The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead MOVE Against Cancer in its next phase of growth, ensuring that our programmes continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with and beyond cancer. The CEO will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy to ensure the organisation’s financial growth, programmatic excellence, and alignment with its mission. This role will require a visionary leader with experience in charity management, HR, fundraising, strategic planning, and navigating the dynamic landscape of cancer support.
CEO - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Income Generation & Financial Responsibility
Lead the development and execution of MOVE Against Cancer’s income generation strategy across a diverse range of funders, including trusts and foundations, business partnerships, individual and community fundraising. Create and manage a realistic, achievable annual budget, ensuring that all financial performance aligns with organisational goals. Monitor and report on the organisation’s financial performance, providing regular, accurate updates to the Trustees. Develop relationships with current and potential funders, reporting back on the impact of their donations and securing further financial support. Identify new opportunities to diversify and maximise income streams to support organisational growth, ensuring that the charity can meet its long-term goals. Oversee compliance with fundraising regulations, ensuring that all fundraising activities adhere to legal and ethical standards. Ensure monthly financial reporting and performance tracking, reviewing risks, and taking corrective actions as necessary.
Strategy
Lead the sustainable growth of MOVE Against Cancer, ensuring that the organisation adapts to the evolving landscape of cancer support and related sectors. Work with the Board to regularly review and refine the organisation’s strategy, ensuring it remains responsive to external changes and opportunities.
HR, Compliance & Infrastructure Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements, including health and safety, Charity Commission guidance, safeguarding, and fundraising regulations. Oversee data protection policies, ensuring that MOVE Against Cancer meets all General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy laws. Develop and review organisational policies and procedures at appropriate intervals to ensure best practices and compliance with regulations. Establish a continuous improvement framework, gathering feedback and data to guide the organisation’s strategic direction and operational excellence. Coordinate with senior leadership to ensure that all services meet or exceed the expectations of funders, partners, and beneficiaries.
Stakeholder Relationships
Protect and enhance the reputation of MOVE Against Cancer by acting as the organisation’s spokesperson Actively seek collaborations and partnerships with other charities, NHS Trusts, and relevant statutory bodies to strengthen MOVE Against Cancers impact.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience in growing and leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, with a proven track record of success in expanding reach and impact. Previous experience leading a charitable (or similar) organisation, including strategic planning, governance, and financial management. Demonstrated experience in leading and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including managing major donor relationships, grants, corporate partnerships, and community fundraising campaigns. In-depth knowledge and experience of cancer support services and the challenges faced by people living with and beyond cancer, including their families. Strong track record of working collaboratively with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders to achieve shared goals. Excellent communication, public speaking, and relationshipbuilding skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders including funders, healthcare professionals, and the public.

A large part of the role will be video editing content, with a social-first approach.

About the role:
Social Media (approx. two thirds of role):
- Social media content: Working closely across the team, develop a calendar of social media content in line with the social media strategy, that meets a wide range of objectives and goals and considers different audience needs.
- Content creation: Create compelling visual and written content for different social media channels in line with the plan, including short and longer form videos (e.g. family stories), graphics and so on.
- Content sourcing: Plan, source and collect the content needed for social media.
- Content management: Manage the content bank and photo library, making sure assets are kept up to date, tagged and searchable.
- Channel growth and engagement: Lead on growing follower numbers and engagement levels for our social media accounts in line with the social media strategy.
- Trend monitoring: Keep up to date with channel trends and suggest content ideas in line with the social media strategy.
- Reporting: Produce monthly reports on social media performance, and present key findings to quarterly content meetings to help inform our test and trial approach.
- Digital advertising: Work with key team members to produce content for digital advertising campaigns.
Digital Communications (approx. one third of role):
- Website editing: Update and create content for our website, including family stories and campaign pages.
- Email marketing: Create, write content for and report on emails for key target audiences in line with our new email marketing strategy.

Aid Box Community (ABC) is a Bristol charity that provides hope, love and a sense of belonging to people seeking asylum in Bristol. The charity was started 8 years ago on the Refugee camps in France by a local mum and has grown and evolved to support over 5000 people a year through our Free Shop and Welcome Hub, Activity Groups and Trips and Connections Befriending program. We have 336 volunteers and a fantastic, small team and we are looking for a part time Operations Manager.
The job is for 5 days a week, based at the new ABC Hub, St Andrews area, Bristol.
We are a small team, and you may be asked to do something outside of your Job Description and help support other members of the Aid Box team. You will also be someone willing to help promote the charity with talks and presentations to potential funders.

You will report to the Director and at times directly to the board of trustees.
You will join the Designated Safeguarding team and will have responsibility for safeguarding duties. DSL training will be given.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability. Experience in the charity sector and in developing financial strategy is essential for this role.

The primary focus of this post is to undertake a broad range of therapeutic tasks within primary and secondary educational settings including work to support the Whole School Approach to mental wellbeing in schools.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical:
· To undertake assessment of children & young people in schools who present with mild- moderate mental health difficulties and/or who are at risk of involvement in serious youth violence. This will include completion of risk assessments and risk management planning when appropriate
· To deliver evidence based 1-1 and group interventions to children and young people
· Where appropriate working systemically with parents.
· To liaise and consult with school partners, colleagues in the MHST and with specialist CAMHS to ensure further intervention where necessary
· To offer follow up appointments following initial assessment; to review risk management, safety plans and progress of interventions
· To work preventatively to build resilience and coping skills in children and young people
· To provide links and safe transition support to other services as indicated.
· To evaluate and make decisions about interventions in consultation with the Clinical Lead/Supervisor and to link with other statutory and voluntary sector services
· To provide advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals working in schools, other agencies and contribute to multi-agency risk management and intervention planning
· To follow assessment and intervention protocol and to maintain clinical records appropriately and in line with OTR policy
· To attend and participate fully in regular clinical supervision and line management
· To ensure high standards of verbal and written communication with all staff, Children & young people and their parents/carers that maximises young people’s involvement in the delivery of meaningful care
· To comply with Safeguarding & Child Protection Procedures on the management of safeguarding concerns in accordance with the policies of the schools and OTR
Educational/Whole School Approach:
· To use an evidence-based approach to develop, inform and maintain a high standard of systemically-informed practice
· To be reflective, self-questioning and continuously appraise own and team’s performance
· To evaluate clinical input and to review outcomes within the team
· To support the delivery of the Whole School Approach across the school cluster, and the development and delivery of the Cluster Action Plan.
· To work with colleagues within the MHST to provide training, education and support for school staff, parents/carers and other relevant agencies within the Borough, through formal teaching, consultation and provision of active clinical skills
· To provide consultation and advice to educational staff with respect to appropriate signposting of more complex cases
· To contribute to the training of and continuing professional development of Education colleagues around children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, behaviour and mood challenges

This initial post was created when South Weston Activity Network won the ITV People Project’s vote 2018, securing a substation grant towards youth activities with a view to establishing a Youth Forum. These posts are now funded by The National Lottery Reaching Communities programme until 2030. South Weston Activity Network (SWAN) is a long-established network of youth and children’s work providers in South Weston-super-Mare (Bournville, Coronation and Oldmixon). We are the Local Commissioning Network (LCN) for the area, and a registered charity. We have run an annual summer holiday lunch club for many years, and run a range of holiday trips, activities and events for children, young people and families. We are passionate about brilliant joined-up working between our partners, and fun activities for local families. We are committed to working in an asset-based approach to community development.
