording and monitoring of petty cash

Reconcile bank/petty cash/credit card/Paypal/stock/fixed assets accounts on a monthly basis

Manage Debtor and Creditor accounts and ensure that outstanding accounts are settled in a timely manner

Ensure full and accurate financial records are maintained, and are filed efficiently and effectively at all times

The UK Men’s Sheds Association (UKMSA) is seeking a skilled and inspirational CEO to lead our charity through the next stage of its development and the continued delivery of our core mission of improving the lives and wellbeing of men (and women) through the Men’s Shed movement across the UK.
We are looking for a Chief Executive with the energy, vision and experience to take on the strategic leadership and direction of our well-respected and fast-growing national charity, which brings tangible benefits to men’s health, mental health and suicide prevention across the UK. • Leadership – the ability to motivate, develop, and deliver through a team of staff and volunteers such that the organisation meets its goals.
• Interpersonal & Communication Skills – these will need to be excellent (including written communication) in order to build rapport and effective relationships across a range of people, from our members to the general public, political figures and senior executives in other organisations. As UKMSA’s public face, the CEO must also be adept at showcasing our work, including in the media and to parliamentary and other government bodies.
• Financial Acumen – the CEO will be expected to operate the budget and develop our new strategy for ensuring sustainable income, actively leading the development of corporate sponsorships and other significant income streams.
• Flexibility & Adaptability – the new CEO will be expected to learn about the world of Men’s Sheds quickly, to be able confidently to represent UKMSA and to build strong relationships within the Men’s Shed community (both within the UK and internationally). And as we only have a staff team of 13 (geographically dispersed), it is expected that the CEO will actively engage in some of the more tactical work, including being ‘hands on’ at events.

ROLE OVERVIEW

RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Demonstrable track record of operating at leadership level (CEO, or similar) within a small-medium size charity.
- Comprehensive understanding of UK charity administration, finance and regulatory responsibilities (e.g. Charity Commission).
- Experience of working strategically to source, secure and steward sustainable funding (grant income and individual giving) working within tight financial constraints.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and processes, safety, and quality management.
- Comfortable with digital/remote working e.g. use of One Drive, Slack, Zoom.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel) and accounting software Xero.
- Excellent written and communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas in simple language.
- Passionate about the charity sector, and AzuKo’s cause.
Desirable
- Knowledge of housing issues/poverty, international development and/or women’s rights.

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. With responsibility for a team of five you will lead and provide statutory, financial and management accounting, including all financial planning and analysis, for the Football Foundation (Foundation) and the Premier League Stadium Fund.
The role:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.
- Lead and work with the SMT, Management Group, PMO Lead, and Data & Insight team to create and maintain financial and cost models to support the development and finalisation of strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts, focusing on the relationship between services, resources, and productivity.
- Work with the CFO in preparing and presenting the consolidated budget and plan to the SMT and ARG Committee.
- Develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making, e.g. assessment of financial sustainability of grant applications and monthly reporting to funders in line with contractual obligations.
- Continue the development and transitioning of the finance team from a mainly transactional team to a team providing forwarding looking information. Enhance collaborative decision making through improved business partnering and transparent reporting.
- Ensure all legal entities comply with relevant legislation and prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, Charity Commission, and other statutory financial returns as appropriate.
- Lead and manage the finance team, motivating and developing them so that that they are clearly focused, competent, and work effectively and efficiently.

Essential criteria:
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.
- Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.
- Knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
- Leading an end-to-end external audit process.
- Developing/improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interpret complex issues at Board level, and to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation including experience of working with non-executives.

Marketing

Discovery is a student-run, charity based at Swansea University. Each year, more than 400 student volunteers deliver community-based projects to enrich the lives of the community around them.
The role of the Volunteering Projects Manager
The Volunteering Projects Manager is responsible for the support, development and effectiveness of our projects. Providing a high level of support, coaching and development to our student volunteer project coordinators.
Salary – £30,124.49 (Please not this is NOT pro rata. Discovery is a 4 day week organisation, the salary specified above is for a 28 hr working week.)
Working hours 28 per week (we are a 4 day week organisation)
Normal working hours will be agreed between 9 and 5.30, Tuesday to Friday with a half hour unpaid lunch break, some out of hours working will be expected for which time of in lieu will be granted. Exact working hours to be agreed with the Director.

As Director of Finance and Operations, you will
· Provide clear financial and commercial strategy and direction;
· Embed all the relevant business, operational and legislative frameworks, policies and working practices necessary for our Trust to thrive, including those associated with compliance, HR, IT, estates, health and safety, marketing and development;
· Ensure sound and appropriate financial governance and risk management arrangements are in place, prepare forecasts and monitor budgets and deliver annual accounts in accordance with the Academies Handbook, ESFA guidelines and all statutory requirements;
· Be responsible for the statutory accounts, financial returns and reports to the Trust board, ESFA, DfE and other statutory bodies in line with guidance and externally determined deadlines;
· Advise our Trust Lead (CEO), Trust Board on strategic financial information and school leaders on all matters relating to the Trust’s resources and assets to enable informed decision making;
· Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of our financial and other operational support services, including the management of the Trust’s finance system and internal controls;
· Provide strategic leadership and management of the Trust’s finance and operations teams, including HR, IT, Estates and governance;
· Be the primary point of contact for all aspects of funding and financial returns, HR, IT and Estates;
· Keep up to date with all funding and legislative changes that apply to the education sector, specifically multi academy trusts;
· Provide the Trust board with regular updates pertaining to the responsibilities of the role.

We are looking for three Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) to join our team in High Wycombe.
The purpose of the role is to engage people in a variety of interventions, using a person centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
All Complex Needs Practitioners (Recovery Worker) work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health and social care. You will join our caring multi-disciplinary teams, to help empower you to provide quality psychosocial interventions to our diverse client groups.
A core part of the role will be working with people to address holistic support needs across all aspects of the person’s substance use and wellbeing. This could include diverse work related to physical and emotional health, meaningful use of time, family and relationships, community engagement and activites, accommodation, physical and emotional health, offending as well as substance use (drug use and / or alcohol use).
An energetic and confident self-starter, you have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we’ll consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care. Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You’ll also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills and a willingness to work flexibly across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.
This is a permanent full-time role requiring the post holder to work 37 hours per week.

We are looking to grow the capacity of our church leadership to support church growth, as we both develop our base within the new Osney Mead Innovation Quarter and expand our activities across the city.

The Role
