We are seeking a talented individual to join our driven team to help us fundraise for our multi-million-pound programme of investment in the children’s hospital and NICU.
This exciting role offers a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring and multi-talented individual to develop their career in a fast-paced and ambitious charity. You’ll need great organisational skills to manage multiple activities, strong written communications skills and be a talented and highly motivated team player. You will have a background in fundraising or events and will have the ability to look after our amazing supporters through outstanding stewardship.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Events Fundraiser to ensure that the events programme expands and grows from strength to strength. You will be able to engage, motivate and influence a wide range of people, including members of the public and key stakeholders. Enthusiasm, initiative and energy are important attributes for the role.
The successful applicant will help organise the charity’s events fundraising portfolio and steward participants to generate income. Our current portfolio includes Wallace & Gromit-themed events such as Wallace & Gromit’s Wrong Trousers Day, charity-led challenge events such as our new Three Peaks Challenge, as well as third-party challenge events such as skydives and half marathons. You will also help deliver key supporter stewardship events, working alongside the Corporate and Philanthropy Teams.
2025 is an exciting year as our Gromit Unleashed 3 public arts trail will take place over the summer. Gromit Unleashed 3 follows three trailblazing and award-winning public art trails from Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, in partnership with Aardman. To date these award-winning events have generated over £20 million to support Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role will have the opportunity to be part of the trail and will support the execution of the highly anticipated trail Exhibition and Auction.

The Research and Evaluation team are a vital part of the new Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) directorate. The team provide excellent research and evaluation products and services for the charity - central to this work is the Outcomes Framework, our collaborative programme across disciplines to help us better evidence the impact of our work with children, young people and families.
We're looking for a new leader for our Research and Evaluation function. Our ideal candidate is someone who deeply understands and has experience of research and evaluation, and of leading the ongoing development of impact measurement frameworks, preferably in the field of children and young people. Suitable candidates would also have experience of leadership of a strong team of subject matter experts to deliver excellent provision of research and evaluation products and services.
This role reports to the Director of Digital, Data and Technology, and is a member of the DDaT leadership team.
This is a hybrid-working role, with an expectation that the majority of time will be spent working from home. Occasional attendance at Barnardo's offices and professional settings would be an expectation, as and when needed, to provide team leadership and direction, and contribute to the leadership of the directorate and wider charity. Whilst difficult to estimate, attendance in-person is likely to be no more than 2 or 3 days per month, averaged over the year.

Purpose of role:
FareShare South West’s (FSSW) fundraising need and strategy has developed and diversified rapidly in line with major growth since 2017. As a charity we annually raise over £700k in fundraised income from trusts and foundations, corporate donations, individual donors, major donors, community fundraising and events. In the next year this is set to grow as we plan exciting new services across Bristol, Devon, and Cornwall.
The Grants Manager (GM) is a new fundraising role that will be vital in supporting our growing team with bid writing to grant-making trusts and foundations. Trust and foundation income has historically been the biggest source of fundraised income for FSSW, which we aim to grow further over the next three years.
We are looking for an individual with experience of researching and writing applications to secure five and six figure grants from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources. With excellent spoken and written communication skills they will be happiest writing applications and reports. The GM will be responsible for securing income for capital and revenue-based projects, from both existing and new funders, leading on larger budget (£15k+) applications.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Build and manage a robust pipeline of medium-large value funding applications, securing grants of £15,000+ from trusts, foundations, and, where required, statutory bodies.

Sustain and grow income from medium and large trusts and foundations through applications, effective stewardship, and timely reporting.

Develop an in-depth knowledge of FareShare South West’s impact and operations in order to craft compelling fundraising proposals, reports, and fundraising campaigns.

Develop and nurture relationships with existing and prospective funders, delivering outstanding stewardship.

Work with the Head of Fundraising (HOF), Senior Leadership Team and Finance Manager to create restricted project budgets.

Work closely with wider FareShare South West’s operations, volunteering, membership, and food teams to collect quantitative and qualitative data to measure outcomes for funder reports.

Lead on the reporting schedule for all grant funders, ensuring timely reporting. Support the Trusts and Grants Officer with small grant reporting.

Analyse monthly grants fundraising performance against targets and KPI’s, and report to the HOF on progress.

Develop a good understanding of the capabilities of the CRM database (Donorfy) to be able to pull detailed reports to inform strategy / team decision making, alongside regularly updating with all your grant donor data.

Work with the wider fundraising team on income analysis and development of annual goals (KPIs) and the multi-year fundraising strategy.

Stay up to date with developments and trends in grant fundraising.

Person Specification
Essential knowledge, skills & experience – evidence required:

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Art Director to join our award-winning in-house creative team. This is your chance to shape compelling campaigns that inspire action, drive awareness, and create a tangible impact. You’ll lead some projects independently while receiving support and guidance from the Creative Lead when needed. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation, creating communications for teams in fundraising, campaigns, services, and occasionally retail.

Job Description
The purpose of this role is to raise LMK’s profile and to engage LMK’s stakeholders in our services, campaigns and fundraising efforts by delivering impactful content across all of our online and offline communication channels in alignment with our vision, mission and strategic objectives. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating quality communications, you will lead our PR and media work, be skilled in creating engaging video content and add your expertise to developing and delivering our social media, website and stakeholder communications.
Reporting to our CEO, the successful candidate will job-share with our established 2 day-per week Marketing & Communications Manager. As a member of LMK’s core staff team, you will work with LMK staff, LMK Leaders (youth workers who deliver our workshops to young people), members of our Youth Advisory Board, trustees and key stakeholders to develop and implement our brand, marketing and social media strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand
- Co-develop LMK’s marketing strategy, leveraging key stakeholder input and action plans to support it
- Co-ownership of the execution of all marketing activities and materials, ensuring they reflect the brand and the values of the charity
- Lead the planning and execution of PR and media campaigns, leveraging media contacts, ensuring LMK has engaging media materials and our spokespeople are fully prepared to maximise media opportunities

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our small and dynamic team during an exciting period of growth for the organisation. - Proven track record of achieving fundraising income targets and delivering successful campaigns and appeals.
- A strategic, organised approach with ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Excellent line management and effective leadership to achieve success.
- Experience of face-to-face fundraising with donors at all levels and specialist networking skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, individual donors, corporate partners, senior teams and volunteers
- Confidence in public speaking, with exceptional marketing and communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to write persuasive, motivational cases for support and appeals including highly complex, sensitive information on potential projects to secure funding.
- Analytical approach to complex donor and grant reporting, (including analysis of performance data, qualitative and quantitative assessment of projects and return on investment).
Self-motivated and outcome driven, you will have a strong work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail. A team player with excellent financial acumen, you will have a fun and collaborative approach with the ability to lead and motivate.
Please note that there will be a requirement to undertake some unsociable hours including some weekend work.
