Our day centre service is currently open three days per-week offering respite, food and somewhere safe to be for anyone facing street homelessness. It provides advocacy and casework services to those who are vulnerably housed or homeless, supporting them to address their individual crisis and the underlying causes. We also provide a small year-round night shelter provision. 

APAP works in close partnership with a number of key agencies locally including drug and alcohol teams, street outreach services, local authority housing teams and the wider VCS. We are a gateway service in the community through which our clients can access a range of support. 

This role will require a keen interest in homelessness and the devastating impact this can have on people. This is a new role which would suit someone with experience of recruiting and managing volunteers. The role will entail expanding our volunteer base, developing processes and procedures to effectively support them and managing them on site. The role will report to the Senior Project Worker.

To provide the excellent service we are seeking to appoint a Grub Club Co-ordinator who will be preparing lunches for our young people with the help of young people themselves, while assisting them to complete their cooking OCN accreditation.  This offers an opportunity for you to join a close-knit team!

Main duties and responsibilities:

• To prepare, cook and serve nutritional balanced food with the young people and staff
• To control portions and food cost management.
• Organise and supervise the food service.
• Allocate duties and responsibilities to the rest of the team and provide general supervision/oversight with the young people helping in the kitchen.
• Ordering weekly food stock on line; establishing and maintaining an appropriate stock control methodology.
• Ensure all supplies of food, equipment and cleaning materials are of the right standard.
• To produce menus and food plans with the young people and staff in accordance with guidelines on nutrition and healthy eating.
• Oversee administration of Cooking Open College Network Entry Level 3, Level 1 and 2 with support.
• Cleaning the kitchen, overseeing and maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules
• Compliance and Health and Safety and Food Safety regulation.
• Monitor the performance of young people assisting in the kitchen and reporting any issues to the Operations Manager or line manager.
• Ensure health, hygiene, and cleaning protocols are carried out in accordance with statutory regulations.
• Assist in the control of costs by monitoring and controlling supplies within the budget and by following through with the recommended menus.

About the Director of Services role

Galop’s services have grown extensively, launching four new services and significantly increasing our numbers of service users, our frontline teams, and our geographical coverage over the last few years. Our Director of Services will oversee our ground-breaking services, ensuring that they are high-quality, sustainable and meet the needs of our community.

You will ensure that Galop maintains high quality, consistent services across all areas of frontline work, as well as contributing to a strong, coherent external voice representing the needs and experience of LGBT+ victims and survivors of abuse. 

This is a pivotal moment in Galop’s journey. Role purpose

1. Main Responsibilities

1.1 Devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with strategic objectives

2. Major Donors

2.1 Growing the scale of donations – both the number of donors and the value of donations by managing an impactful major donor programme for the Trust 

2.2 Use the Trust’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage and grow a pipeline of prospects including high value donors, major donors and potential legators 

2.3 Develop and manage a portfolio of high value donors and prospects to include working closely with appropriate colleagues on research, cultivation, ask and stewardship, including planning and delivery of inspiring events

2.4 Work with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees to appropriately involve them in planning and managing relationships with major donors 

2.5 Develop a stewardship programme, developing meaningful relationships with donors and potential donors, involving them in our work and ensure they feel valued and part of the Trust.

2.6 Manage the Patrons Circle, providing a fantastic experience for WWT Patrons, including delivering engaging events and maintaining regular communication

2.7 Ensure appeal donors receive relevant stewardship communications, including holding specific events and activities

3. Legacies

3.1 Support the development of the Trust's legacy strategy, leading to an increase in number of pledges and value pledged

3.2 Identify and recruit new legacy pledgers including but not exclusively from WWT members and supporters, ensuring a legacy pipeline

3.3 Steward known legacy pledgers to maximize and retain their loyalty to WWT and to maximize their lifetime giving, including their support for current appeals.

3.4 Ensure ongoing engagement with all legators and enquirers by upgrading and conversion through the legacy cycle: enquirer, considerer, intender, pledger 

3.5 Create and run a series of events to engage potential and existing legators and legacy professionals

3.6 Liaise with departments across the Trust in relation to legacy campaigns 

3.7 Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective communication about legacy giving with members, supporters and pledgers/legators

4. General Fundraising

4.1 Support the Trust's new Project Oversights Board, ensuring projects align with the strategy, are fully developed, and help secure appropriate funding

4.5 Work closely with the marketing team to update and improve third party fundraising materials, online material and guidance to enable supporters to fundraise for us independently

The Volunteer Service Coordinator will be part of Womankind’s staff team. She will be highly organised and her key responsibility will be for coordinating Womankind’s Befriending service in South Gloucestershire and the surrounding area.  

Some of the credentials you will need:

· Ability to effectively coordinate volunteers, including recruitment, retention, support, supervision, training, and development.

· Knowledge and understanding of women’s mental health issues, including complex needs related to domestic and sexual violence and its impact on women.

· Relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: volunteer management, counselling and psychotherapy, mental health, sexual violence, domestic abuse, or health and social care.

Salary: £29,000- £32,000

About the role:

This is a great chance to be a part of a service working alongside the Healthcare & Education Department within HMP Bronzefield to identify and support women who are identified as being neurodiverse and will be returning to the community. Of that cohort, the Advocate will focus support on women with a mental health need and improve their transition into the community, with ongoing community support; including collaborating with other healthcare professionals to their develop support plans.

The Senior MH Advocate will work in a multi-disciplinary way, including attending the weekly complex case meeting and/or the Safety Intervention Meeting (SIM) as appropriate, they will act as a specialist member of the wider Minerva Criminal Justice Service - London team, to facilitate a pathway for women with complex needs including mental health and neurodiversity needs. The Senior Advocate will create a link between prison and the community, helping women to navigate support services and to positively re-integrate into their community upon release. They will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling to support them to address their needs and any risks. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women.

The Senior Mental Health Advocate will be based in the community and will provide a drop-in service (1-2 day per week) in HMP Bronzefield to support women who are close to release. The role will also include line management of other advocates such as; Specialist Prison & Probation Advocates who will be based in the prison and the Loss & Bereavement Worker who will be providing support in the prison as well as in the community.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Senior Mental Health Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

An excellent understanding of mental health, neurodiversity needs violence against women and girls and its links to women in the criminal justice system

Experience of managing/supervising a team of advocates/caseworkers – and leading a team to achieve targets & outcomes as well as appropriately managing and leading the team on any safeguarding concerns/incidents.

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Key Tasks

• Line Manage the Communications Officer
• Develop and implement the strategy and business plans for your communications and engagement.
• To drive legal and compliance standards and take full responsibility for those within your area.
• Lead the successful implementation of a communications strategy for FY 2025-2027.
• Raise the profile of Community Impact Bucks, of the VCSE sector in Buckinghamshire, and of voluntary and community action in the county.
• Identify and develop partnership opportunities and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to extend the reach of the charity’s communications.
• Ensure that all Marketing, PR and Communications materials, publications and messaging are consistent with brand, targeted and reflect and enhance the reputation of the charity.
• Develop content e.g. writing all comms plans, messaging, newsletter copy (for partners to use), press releases, social media, copy for flyers, posters, case studies.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of our communications: analysing trends, outcomes, using evidence to inform service development.
• Prepare budgets and plan and manage the allocation of resource to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of communications activity. 
• Oversee digital planning and content production, with a strategic oversight of the website and social media channels as well as new digital products.
• Oversee the charity’s social media channels, increasing engagement with relevant audiences and creating content.
• Oversee, write and edit content for the Charity’s website, working with staff, volunteers and contractors as necessary to improve content and user experience.
