About us
Who we are
We are a social mobility charity on a mission to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds become more confident, independent, and resilient so they can lead the lives they want. There is an attainment and outcomes gap in the UK between disadvantaged young people and their wealthier peers. This is exacerbated when young people have lower confidence in their own abilities and potential.
Upward social mobility is made even harder when young people lack relatable role models who have been to university or have professional occupations. We want to change this!
Now, more than ever, it is essential that young people from disadvantaged backgrounds get the support they need to achieve their goals. That’s why we’re playing our part to narrow the gap and support a generation of young people to be their best. We are young, ambitious, and optimistic, and are looking for someone as passionate as we are about creating a socially just world. If you get out of bed to transform the life chances of young people and want to shape and grow a values-driven social mobility charity, we would love to hear from you.
Our culture and values
WE UNDERSTAND THE COMPLEXITIES OF DISADVANTAGE
We prioritise supporting young people from low-income households, but understand that disadvantage is context-dependent, and that the drivers of disadvantage can regularly shift.
WE BELIEVE COACHING IS TRANSFORMATIVE
All of our work, from primary phase programmes through to our Lifecycle work, is grounded in a belief that high quality coaching can change a young person’s life.
WE STRIVE FOR CLARITY
We are open and honest with each other, our stakeholders, and our beneficiaries. We hold each other to high standards and provide transparency and clarity with the decisions we make and work we do.
WE ARE A TEAM, NOT JUST COLLEAGUES
All of us at CoachBright are here because we are committed to helping others, and that commitment extends beyond our beneficiaries to each other in the workplace. We strive to make CoachBright a place where regardless of role, level of seniority, or length of time at the organisation, we all want to roll our sleeves up to support each other, and share in each other’s successes and challenges.
