Heart Research UK is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to stopping people dying from heart diseases. The Health Promotion & Education team enhance the heart health of the UK population through innovative health improvement programs.
The Healthy Heart Coach will deliver health checks, provide tailored heart health lifestyle advice, and conduct heart health coaching sessions within community, workplace and event settings. The coach will also be responsible for ensuring accurate data capture, maintaining and replenishing stock for events, assisting in the development of engaging health promotion resources and future delivery of health education workshops and exercise sessions.
This role is hybrid to our Leeds office but is primarily remote with travel across the UK to health check locations. We require the participant to be able to commute to the Leeds office to ensure stock replenishment and collection of the health check stock for events. This role requires travel across the UK, including overnight stays (2 per month average).

What the job involves
As part of the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll support the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Branding by directing the Business Partnering team, and developing and embedding our Business Partnering model.
You’ll partner with senior leaders and product owners to act as a supportive enabler of their communications objectives, and ensuring they’re actively engaged in the development of communications strategies, objectives and plans. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.
You’ll guide the planning process for projects and campaigns to build awareness of risk, tackle health inequalities and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer. As part of this role, you’ll also be managing a team of two.
Please note this role is known internally as Senior Communications Business Partner (HSEI & Research).
What we want from you
In this role you’ll be leading a new team of Business Partners and a Communications Planning Manager to ensure Prostate Cancer UK’s communications are well-planned, integrated (where appropriate), and effective. That means you’ll need a strong understanding of high-impact communications business partnering and planning, using an agile, flexible, and fast-paced approach.
You’ll also excel at building trust and connections with community groups, ideally with experience in reaching, engaging, and activating high-risk communities.
Prior experience and knowledge of devising and delivering big multi-channel campaigns – including PR, social media, communications and marketing would be an asset. You’ll be a strategic influencer who understands how positive, coordinated relationship management drives performance alongside an outstanding communicator – who’s confident and good at communicating complex technical information to general audiences.

About the Role
You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.
This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.
You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.
Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.
About you
The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.
You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.
As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. You will have the flexibility to join events and or meet donors and prospective donors at locations around the UK. As an ambassador of our brand, you will have the skills and experience to ensure you positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

The Senior Communications Strategist will contribute to the delivery of projects on issues like access to justice, achieving health equity, and securing decent and affordable homes for everyone working with partners such as Impact on Urban Health, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Shelter, and the Law Society.
The successful applicant will be committed to our mission to create better public conversations to achieve social progress - and inspired by using framing research to achieve real world social change.
They will have at least five years’ experience in communications and have excellent written and presentation skills. They will be well organised, proactive and keen to take on a broad range of tasks.

Prostate Cancer Research (PCR) is seeking an experienced and insightful Senior Policy Adviser to lead the development of our policy work and help drive meaningful change for people affected by prostate cancer.
Reporting to the Head of Policy, Campaigns and Public Affairs, you will be responsible for shaping evidence-based policy positions, producing high-impact consultation responses, and identifying strategic opportunities to influence health and research policy. This is an exciting opportunity for a policy professional with strong analytical and writing skills, a solid understanding of the health policy landscape, and a desire to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:

Policy Leadership: Lead the development of PCR’s policy positions across a range of health and research issues through in-depth research, evidence analysis and horizon scanning, identifying key issues affecting prostate cancer patients and developing robust solutions for systemic change.

Consultation and Inquiry Responses: Draft high-quality, persuasive responses to government consultations, select committee inquiries, and regulatory reviews, ensuring PCR’s positions are well-evidenced, compelling and grounded in insight from those with lived experience.

Health Technology Appraisals: Lead or contribute to PCR’s submissions to NICE and SMC technology appraisals, ensuring that our input is evidence-based, reflects the lived experience of patients, and aligns with our policy positions.

Stakeholder Insight and Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, healthcare professionals, government bodies, think tanks, sector bodies such as the AMRC, and other key stakeholders to inform PCR’s positions and stay at the front of policy thinking.

Political and Policy Monitoring: Track key policy developments and legislative changes relevant to prostate cancer, assessing their implications and identifying opportunities for PCR to engage.

The core focus of the role is to help our supporters feel part of a movement that is funding cutting edge neurological research.
We enjoy a solid base of support with c26,000 engaged individuals across a range of audience segments including cash donors (c3,000), regular givers (c4,000), events and community (c3,000), patients and our wider non-donor community (c16,000). Our primary communications channels are our website, Facebook, Instagram and via email.
We are looking to put renewed energy behind our communications work and seeking to maximise our digital engagement. This includes both promoting fundraising opportunities and using social channels as a means of interacting with, and taking queries from, supporters and the wider public.
Our work in fundraising is designed to maximise funds needed for research to help the one in six of us that has a neurological condition.

The role requires an individual who is proactive, happy to get “hands on” and is keen to use their communications skills to support our fundraising effort.
If successful in securing this role, you will find yourself in a small but dynamic environment with a flat structure where decisions are taken quickly. The role reports to the Director of Fundraising (currently being covered by a trusted interim with lots of fundraising and comms experience).
I use my role as CEO to champion fundraising and communications and ensure that we maintain our current focus on building our strengths and ensuring that supporters feel valued and recognised. The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, groups and corporates, as well as driving registrations and income through third party and mass participation events; managing these relationships to maximise income.
As the Central Fundraising Officer, you will be part of our friendly and passionate Central Fundraising Team. You will lead on supporter stewardship and tiering to ensure our supporters are well supported by the Central Fundraising Team throughout their fundraising journey. Your role will include taking the lead on data processes such as the BACs process, drafting different engaging stewardship content, keep our fundraising materials up to date and lead on training sessions within the Central Fundraising Team and with other teams for sharing best practice.
You will work closely with our network of 12 home-based Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs), as well as Sporting Team and Corporate Teams. You will be the first point of contact for the majority of our DIY supporters and will offer first-class stewardship to ensure our fundraisers feel well-supported before, during and after their fundraising plans.
You will also work very closely with the Data, Supporter Care team, Finance and other key stakeholders within ARUK to ensure SLF processes and procedures are fit for purpose and completed in a timely manner and that our supporters are delighted with the management and stewardship they receive across the teams.

· Be a helpful and informed first point of contact for many supporters getting in touch with the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) team for the first time.

· Provide additional support on Ad Hoc campaigns such as Facebook challenges, virtual fundraising challenges and other national corporate campaigns.
· Ensure clear, consistent and up to date fundraising data management including adding new contacts to the fundraising database, accurately recording and maintaining supporter details, monitoring and tracking supporter income and making sure supporters are appropriately thanked in a timely manner.
· Lead on and be responsible for specific fundraising processes e.g. responsible for coding and reconciling all SLF BACs payments and coding Paypal donations. Reviewing, updating and training others on these processes when necessary.
· Ensure all communications are in line with GDPR policies.
· Become the organised Central coordinator for SLF-wide activities and procedures e.g contactless machines.
Spotting Potential
· As the central point of contact for the SLF team, you will spot opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community and flag these to the relevant members of the team.
· Identify and research potential community group and business partnerships for SLF teams.
· Use data reports to spot fundraising trends and identify opportunities, making a judgement on where to flag to the relevant teams to ensure accurate income coding and stewardship.
· Help spot opportunities and contact supporters as part of our re-engagement process to encourage repeat fundraising.
· Effectively communicate ARUK’s Gifts In Will messages to supporters where appropriate.
Collaboration
· Become involved in a Fundraising Resources Review Project Group, adding creative insight and keeping our fundraising resources updated for supporters.
· Work closely with the Corporate and Philanthropy team to lead on income processes such as CAFAmerica, to ensure appropriate donation restrictions are implemented.
· Work closely with other teams to locate missing income and ensuring correct coding is implemented to make certain of accurate reporting.
· Work with our Supporters and Families Team by sharing fundraiser stories to maximise potential publicity.
· Work closely with the Communications team to maximise potential publicity and acknowledgement for fundraising supporters and their events, including content for the charity’s social media channels.
· Be the main SLF contact for the Supporter Care team, updating them on fundraising products and events to ensure they have all the information they need to support first contact.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.
Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals. This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.
