Conferences & Housekeeping Managerop
We are looking for a proactive and friendly person to be our new Conferences and Housekeeping Manager. The successful applicant will take responsibility for delivering high standards of hospitality and service for all guests, students and residents, for promoting our conference facilities with potential and existing users and for the smooth and effective functioning of our Conferences and Housekeeping department.
The appropriate person for the role should have strong communication skills, be a good team player and have the ability to work in a changing environment, as well as having a vision to promote and develop Conferences as part of the mission of the College.

Line Manager: Head of Operations

Location: Easneye site, Ware (accommodation is available on site if required)
Salary: £24,600 pro rata per annum
Start: January 2025 or as soon as possible
Working Conditions
Hours of work: This role will be full time or part time (30 - 37.5 hours per week negotiable). Working hours at college are 8.40am - 5.10pm. However, a degree of flexibility is required in case of emergencies and to fit in with the arrival of guests and new students. Occasional weekends and evenings required.
Holiday: 30 days per annum (pro rata) plus 6 of the 8 bank holidays when they fall on a normal working day.

The Role
In this role, no two days will be the same but here’s the types of thing you may get up to:
- Strategic planning and identifying opportunities to develop new business
- Networking at healthcare, nursing or other commercially relevant conferences

- Taking ownership for organising fundraising events which may include House of Lords events and Edith Cavell Memorial Wreath Laying events

Your Role
We are seeking a Senior Communications & PR Leader to drive impactful internal and external communications and strengthen our global network. You will be responsible for developing and executing a dynamic communications strategy while building strong relationships with media partners to raise awareness of our global alliance and its achievements. This is a hands-on role ideal for a candidate who excels at strategic thinking but is also comfortable with content creation using own copywriting and visual skills, as well as guiding other content creators from volunteering partners.
We are looking for someone who shares the DfG mission, has a passion for storytelling, and excels at strategising and delivering innovative communication and PR initiatives. Additionally, the ideal candidate will also possess exceptional communication skills to engage effectively within our global network, connecting diverse audiences and their communication departments. The Communication & PR leader will collaborate with programme staff, and senior management to deliver compelling content across various platforms, including digital marketing, press, branding and storytelling initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Communication Strategy: Develop and implement a communications strategy to elevate DfG’s global visibility and impact.
- Public Relations & Branding: Build and strengthen relationships with press contacts, and public relations partners to expand DfG’s reach. Enhance and promote our brand to ensure consistent messaging and representation.
- Content Development: Lead and create content for various channels, including the website, social media, events, annual reviews, and press releases
- Content Execution: Plan, coordinate, and deliver communication activities in partnership with alliance communication leads and external partners.
Key Requirements:
- Passion for DfG's mission to improve life through design
- Senior-level experience in communications, and public relations ideally in an NGO, charity or mission-driven organisation.
- Strong public relations network and a proven track record of securing media coverage for a global organisation.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, with strong storytelling abilities (additional languages are a plus).

HOPE not hate is the UK’s leading anti-fascist organisation. Our mission is simple: To monitor and challenge the far right, to engage in the communities that are susceptible to them and to address the issues and policies which give rise to them.
The 2024 summer riots laid clear the susceptibility within communities for far-right narratives. Locally, many stakeholders are struggling with providing alternatives that combat this framing.
As part of our wider community resilience work, we will be hosting a series of community events across the country, with the aim of celebrating local identity, strengthening social connection and boosting resilience to far-right agitation. We have a history of planning these events in the communities that need them the most, for example in Bradford.
About the role
The Events Administrators (X2) will be assisting our Community Outreach Officer to deliver community events across the country in our target areas, at the end of May/beginning of June. This includes 4 confirmed events in Southport, Sunderland, Wigan and Port Talbot, with the potential for lighter-touch facilitation to support volunteer-run events in up to 5 more areas.
This role will involve frequent travel to our target areas to meet with local partners. Willingness to work with a variety of stakeholders is important. The role will include liaising with local authorities, national and local organisations and grassroots community activists to deliver the events. THE ROLE
The Fundraising Manage (Trusts & Foundations) role would suit someone who is looking to work with a high degree of autonomy and who welcomes the chance to be innovative and strategic, whilst being supported to achieve their goals. The role is within our Fundraising & Communications team of four staff and works in collaboration with regional Senior Network Managers. Income generation
- Primary focus of the role is the responsibility for Trusts & Foundations fundraising, to meet annual targets.
- Develop compelling funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications, Programmes and Monitoring, Research, Evaluation & Learning.
- Maintain an up to date pipeline of prospects through research and excellent record keeping, ensuring that applications are made to meet known deadlines.
- Ensure that all reporting and grant monitoring is delivered in a timely manner, working closely with the MERL Manager and colleagues across Programmes.
- Provide internal management information and reporting to the Head of Fundraising on a quarterly basis, or as required.
Stewardship
- Develop data management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
- Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
- Keep all relevant donor and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice, as defined by the Fundraising Regulator and other sector bodies.
- Work with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications and CEO to deliver appropriate partner recognition including events and other engagement activities.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You will have at least five years relevant experience, ideally with at least three years working in fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets. You will be an exceptional communicator with the confidence to work on your own initiative and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be well organised with excellent attention to detail, work well under pressure and have the ability to think both strategically and operationally. Experience of working with CRM systems is preferred.
You have a good understanding of the disadvantages faced by both women and those from the least advantaged communities and have a drive to rectify the inequalities that currently exist.

The Mudlarks Community is a Hertford based charity supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities and mental health concerns.
Purpose of the post
HDR UK and the BHF Data Science Centre are committed to meaningful involvement and engagement where patients and the public are actively involved in shaping our work and decision-making. Reporting to the Centre’s Operations Director, this is a pivotal role that will be integral to ensuring the patient and public voice is embedded in our work at all stages.
You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for PPIE activity across all of our key areas of interest, in addition to the governance of the Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for meaningful involvement and engagement of patients and the public, to shape and influence our work on the safe, ethical and scientifically robust use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.
The successful candidate will have a track record in working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. The post holder will have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, experience of working on complex projects with multiple partners and be comfortable with working at pace. Patient and public involvement and engagement in data-driven research is a growing field. Main responsibilities
Embedding PPIE in our work
- Lead on the delivery of the PPIE strategy for the BHF Data Science Centre, with oversight from the Operations Director, incorporating regular (e.g. annual) reviews and updates of the strategy.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with public contributors to integrate meaningful PPIE throughout all aspects of our work.
- Undertake and manage specific involvement and engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, engagement events, developing and undertaking surveys, supporting the writing of plain English summaries of projects and their outputs. In collaboration with senior colleagues, support involvement of patients and the public in the governance of our work.
- Review and provide advice on PPIE elements of research applications ensuring adequate PPIE is incorporated and provide advice where needed to researchers.
- Develop methods to expand reach and ensure diversity of perspectives and work with the HDR UK PPIE team to grow involvement of currently underrepresented and underserved groups in health data science.
- Build and manage relationships with colleagues within the BHF Data Science Centre, working collaboratively to support and manage involvement and engagement across all areas of work.
- Work closely with the internal communications colleagues to create and disseminate engaging content (e.g. news stories on outputs and impact, videos, infographics, case studies) on our work and involvement and engagement activities using a variety of communication tools.
- Horizon scan and liaise with colleagues across the BHF Data Science Centre and HDR UK for opportunities to increase visibility of the institute’s engagement and involvement impact, i.e. through conferences, festivals, journals and other publications.
Developing PPIE best practice and collaborative working
- Incorporate best practice in our work, learning from examples of successful patient and public engagement that could influence our work
- Provide briefings for colleagues to share best practice and examples of successful patient and public engagement
- Collaborate with PPIE colleagues to coordinate public outreach initiatives and other events, ensuring that stakeholders are afforded opportunities to contribute their input and provide feedback. Establish effective working relationships and ‘ways of working’ with strategic partners to maximise opportunities for collaboration in patient and public involvement and engagement.
- Act as an internal and external ambassador for public, patient and practitioner engagement and involvement.
- Monitor and report on performance of PPIE across the Centre, make effective use of digital approaches to maximize the ability to collaborate, communicate and continuously learn.
Supporting PPIE members
- Be the point-of-contact for all BHF Data Science Centre public contributors, ensuring they are kept updated, receive all information in a timely manner and that any issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner.
- Lead on the recruitment of new public contributors as required. Adapt, develop and provide training for public contributors where necessary identifying training requirements as needed.
- Working with BHF Data Science Centre colleagues, maintain patient and public contact lists in Hubspot (CRM).
