Lead the review and development of HR policies and processes to ensure that they embody People’s Economy’s values, and support effective working and staff wellbeing, drawing in external expertise as necessary.

Lead the development and implementation of recruitment processes for staff vacancies, ensuring compliance with People’s Economy’s recruitment policy and employment law.

Lead the implementation of formal HR processes e.g. disciplinary processes, contract variations, and act as the key point of contact with People’s Economy’s external HR advisers.

Lead on regularly reviewing and updating People’s Economy’s remote and hybrid working policies and supporting colleagues to access suitable equipment and workspace to carry out their roles.

Support the Programme Director set up and manage the operation of People’s Economy’s monitoring, evaluation and learning systems and their embedding across the organisation.

Support the Executive Director to implement People’s Economy’s Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Oppression (DIAO) policy and lead the annual process of reviewing and updating the policy, and relevant organisational systems and processes to support the implementation of the policy.
Finance

Lead People’s Economy’s financial management and control, including:

Manage People’s Economy’s book-keeping and payroll providers to ensure that high quality records of income and expenditure are maintained and the smooth operation of supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and pensions contributions.

Oversee the timely production of regular financial reporting including management accounts, cash forecasting and quarterly reporting to the Board. Scrutinise regular finance reports and work to resolve any issues identified.

Liaise with People’s Economy’s accountant and manage the annual process of independent examination and producing year-end reports and accounts.

Lead on financial planning, including the preparation of an annual organisational budget and lead on updating budget information throughout the year.

Create systems and processes to support staff to develop and manage budgets for the programmes and projects that they are leading.

With support from the Executive Director, lead the development of organisational business plans and monitoring of progress against them, including reporting on progress to the Trustee Board.

Lead on maintaining robust and up-to-date information about the organisation’s income pipeline.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to lead our Programmes Team whilst our current Director of Programmes is on maternity leave. The primary responsibility for the Director of Programmes will be to recruit school partners for our EEF trial, with delivery beginning September 2025. This trial is to test the impact our Peer to Peer coaching programme (Y10s coaching Y7s) can have on the maths attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The trial will require us to recruit 100 participating schools, 50 of whom will receive the intervention, with another 50 allocated to a control group.
Working alongside the CEO and the Programmes Team Leader, you will create and execute a strategy to recruit new schools as participants to this trial. As a result, experience of managing sales or partnerships with schools, or existing connections with senior leaders at secondary schools and multi-academy trusts, would be beneficial.
Alongside this, you will line manage our current Programmes Team Leader, who directly line manages our team of Programme Managers. The Peer Support and Community team at Kinship is dedicated to enhancing the lives of kinship carers across England and Wales by delivering the first national peer support service. By fostering connections within local, regional, and national ecosystems, the team plays a vital role in ensuring that every kinship carer has access to a supportive community.

We prioritize collaboration across various departments, ensuring that support group leaders receive high-quality advice and training, facilitating their sustainability and effectiveness. About the role
This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers. You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment. Funded by the Department of Education, the National Peer Support Service is a game-changing service that creates a sustainable and life-changing legacy. It builds on Kinship’s 10 years of experience in developing peer support groups and two years of delivering a national service that has set up 145 new groups.
Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an individual located in or around Greater Manchester, and willing to travel across the North West of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:
· Establish new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
· Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers
· Demonstrate the energy and enthusiasm required to inspire yourself and your team to achieve key targets and objectives
· Work collaboratively within the Peer Support and Community Team, as well as throughout the broader organisation, to ensure the delivery of safe and effective support services for the kinship community.
· Maintain current Peer Support Groups, taking the lead from the national Hub.
· Maintain accurate records that are used to populate reports, identify learning and share key insights across Kinship that allow the organisation to continuously improve our services and products.

You should have experience in developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with various community-based stakeholders such as local authorities, health services, schools, charities, and kinship carers. You will need to understand the key success factors involved in establishing and developing new in-person groups in areas of high need, as well as how to support existing groups in their journey towards sustainability.
As a practical thinker, you will work creatively to identify stakeholders and assets in areas of high need. You will build local connections and bring together kinship carers across the region, empowering them to build resilient and robust peer support communities.

You will be an inspirational and energetic team leader with experience in providing day-to-day line management and operational support for a small team.
We are ideally looking for candidates based in or around Greater Manchester but willing to work initially across the whole of the North West. This role may involve working to establish groups in West Yorkshire and into North Staffordshire.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential, as this role may require travel across London and its periphery to reach areas in need of dedicated support.
Key responsibilities:
Service delivery:
- In person (face-to-face) strategic outreach into local and regional communities including setting up and attending local engagement events.
- Work creatively to set up and develop new sustainable in peer support groups, attending up to six sessions in person (if needed) before transition to self-sufficiency. Existing groups that are at risk, closed or need support will need replacing or rejuvenating to maintain DfE service level agreements across the team, in addition to new groups.

About the Programme
The Creative Minds Programme is a six-month initiative promoting mental health and well-being through creative activities like painting, music, writing, and more. Participants need no prior experience, just enthusiasm and a desire to improve their mental health.
Key Objectives include boosting confidence, fostering connections, enhancing life skills, and increasing participants' ability to manage their mental health and support others.
Now in its second year, the programme aims to support 864 adults over three years, with a focus on those with mental health challenges or feelings of loneliness. In addition to creative workshops, the programme offers leadership training to select participants, empowering them to become "Creative Agents." These agents lead "Creative Places" to engage the wider public in community-based creative activities.
The programme is set to conclude in March 2026, with two more rounds of activities still to come.
About the role
Our Creative Minds programme, funded by the National Lottery, is designed to enhance mental health and wellbeing for adults in West Kent through engaging in creative activities. These 24-week programmes are held in various locations across West Kent and are conducted in collaboration with professional artists, local arts organisations, and our Creative Agents, supported by the West Kent Mind community wellbeing team.
The programme leverages creativity to support mental health and wellbeing.
We are seeking an Independent Evaluator to assess the effectiveness of the Creative Minds Programme, a three-year initiative supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Following a successful first year, the evaluator will use various methodologies to evaluate:
Effectiveness and how well the programme met its objectives and outcomes to include but not limited to:
- Impact: Short- and long-term effects on clients' mental health and well-being.
- Accessibility and Inclusivity: Measures taken to ensure activities are accessible to all.
- Collaborators: Engagement levels among staff, volunteers, artists, clients, and partners.
- Public Outcomes: Community engagement with programme results.
- Challenges and Lessons Learned: Identification of challenges and strategies used, with insights for future projects.
Methodology will include a mixed approach using surveys, interviews, observations, case studies, and data analysis, including metrics from the Short Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (SWEMWBS).

Operational Plan Management
- Develop a comprehensive operational plan for the rollout of the strategy.

Technical advisory
- Guide and advise on the implementation of leprosy and LF control tools and approaches, specific healthcare models and/or health solutions in partner countries, when appropriate and according to Lepra and donor standards.
- Provide strategic and technical advice on the development and roll-out of country programmes as well as the overall leprosy / LF programme in Lepra.
Monitoring, evaluation and impact
- Advise the programmes team on the development of appropriate results frameworks, objectives, outputs, indicators and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support the analysis of Lepra datasets. Advise the HPMEL on analysis of Lepra datasets. Provide technical inputs to Lepra’s reports, according to Lepra’s needs.

Salary: : £26,500 - £28,500 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday (5 days) acting as an emergency contact on a rota basis one weekend in four.

Lighthouse retail has 34 stores across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire run by paid staff and volunteers. Our retail vison revolves around ‘The People’ within the organisation with a view to invest and develop to reach our fullest potential.
The People Manager will be responsible for overseeing the staffing across each one of our stores, ensuring that shops are fully staffed day to day. They will need a practical and engaging approach to enable staff to thrive in their roles and feel supported to meet the charity’s vision and mission. They will work alongside the rest of the retail team ensuring the aims and objectives of the people strategy are achieved.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
People Management
- Be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations relating to the people side of retail.
- Ensure the shop team and volunteer relationship is a professional and successful one
- Act as the first point of contact for the volunteer administrator in relation to volunteering matters and queries for retail.
- Effectively communicate any relevant information to all shop teams regarding updates, charity activities, incentives, and performance.
- Work closely with management and employees to embed changes and ensure solutions are realistic and sustainable.
- Be able to work closely with the retail management team including the retail sales manager to ensure the people side of the charity is not impacting sales.
- Overseeing the retail portfolio sickness and absence management including allocation and approval of annual leave throughout the year, forward planning contingency strategies ensuring shops are covered all the time even at short notice. Ensuring staffing hours do not exceed there’re banding allocation.
- Be competent in assisting with grievances, supporting with investigations and assisting with disciplinaries.
- Act as deputy safeguarding lead as and when required. Be able to act in an advisory capacity demonstrating a higher level of experience and understanding when dealing with safeguarding issues that arise.
- Be responsible for overseeing and leading with probation placements across our retail sites, acting as point of contact and ensuring that the relevant paperwork is up to date including the risk assessments for each placement.
People Development
- Ability to mentor and support staff through regular one to ones ensuring that they feel fully equipped to achieve optimum success in their work.
- Collaboratively with the HR team review and update the volunteer induction and training programme ensuring all aspects are relevant to the retail portfolio.
- Support staff with capability and performance issues including the management of their own staff issues such as, sickness, disciplinary, grievances and concerns through probation periods.
- Work closely with the retail management team on the delivery of innovative and interactive internal and external training to help staff develop their skill sets and achieve career satisfaction.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Work closely with HR developing and implementing strategies to improve recruitment, attracting suitable staff, and retaining them.
- Ensure suitable and sufficient coverage of volunteer support in the retail portfolio.
- Lead on the recruitment of new staff members, being able to assist shop managers in developing better teams and building strong foundations in line with the people strategy and recruitment and selection policy.
- Ensure that new staff members are fully trained and placed in a suitable training store.
- Monitor and track performance throughout staff probation periods alongside the retail sales manager.
