We are looking for a Project Lead (peer support) who will manage all aspects of a new project, from developing detailed plans and timelines to collaborating with our steering committee to define objectives and success criteria. You’ll take charge of volunteer management, ensuring adherence to policies, leading recruitment and training sessions, and providing ongoing support to our dedicated volunteers. By building strong links with the community and engaging with existing support groups and healthcare professionals, you’ll help to create a robust network for those affected by ovarian cancer. Additionally, you’ll oversee communication strategies, produce high-calibre progress reports, and continuously evaluate the project’s impact. This project is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund
The role is a full time, 35 hours per week, 3 year fixed-term contract position.
We currently offer a hybrid-working model. This means you may usually work from your home or remote location, but are expected to attend meetings and pay for your own travel to the office in Angel, London when required. Job Purpose:
The Head of Brand and Content plays a lead role in managing the brand, overseeing the production of content, coordinating content across all channels and ensuring that it follows MSF’s objectives in terms of operations, fundraising, advocacy and recruitment.
In close collaboration with the Director of Communications, you would lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s brand and content strategy.
You would manage and support a team of content producers in line with our best practice management standards; appraising, coaching, mentoring and supporting your team and ensuring they are fulfilling their objectives to the best of their ability. You will also ensure that your team supports content producers in other teams by ensuring products adhere to brand guidelines and by providing copywriting and editorial support, audio-visual materials and graphic design services.
You will operate collaboratively across multiple departments and teams within MSF UK, including Fundraising, HAARP (advocacy) and the Manson Unit to ensure quality and strategic alignment of cross-departmental communications initiatives. You will also serve as a focal point for discussions on content management across the international MSF movement, of which MSF UK is a member.
Knowledge, Skill & Experience:
- Demonstrable experience of devising and delivering communications strategies to advance the aims of an organization
- Extensive knowledge of the principles of brand management and brand practice
- Demonstratable knowledge and senior experience of digital and print production processes, content gathering, content management systems, copywriting/editorial, audiovisual and graphic design, or a mixture of these
- Outstanding organisational and strategic skills with the ability to handle large volumes of work, track multiple projects or activities at any one time
- Significant leadership and line management experience with proven ability to communicate and engage with diverse stakeholders, as well as the ability to “manage upwards”
- Superior interpersonal and networking skills and ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Experience of working in a dynamic, complex organisation
- Experience managing communications-specific risks and demonstrable awareness of best practice within humanitarian contexts, particularly in areas of safeguarding and EDI
- A strong understanding of and engagement with global current affairs and the communications environment within which MSF operates

Pembroke House is a centre for community, creativity and collective action in Walworth. We work across two buildings in Walworth: Pembroke House and All Saints Hall. One of our core activities is the Walworth Living Room (WLR), a space where people can hang out, enjoy various activities, build relationships with each other, eat, learn, share and create. We’re seeking a talented individual who can tell our story and help secure vital funding from trusts and grant-makers.
The Role
Trusts and other grant-makers are an important source of funding for our charity and the relationships we have with new and existing funders are more important than ever. This is where you come in.
As our Trusts Fundraising Officer, you’ll be an inspiring storyteller whose enthusiasm for our work shines through in your writing. You’ll play a key role in researching new funders, crafting compelling funding applications, and ensuring we meet reporting requirements for existing supporters.
Your work will involve developing impactful case studies and gathering evidence to show the need for our services to help secure sustainable funding. You’ll be supported by our experienced Trusts Fundraising Manager to build lasting relationships with funders. Together, you’ll keep them engaged and informed about the positive impact they’re making on the young people we support.
What We’re Looking For:

Outstanding communication skills – You can write clearly, persuasively and passionately. You’re confident speaking to others about the charity’s work.

Writing experience – You have experience writing successful funding applications, proposals, or compelling articles, ideally but not necessarily with a fundraising focus

Fundraising experience - You may not have written a grant application before but you should have some paid or voluntary experience in a fundraising capacity.

Attention to detail – You take pride in your work, have a good eye for detail and a thorough approach.

Self-motivation and organisation – You’re able to manage your own time and prioritise effectively.

Passion for the outdoors and youth development – You understand the importance of giving vulnerable young people outdoor experiences and are willing to put on your waterproofs and join in on our activities and camps to witness first-hand the difference the Youth Adventure Trust makes.

Willingness to learn - if you think you have what it takes but don’t have lots of experience as a Trusts Fundraiser, this role comes with plenty of scope to develop your writing skills and gain experience within a supportive team environment.

At the Youth Adventure Trust, we use outdoor adventure and one-to-one support to empower vulnerable young people from Swindon, Wiltshire and Somerset to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future. We work with them to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime, helping them to face the challenges in their lives.
Dedicated support, guidance and mentoring from our staff and volunteers ensures young people receive the maximum benefit from our long term intervention. Our aim is to make a lasting improvement to the lives of vulnerable young people.
We’re proud to offer our programmes completely free of charge to participants, and with ambitious plans to help more young people, our fundraising efforts are more important than ever.
