The events team is responsible for delivering a large portion of the free events that take place across The Fund; including online events, roundtables, workshops, receptions and dinners. The team also has ownership over our paid-for events programme; which includes virtual conferences, in-person conferences and congresses. The events team ensures that there is a co-ordinated and uniform approach to delivering virtual or in-person events, and that each is delivered to the same high standard.

This role will give you an exciting opportunity to work in our busy events team within a well-respected health think-tank and charity. You will work with colleagues on planning and delivering a mixture of pay-to-attend conferences (virtual and in-person), roundtable discussions, dinners, and free online events. You will also manage the content design and delivery of our joint-badged events with our Corporate Partners and Supporters.

You will lead on several events in the schedule; ensuring they run smoothly, keep to strict budgets, are delivered to a very high standard, meet the expectations of colleagues and delegates, and enhance our reputation and public profile. You will also play a key role in shaping the future of our portfolio of in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

To join us, you’ll need a degree (or equivalent) and experience in planning and delivering virtual and in person conferences and other smaller events. With this background, you’ll know how to research and develop event content to create engaging programmes and attract wide audiences. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to lead effective logistics arrangements in preparation for and on the day of events. We’ll expect you to work hard to support the team and you will be given responsibility for your own areas of work. You’ll also need to be flexible, diligent, and comfortable being the main point of contact for many people from sponsors to speakers.

The role

This is not your standard support work role. Here at Petrus, we’re passionate about people and committed to ending homelessness.

We are looking for 2 Women’s Project Support Workers who can provide support to service users at our Women’s only supported housing projects.

You will work proactively with female service users who have been homeless and have complex needs, to sustain their tenancies and move on into independence. You will also work empathetically to empower services users, actively engaging them with the community, helping them to support each other, develop resilience, live independently, and to be an asset to the community.

The right fit

• You will have demonstrable support worker experience, preferably working with women who have been homeless and / or have complex needs including, mental health, substance misuse and domestic abuse etc.
• You will be able to assess service user’s needs, and plan and deliver effective, stimulating, and dynamic support.
• You will also have solid demonstrable organisational skills, with experience in timekeeping, planning your workload, and managing workloads effectivity.

Concierge (Night Porter) 

Radford, Nottingham 

£22,072 per annum with enhancements for nights

Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our new temporary accommodation service as a Concierge in Radford, Nottingham. Internally this role is known as Night Porter.

Sutton House is a new temporary accommodation service for families which will be opening 2nd January 2025 in Radford, Nottingham.

The team inform referral agencies about vacancies and give advice about the suitability of potential referrals. You will interview applicants and complete risk and needs assessments, discussing applications and allocations with the project manager. You will assist with the move-in process, ensuring that new tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities and relevant management procedures. Assist tenants with housing benefit applications and ready to move plans.

As Concierge, some of your responsible include but are not limited to:

• Manage access to the building via the main entrance/monitor CCTV (done by PM/HPWs during weekday daytime).Move in families overnight where required. 
• Log all complaints/accidents/potential risks/incidents of anti-social behaviour in accordance with policies/procedures.
• Keep a daily log of events/monitor ASB when on duty, ensuring effective handover of information to relevant staff.
• Conduct regular security checks including fire alarm/emergency lighting/fire extinguishers, reporting any concerns.

Ideal candidate

We’re looking for someone who has the values, knowledge and skills of working within a care and support environment and can demonstrate how they use their skills and common sense to support vulnerable individuals. They’ll have a commitment to maintaining the dignity and rights of the individuals and families we work with, with top notch communication skills. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but we welcome candidates with relevant experience from other sectors or transferable skills. You must be willing to work on a rota basis including weekends. Full training will be provided.

The Financial Controller will work closely with the Finance Director in the delivery of the organisation’s financial objectives and is expected to contribute to the financial culture, strategy and development of the organisation. Key areas of responsibility:

• Management and operation of financial control framework including maintenance of the policies and procedures that support its effective operation

We are looking for an Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner to plan, deliver and support LGBTQ+ children and young people. This role involves working with children and young people identified as requiring emotional wellbeing support through face to face, virtual and group sessions. You will provide a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQ+, undertake assessments and include a range of evidence based interventions in your delivery. 
As an EWP practitioner you will hold a weekly caseload and work collaboratively with the LGBTQ+ Project Team and wider organisation to ensure delivery and the successful completion of funded contracts.

The service is underpinned by CYP IAPT principles and the post holder would support and assist the core aims of this in the service. 

Key Responsibilities  

Delivering services to children and young people 

• Assess the needs and strengths of children or young people who identify as LGBTQ+ and help them identify individual goals to achieve desired change 

• Use creative engaging approaches and own knowledge along with research based methods and models to meet the emotional wellbeing needs of CYP within the LGBTQ+ community 

• Plan and implement Risk Assessments for 1-1 and group based activities 

• To take responsibility for own caseload of CYP that identify as LGBTQ+ and their families some with complex and multiple needs

• To involve these CYP and their families where appropriate, in the co-production of programmes, activities and services 

• Engage with CYP within the LGBTQ+ community, both 1-1, face to face and virtual group sessions to motivate, inspire and encourage potential 

• Support in the planning and delivery of LGBTQ+ sessions, ensuring continued support is given to CYP; putting young people first, ensuring we offer the right help at the right time. 

• Work in partnership with other professionals and organisations involved with LGBTQ+ CYP where appropriate, to ensure best outcomes for CYP’s. 

• Establish appropriate professional boundaries in relationships with CYP and families 

• Provide time-limited 1:1 sessions for CYP who identify as LGBTQ+ and their families 

• Communicate with new CYP and parent referrals to ensure suitability for group or 1-1 individual support. 

• Signpost CYP to relevant support services for additional support where needed

• To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures and escalate where necessary 

Supporting with Impact, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting 

• Use goal based outcomes and additional monitoring and evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness and the impact of support for CYP accessing the service 

• To keep accurate records of individual engagement, evidence of change and celebrate progress with children and young people

• To provide, record and report the appropriate data to ensure support programmes can be accurately monitored and evaluated

• Support the LGBTQ+ team to monitor, evaluate and develop the project and programs to meet contractual requirements. 

• Provide written case studies as evidence of the effectiveness of individual interventions

• Keep up to date with good practice, legislation and policies that impact service delivery
