As Director of Research, you will work closely with our CEO and will be responsible for:
- horizon scanning and landscape reviews to deliver our research strategy and ensure its continued relevance.
- research funding competitions to deliver at least £5m new research per annum.
- ongoing grant management of a £30m grant portfolio.
- reviewing and creating funding schemes to address unmet need.
- our framework for impact evaluation.
- wider development of the charity through membership of our Executive Leadership Team.
We are looking for candidates with:
- significant experience working in a biomedical sciences research/funding environment.
- significant experience of research funding competitions, peer review, and grant management.
- experience of the evaluation of research outputs and impact.
- experience of motivating and managing a team.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to evidence relationship building with senior stakeholders and acting as an organisational representative.
- a PhD in biomedical sciences or a degree in biological sciences (or equivalent experience) with extensive experience working in a biomedical sciences funding environment.

As the Senior MEL Officer in the MEL team, you will support the Head of Impact & Learning and the MEL Manager, as well as the Programmes & Impact department and wider team, to measure and analyse the quality and impact of our programming. Department purpose

IPS Grow is a national programme designed to support the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services in mental health and drug & alcohol teams across England. It is funded by NHS England and Improvement (NHSE/I), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), and Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). A core element of the programme is the expert assistance provided by a team of IPS experts, known as IPS Grow Leads, to support providers to improve their fidelity to the IPS model and achieve better employment outcomes for their clients. Subject to funding award, we are recruiting to a Project Support Officer. This role will provide essential support to enable the whole team to effectively and efficiently deliver a wide range of provision to IPS services nationally.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to expand the IPS Grow team, aimed at helping health systems deliver high quality evidence-based employment practice. We are a well-established service, led by Social Finance and are funded by NHS England and DWP to support the expansion of IPS services across mental health and drug and alcohol teams.
We are looking for a Project Support Officer to focus on supporting the IPS Grow team and programme within the Health + Work team at Social Finance. This role will include providing project and administrative support to the team to ensure we have real impact. The role will report into the Team Head for IPS Grow.
Responsibilities
The key requirements of the role are:
Provide project support and coordination of IPS fidelity reviews:

Support the coordination of IPS fidelity reviews;

Support with collection and collation of data, helping generate insight and contribution to the evaluation of our work and of the services we support. This may also include data entry and contributing to standard reports;

The Senior Impact & Performance Analyst (SIPA) is essential to advancing Impetus's mission through providing a clear picture of both the impact of our portfolio partners and the effectiveness of Impetus's support. This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented team player passionate about driving social impact. Collaborating closely with the Investment Director - Impact Lead, the SIPA will manage end-to-end data processes, from collection through to analysis and reporting, ensuring data remains accessible and actionable. The SIPA will additionally develop performance management tools, such as those within Salesforce, and champion organisation-wide data accessibility.

Key responsibilities
1. Data collection and management
- Map annual performance reporting calendar for all relevant stakeholders.

Job Title: Head of Grants

About Us
The Veterans’ Foundation (VF) is an independent grant-making charitable foundation. It has established a substantial grants’ programme to support charities and organisations in the UK that provide charitable support to those in need among serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families. The charity has grown rapidly since inception in July 2016 and has to date (Oct 24) given away more than £25M to good causes and handed out around £1.6M to good causes each quarter for the past year.
The VF supports a broad range of charities and organisations that deliver a wide variety of projects to members of the armed forces’ community including those that reduce homelessness, increase employment, provide welfare and medical support, increase confidence and social integration, as well as reducing dependence on alcohol and drugs. You will be empowering charities and under-represented creative talent, helping them gain AI skills to bridge the growing AI divide and prevent marginalised communities from being further excluded or disadvantaged.
The programme will provide AI essentials training to two of Media Trust’s key beneficiary stakeholder groups: (i) small charities advocating for and supporting marginalised communities, and (ii) talent from under-represented backgrounds working, or aspiring to work, in the media and creative industries.
The programme is funded by Centre for Public Impact with support from the Google AI Opportunity Fund and we'll delivering free bespoke AI training developed by Google and external partners.
You will be responsible for designing the delivery calendar and managing the launch and delivery of this ambitious programme, which will run from January to December 2025. About the role
We’re looking for a case study officer to join our talented and ambitious press, PR and celebrity team.
The successful candidate will support all elements of the charity’s case study function including recruiting and engaging new individuals with the charity who are willing to share their personal experiences of breast cancer to support our work and managing and nurturing key relationships day-to-day so they have the best possible experience when supporting the charity.
A key element of the role will be supporting colleagues in the press, PR and celebrity team to identify and seize opportunities for case studies to share their experiences to raise awareness of breast cancer, Breast Cancer Now and how we’re here for anyone affected by this devastating disease.
You’ll will work with teams across the organisation to support them in sharing the voices of people affected by breast cancer through their work. Liaising closely with colleagues to understand where case study support is required, you’ll identify the people who, through sharing their personal experiences, can best support activities to deliver on charity objectives. Key to this will be gathering the relevant insight and identifying ways we can engage case studies with our work in a way that’s mutually beneficial.
About you
You’ll have a good understanding of issues impacting people affected by breast cancer. With this you’ll have an awareness of, sensitivity to and ability to adapt to their changing needs and circumstances and how this might impact their ability or wish to support the charity’s work.
When engaging individuals with sharing their story to support us, you’ll approach this work with professionalism, sensitivity and care at all times, being sure to identify opportunities bring about mutual benefit for both parties.
Handling sensitive information appropriately at all times is key to this role, and requires you to have a knowledge of GDPR regulations and a commitment to[VS3] following Breast Cancer Now’s compliance and confidentiality regulations. You’ll also be proficient in using CRM tools to store and record interactions and sensitive data relating to supporters.
A strong verbal and written communicator with high levels of organisation, you’ll be prompt in responding to supporters and colleagues appropriately and with clear and accurate information. You will also be a quick learner and work well as part of a fast-paced press, PR and celebrity team.

Are you passionate about driving impactful medical research? We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Impact Officer who will assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the Medical Research Foundation’s research to ensure our funded projects make a real-world difference.
This is an exciting time to join us as we have recently launched our new five-year strategy. Reporting to our Senior Research Impact Manager, you will play a crucial role in helping us to achieve our mission to drive the life-changing advances of tomorrow by laying the foundations for ground-breaking new discoveries today. We know that many health conditions are overlooked and underfunded, that new health threats will continue to arise, and that there will always be a need for high-quality, high impact medical research.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Coordinate the monitoring of the research portfolio by providing day-to day administration and processing annual and end-of-grant reports.
- Support the ongoing evaluation projects, and other data collection points such are interviews with grant holders.
- Assist with the on-going development of grant monitoring tools
- Contribute to reports on impact reporting for our Board of Trustees and wider external audiences.
- Work closely with the Communications team to produce a regular research/researcher case studies.
- Work with the Fundraising team to contribute to materials to tell the stories of the impact of our research to help to raise funds for new research.
You are a motivated and enthusiastic colleague who will help us monitor a diverse research portfolio. You have excellent analytical and communication skills, you are well organised and have the ability to prioritise and work on various projects concurrently. You will use your scientific knowledge to understand the science behind the projects and will develop a detailed understanding of the outputs and impact arising from the research we fund to help communicate their impact. We would like to hear from you if you can:
- Demonstrate experience working or volunteering in a science-related environment
- Analyse complex datasets to extract meaningful insights and visualise data
- Understand complex scientific information presented in reports or publications and explain in a simple way
- Demonstrate an interest in scientific affairs or medical research.

Our offer
We will offer a salary of £32,000-£35,000 dependent on experience for a full-time 36-hour week and double-matched pension contributions up to 10% max employer contribution. We would like a full-time employee but are happy to consider a part-time contract (min 0.8 FTE). We offer 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata) per year, excellent financial, health and social benefits and an opportunity to join a dedicated team making a difference to human health. We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week with the option to work remotely for the remainder.
