As a Junior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Buyer and wider team in managing the range life cycle, strategic planning, and product development. You will work closely with suppliers, ensuring product quality and optimising stock availability.

In this position you'll collaborate closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders including UK suppliers, Marketing, Merchandising and store field teams.

About you 

We are looking for someone with experience in a Retail Head Office buying environment, preferably at the assistant buyer level. 

You should have excellent negotiation and communication skills, a proven track record of success in buying goods, and a passion for retail, especially within the charity sector. 

To succeed in this role you will:

• Proven track record of success in buying, product development, range planning and margin enhancement in a retail environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven success in Individual Giving fundraising, with experience in acquisition and retention strategies.
• Extensive experience in direct marketing and income generation across various media, driving growth in donors and income streams (retention, cash, in-mem, lottery, legacy).
• Strong track record in securing income through lottery schemes, including managing canvassing agencies, Gift Aid, and gambling compliance.
• Data-driven, experienced in setting and reporting on KPIs to drive results.
• Effective leader within both their team and the wider organisation.

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Philanthropy Manager who is passionate about high value fundraising, relishes the challenge of growing a pipeline and is motivated by UNHCR’s work.

You will join our small but talented Philanthropy Team playing a key part in identifying and bringing on board new, prospective donors, as well as growing relationships and income from donors already supporting UK for UNHCR.

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate donor relationships, and to inspire and engage new supporters. An experienced fundraiser, you will provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme. 

You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing prospect pipelines and crafting compelling donor communications.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

• Grow prospect pipeline and the number of donors donating £10K+ to UNHCR’s work. 
• Grow UK for UNHCR’s sustainable income by growing the number of multi-year donors funding our programmes outside of emergencies. 
• Work with the wider international organisation to identify the most appropriate funding propositions for donors. 
• Craft compelling propositions and proposals for major donors and ensure quality and timely reporting back on gifts made. 
• Work closely with the IG team to manage the transition of mid-value donors to the major donor programme. 
• Engage existing and selected prospect major donors in the event of humanitarian emergencies. 
• Work independently and with the prospect researcher to gather up-to-date and accurate information on existing and prospect major donors and to develop network maps. 
• Maintain accurate records, including Salesforce and UK for UNHCR’s databases for income recording and earmarking. 
• Working with the wider team to contribute to the delivery of bespoke philanthropy activities such as roundtables and webinars. 
• Help to position and raise awareness of UK for UNHCR’s role among peers, donors and other audiences by participating in sector networks and representing UK for UNHCR at events. 
• Work within UK for UNHCR’s due diligence policy and processes. 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
 
Essential Experience 

• Experience of working in an income generating capacity with an NGO or INGO to identify, approach, secure and steward major donors giving or capable of giving over five to six-figure gifts. 
• Experience of developing donor care plans and delivering bespoke proposals and  communications to generate income. 
• Experience of managing and growing a prospect pipeline. 
• Experience of working with trustees, CEO and senior stakeholders to build donor relationships.

THE ROLE

The Fundraising Manager (Partnerships) role is a fantastic opportunity to lead on developing partnerships with The Girls’ Network's corporate and public sector supporters. The programme is well established with £170,000 worth of partners already on board. There is an opportunity to put your own stamp on the work, developing new collateral and ideas for excellent partnerships. The role is within our Fundraising & Communications team of four staff and works in collaboration with regional Senior Network Managers. There is an opportunity for the post holder to collaborate with the Fundraising Manager (Trusts and Foundations) on the development of grant applications.

Key roles and responsibilities

Income generation

• Primary focus of the role is to manage a portfolio of £170,000 worth of corporate partners and public sector organisations, to meet annual income targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.
• Develop compelling funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications, Programmes and Monitoring, Research, Evaluation & Learning (MERL).
• Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of prospects through research and excellent record keeping (using SalesForce), ensuring that applications are made to meet known deadlines.
• Collaborate with Network Managers on regional corporate partnerships, ensuring a consistent and good supporter experience and identifying opportunities for development.
• Ensure that all reporting and grant monitoring is delivered in a timely manner, working closely with the MERL Manager and colleagues across Programmes.
• Oversee calendar of third-party events, liaising with external partners and ensuring appropriate TGN involvement.
• Provide internal management information and reporting to the Head of Fundraising on a quarterly basis, or as required.

Stewardship

• Develop data management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
• Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
• Keep all relevant donor and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice, as defined by the Fundraising Regulator and other sector bodies.
• Work with Communications to ensure regular updates to website and other digital channels, identifying opportunities for partnership activities.
• Work with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications and CEO to deliver appropriate partner recognition including events and other engagement activities

Other duties

• As a small charity with limited resources, all staff are expected to be flexible with their work and as such you may be required to undertake other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

• You will have at least five years’ relevant experience as a fundraiser or in other similar roles e.g. marketing or sales, ideally with at least three years working in fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets.
• You will be an exceptional communicator with the confidence to work on your own initiative and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• You will be well organised with excellent attention to detail, work well under pressure and have the ability to think both strategically and operationally.
• You have a good understanding of the disadvantages faced by both women and those from the least advantaged communities and have a drive to rectify the inequalities that currently exist.
• You thrive on the potential to make a real difference with your work.

• Proven experience in the charity sector and able to demonstrate fundraising or similar success.
• A skilled and confident relationship builder who enjoys maintaining and sustaining contacts.

This role has three aims;

Primary Duties:

• Lead on developing and executing our digital fundraising strategy: working with our Digital Communications Manager to make sure it aligns with and feeds into our wider organisational digital strategy, as well as with the Head of Development to make sure it aligns with our wider fundraising strategy.

• Management of our new CRM: we are in the process of selecting a new CRM solution to support fundraising at THL UK. This role will initially take responsibility for getting this implemented and embedded in the organisation, and then take on the day-to-day management and responsibility of the CRM to make sure we utilise the platform to its full potential and resolve any challenges or issues.

• Coordinating our end of year fundraising appeal: our biggest of the year, working with our Digital Fundraiser to develop engaging content and communications, and with our Major Gifts Fundraiser and Head of Development to secure match funds and major gifts, to ensure we secure valuable income each year (this appeal raised over £100k in 2024). You’ll help set and track the targets and metrics for the campaign, and conduct post-campaign analysis to capture what we learn to inform our future activities.

• With a focus on acquisition, retention, and conversion, work with our Digital Communications Manager to map out and develop donor journeys as part of our wider supporter journeys, using technological solutions to ensure supporters are progressing effectively.

• Regularly assess and analyse supporter and donor data, using these insights to shape our strategy and activities. This includes monitoring engagement levels across various touch points, such as donating, volunteering, taking digital actions, or engaging with our communications, as well as evaluating segmentation and targeting of key audiences. Identify the data needed to inform decision-making and establish mechanisms to capture it effectively.

• Work with the Finance Operations Lead to make sure all supporter and donation data in our CRM is accurate, complete and up-to-date: this includes ensuring that Gift Aid claims are regularly made, donation data is regularly reconciled with our finance system, that we have a holistic picture of our supporters, and we have a regular programme of data cleansing in place.

• Ensure our donation processes are optimised: allowing us to minimise any possible friction on our donation pages and increase the percentage of those going on to make a donation. Ensuring that we have processes in place to capture abandoned baskets and failed payments, and any technical issues which could disrupt our ability to collect payments are monitored and resolved quickly, working with our technical partners or external experts where necessary.

• Oversee the development of any new donation pages or donor data collection forms: whether those are created in-house or by an external consult or agency.

• Make sure THL UK team members are getting what they need from our CRM and technical solutions. Ensuring that they are using systems correctly and consistently, to avoid poor practices which might result in bad data or sub-optimal functionality. Including access and user permissions, notifications and alerts for new donors and donations, training and support, and access to dashboards and reports needed to inform their work.

• Manage any external support required to optimise our CRM and technological solutions: including our CRM partner, payment processing partner and any additional consultants or third parties. Work with them to make sure any technical issues or significant architectural changes are addressed.

• Provide day-to-day support to our Digital Fundraiser: offering advice and guidance,  working with them on campaigns and communications to help us achieve the goals as set out in our digital fundraising strategy, including regular pushes for key income streams such as regular giving.

• Make sure we optimise any available budget to increase acquisition and conversion to help us achieve our strategic goals.

• Keep colleagues up-to-date on our digital fundraising plans and make sure those plans are fed into our organisation-wide planning tools.

• Look for opportunities for technology to enhance fundraising at THL UK, including use of AI.

In addition:

• Attending relevant events and conferences as necessary: whether to increase your learning, engage with peers in the animal protection or fundraising sectors, or to help raise our profile and support our wider fundraising efforts.

• Helping drive understanding of and engagement with fundraising across the organisation, with staff, volunteers and trustees: sharing updates through presentations, workshops, written communications, or other effective formats to keep the wider team informed on fundraising progress.

Hours:

This is a full time position of 37.5 hours per week over Monday to Friday.

From 1st July 2024 we are piloting a four day working week across the whole of the UK organisation. The pilot is planned to run for 12 months, at which point a decision will be made by our Board of Trustees as to whether this will become permanent. Success of the trial relies on the organisation being able to achieve the same or improved level of impact in four working days as five, with staff experiencing either the same or improved levels of wellbeing.

During the four day week pilot, working hours for this position will be reduced to 30 hours per week, to be worked across Monday to Thursday, with no reduction in salary. This will be a temporary change to the contractual terms for the successful candidate. The appointed person must be prepared to increase their working hours to 37.5 hours per week if a return to a five-day working week is decided. In the event that THL UK considers before the end of the trial period that the trial is having an adverse operational impact, we reserve the right to bring the trial to end on one month’s notice.

Knights Youth Centre (KYC) was established in 1936 as an independent Christian Charity. The centre provides a range of universal and targeted youth work programmes in partnership with a number of statutory and voluntary organisations and is located on the boundary of the Clapham Park Estate (the largest estate in the Borough of Lambeth) in an area of high social need. In 2025 KYC is joining the Oasis family of charities and will be known as Oasis@Knights. Oasis’ vision is for community, a place where everyone is included, making a contribution and reaching their God-given potential.

We are seeking to recruit a Centre Manager who will work under the direction of the Knights Youth and Community Leader (YCL). They will be responsible for delivering a range of administrative, fabric and partnership functions to ensure the efficient, safe and smooth day-to-day running of the Centre.

Key responsibilities include:

· Work with the Youth and Community Leader (YCL) and Management Committee to plan and implement building improvements.

· Manage repairs, maintenance, and health & safety inspections within the allocated budget.

· Develop and oversee administrative systems, including vehicle upkeep, contract management, security, risk assessments, and stock replenishment.

· Oversee centre procedures on hygiene, risk management, security, and fire safety, including conducting unannounced fire drills.

· Carry out additional duties as required in line with centre priorities.

· Supervise the gardener to maintain outdoor spaces and ensure safe access.

The successful post holder must have:

· Ability to handle queries and resolve issues effectively

· Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of building management and relevant legislations.

· A commitment to the Oasis ethos and values, including inclusion, equality, and perseverance.
