Here at Youth4Youth, we have grown a strong, tight-knit community of individuals who are passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of young people across the UK. Our growing team of volunteers all contribute to the ongoing work with a level of time they can commit to across different departments. Our services primarily offer a peer-support network to young people allowing them to access a peer mentor of a similar age and somebody they feel comfortable speaking with. 

If successful, you will be joining a growing team of diverse, but likeminded individuals, collaborating to increase the reach of the Charity and improve support provisions available to young people. All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers, but that doesn't stop us keeping in touch and maintaining a strong positive culture amongst our whole team. 

About the role

As the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for implementing Youth 4 Youth’s (Y4Y) social media strategy to enhance our online presence and engage our audience. This role involves creating compelling content, managing social media platforms, and analysing performance to support Y4Y’s mission and campaigns.

Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with Y4Y’s objectives. 
• Manage Y4Y’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others. 
• Create and curate engaging content to increase brand awareness and community engagement. 
• Collaborate with the Content Creators, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters/Blogger teams to produce high-quality posts. 
• Utilise social media management tools to schedule and monitor posts. 
• Ensure content is consistent with Y4Y’s brand voice and values. 
• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster a positive community. 
• Develop initiatives to grow followers and encourage active participation. 
• Stay updated on social media trends and incorporate them into Y4Y’s strategy.

Why we need you?
The Halifax Charity Gala is organised by a committee of local volunteers in their spare time. The work required to plan and execute the gala is quite large & growing, with Committee members working all year round to support the 40 or so local good causes we represent. This all requires keeping the public (our customers) updated with relevant information, as well as openly engaging with our member organisations & suppliers.

What will you be doing?
Helping to organise Calderdale’s longest-running annual not-for-profit family event! On a more practical level, you’ll be sharing confirmed information (such as the arena acts, the Procession floats, where tickets are on sale) proactively on our social media channels, as well as republishing the posts into relevant groups. You may also post “call outs” for local performance groups, specialist vehicle owners, independent traders, etc to apply to be part of our next event. Furthermore, you’ll respond to any comments/replies/messages received, forwarding the query to the appropriate team internally if required.

As the Social Media Officer, over Gala weekend you will be asked to share photographs captured by our volunteer photographers, repost content shared by members of the public, and schedule “coming next” posts for our timetable of events.

What skills do you need?
You will need to be able to communicate well in written English. You’ll need access to a suitable device which can access Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & X, and you’ll need your own accounts on those (so we can grant you permission to act as our channels).

How much time do you need to commit?
Scheduling proactive posts can be done at any time to suit you; over winter months, this may only amount to an hour per month, but as the event gets closer, could take 2-3 hours per week. Responding to comments/etc varies, though in winter is likely less than an hour per month, but in May & June can be 2-3 hours per week; this can be done flexibly to suit you, if notifications are responded to within a reasonable time.

Regular meetings over the year. These are held on weekday evenings usually once a month; we have an additional one in May as well as two charity meetings a year. You should aim to be able to attend every meeting, however there is provision in our constitution to attend our meetings virtually (via a web browser or mobile app).

As much time as possible over the weekend of the second Saturday in June, although this is not a requirement as we do have some Committee members that cannot help with setup or take down.

What support will you be given?
You can always speak to anyone else on the committee or the one of the other officers. We work as a supportive team and help each other when workloads are high, or life gets in the way.

We're looking for an experienced social media manager with experience in driving engagement growth, good knowledge of SEO and excellent organisational skills. Your ambition and creativity will help us reach even more users and to ultimately raise awareness of the causes we champion.

Our charity delivers a range of awareness campaigns and support services to patients, relatives, partners and carers who have been affected by a poorly understood pain condition; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Little Cell of Mine Foundation, based in Nigeria, empowers individuals with sickle cell disease through healthcare, mental health support, and entrepreneurial training.

Little Cell of Mine Foundation addresses the multifaceted challenges faced by individuals living with sickle cell disease. betterSoil - for a better world

betterSoil is a sustainable start-up and a movement that is passionately committed to the health of our earth's soil.

We are currently losing around 10 million hectares of fertile soil worldwide. That's about 14 million football pitches. However, good soils are the source of more than 90% of our food. At the same time, the world's population will grow to 10 billion people by 2050. Food will therefore become scarce, especially high-quality food, as this depends on the quality of the soil. The effects of climate change are worsening the situation of soils because droughts and extreme rainfall are becoming more severe and more frequent. Current farming methods lead to high CO2 emissions, diseased soils produce low-quality food and biodiversity is rapidly declining, as around half of biodiversity lives in the soil.

Since 2020, betterSoil has been involved at European level, e.g. with an event with the EU Parliament and prominent supporters such as Prof. Dr Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Dr Franz Fischler (Former EU Commissioner for Agriculture) and Dr Peter Johnston (European Policy Centre) in a national and international context to improve soil quality for climate resilience and climate protection as well as the promotion of biodiversity and sustainable food production. Our way of working goes far beyond soil consulting. We combine local, indigenous knowledge with the latest science and offer practice-orientated betterSoil recipes for farmers. We also offer individual consultations for companies and organisations of all kinds. In this way, we create a comprehensive awareness of soil health that helps to position oneself more sustainably and thus achieve business goals.

East London Waterworks Park is looking for volunteers to lead social media and content creation for communications and campaigning for our community-owned park.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces. 

We are looking for social media and content creator leads to participate in our community-led working group who are promoting public awareness and support of the project. 

There is opportunity to lead on projects across communications, content creation, social media, PR, newsletters, film, podcasts or any other channels of interest, and facilitate the direction of the working group.

The Comms Circle currently meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.

You will be at the forefront of our digital strategy to create a huge new biodiverse park and natural swimming ponds. We’re looking for creative and strategic thinkers who can craft compelling narratives and visually stunning content. You should have a deep understanding of social media platforms and analytics tools to measure and optimize our campaigns. Your ability to build and engage with online communities is crucial, as is your skill in managing media relations. We value individuals who are passionate about our mission and can bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the role. You will be comfortable with community-led processes. Contribute to the creation of a new biodiverse community-owned park with free access natural swimming ponds. Your strategic content creation will be instrumental in fostering a strong connection between our community, the park, and its biodiversity. Your input will help us craft compelling narratives that inspire, educate, and engage our service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public, ultimately driving support for the park's mission and ensuring its long-term sustainability.

Social Media Management: 

• Develop, implement, and manage our social media channels. 

• Create and curate engaging content for various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.). 

• Monitor and respond to social media interactions, ensuring a positive community presence. 

• Analyse social media metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make recommendations for improvement. 

Content Creation: 

• Assist in the creation of compelling and informative content for our website and social media channels. 

• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop blog posts, newsletters, and other marketing materials. 

• Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and company messaging. 

Prospect Research for Fundraising: 

• Conduct research to identify potential fundraising opportunities and donor prospects. 

• Assist in maintaining and updating donor databases. 

• Prepare research reports and profiles on potential donors. 

General Administrative Tasks: 

• Provide administrative support to the fundraising and marketing teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing correspondence. 

• Assist with event planning and coordination. 

• Handle various administrative duties as assigned.

There is an ‘ugly’ truth inside the Beauty Industry that simply has to change. Single use plastics, toxic ingredients, greenwashing, animal cruelty and a complete disregard for people, animals and our planet for many years. Many people are unaware that most products may contain ingredients known as Endocrine Disruptors, (EDCs). Recent evidence suggests exposure to EDCs is associated with early onset menopause. Marketing messaging continues to focus on unrealistic images of beauty that have resulted in anxiety, low self-esteem, and low self-confidence in many women, as well as affecting the hormonal journey. It’s time to take a stand, to challenge the large corporations and to provide solutions and alternative options for conscious consumers.

Organic, plant based and cruelty free and I believe passionately in taking less from our earth, a minimalist approach to skincare. About the Role:

We are an Irish based small early stage company, looking for a passionate and strategic Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to help grow our online presence and connect with a like-minded audience. As a purpose-driven brand committed to sustainability, holistic wellness, and women’s well-being, we’re seeking someone who shares our vision and wants to make a real impact.

Our We Make Change volunteers are part of a global movement of professionals dedicated to supporting start ups and small businesses that are creating positive change for people and the planet. If you’re passionate about organic skincare, wellness, and digital marketing, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute engaging social media strategies to increase brand awareness and community engagement. • Create and schedule high-quality content that aligns with our mission and marketing goals. • Monitor performance metrics and optimise strategies using social media analytics. • Identify and collaborate with influencers and like-minded brands to expand reach. • Stay informed on the latest trends in sustainable beauty, wellness, and holistic living. • Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all digital platforms.

Bigger Than Us Residency is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join our team in multiple roles!

Volunteer Opportunities:

• Social Media Management: Work alongside the founder to develop and implement a social media strategy to expand the reach of the charity. (Potential to transition into a paid role once funding is secured.)

• Website Development: Lead the development and enhancement of our website, making it a powerful tool for the residency.

• Partnerships Lead: Play a key role in building relationships with funders, corporate sponsors, and nonprofit mentors. This position is crucial in securing sponsorships, in-kind donations, and guest speakers to support the residency. (Potential to transition into a paid role once funding is secured.)

• Fundraising: Collaborate with the founder to secure grants and develop a fundraising strategy for Bigger Than Us. This role is ideal for entry-level candidates or those looking to gain experience in the fundraising sector. (Potential to transition into a contracted role once funding is secured.)

We are also open to volunteers from other backgrounds not explicitly listed above. Additionally, we welcome volunteers interested in attending and assisting with the residency’s launch in Winter 2025. This will be an international opportunity, and we may be able to provide partial or full funding for travel based on volunteer time and role.
