VCSE Strategic Lead (Living Well and Wider Wellbeing)

The VCSE Strategic Lead for Living Well and Wider Wellbeing is an exciting new role that will be focused on ensuring that the VCSE sector has voice and influence so that Salford people are supported to live well, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.

The role will be aligned with Salford’s Living Well programme and the city’s Mental Health Collaborative. These are the cornerstones of the design and development of innovative solutions to adult mental health provision in the City. As well as the alignment with Living Well, the lead will also focus on creative health, placed-based working, and physical activity.

The Strategic Lead will work across a broad spectrum of VCSE and public sector partners that design, commission, or deliver activities and services that support the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Salfordians. This spectrum includes NHS Greater Manchester, Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust, Salford City Council, START, Mind in Salford, Salford Community Leisure, Salford Sport, and Physical Activity Alliance.

The Strategic Lead will play a key role in ensuring that there is collaborative working and effective communication within Living Well. This also includes key stakeholders, strategic partners in Salford, Local Authority, VCSE, and NHS organisations.

Living Well

Living Well is an innovative new service created and delivered by a partnership between START, Mind (Salford), Six Degrees, and Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust. A multi-agency team, collaborating to provide positive, humanistic, and safe experiences for those experiencing poor mental health who are unable to meet the threshold for community mental health services.

This post requires an enhanced level DBS check.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate extensive experience of building multi-sectoral partnerships and relationships, as well as having outstanding communication skills. They will also have a clear understanding of the VCSE sector, preferably in Salford, and mental health and wellbeing context across Greater Manchester.

The Education and Impact Manager will project manage our work across subject areas (social, democratic and legal education) and across educational phases (mainly primary and secondary). In addition, this role will lead our evaluation processes so we can evidence the impact and outcomes of our work against our theory of change.

The role

As a Community Coordinator Assistant for FareShare, your primary responsibility will be to manage and sustain the Community Food Membership (CFM) programme. Your goal will be to maximize relationships and add value to create the best experience for our charity partners. This role is vital in ensuring the success and sustainability of the FareShare Community Food Membership programme by fostering strong, supportive relationships with our charity partners and making a positive impact across the region.

Main areas of responsibility

The Community Coordinator Assistant will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of Community Food Members (CFMs) within the designated region. This role requires close collaboration with the Regional Manager, the Finance team, and Head Office. The Community Coordinator Assistant is expected to meet recruitment and retention targets, produce comprehensive reports, and ensure all requirements of funders are met.

About us at the NCT

A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.

Our Hounslow Infant Feeding Support project is commissioned by Hackney Council and the Integrated Care Board, to offer infant feeding support across the region. The support is delivered by staff, NCT Breastfeeding Counsellors and volunteer peer supporters.

About the Role

You will be responsible for coordination and recruitment of volunteers to support at our services. Peers will all receive accredited training to provide support to other parents whether that’s sharing their breastfeeding and infant feeding knowledge, welcoming parents or providing social interaction to those they support. Our services within Hounslow include four NCT Baby Cafes, other Infant Feeding community peer support drop-ins and our home visiting service across Hounslow.  

· Engage with underrepresented communities through outreach and networking with other local organisations, scoping of new groups within region.

· Attend community groups and working with volunteer peer supporters, supporting them to carry out their role, and providing coordination, direction and encouragement

· Following home visiting criteria to support parents unable to access group drop-ins

· Responding to referrals, signposting and partnership working with health professionals into the service. Providing updates whilst building relationships with key stakeholders. 

· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner adhering to NCT data protection policies and processes.   

· Use a variety of platforms and media to promote the service and recruit volunteers

· Maintain the Infant Feeding Website ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.

You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This project covers multiple locations and demographics so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be organised and able to work independently.

Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
 
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires the candidate to have given breastmilk. The training can be undertaken within your working hours. The role is 21 hours per week, which will be covered across the working week between Monday to Friday. The working hours range between 9-3. The role will include occasional evening and weekends. This is a community-based role in Hounslow, with some home working.

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. You will be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of young carer’s needs, a wide range of skills in relation to service delivery to support young carers and have a sound understanding of social care provision in both statutory and voluntary sector environments.

You will be self-motivated and positive in your approach to working with both young carers, their families and team members, and have a willingness to embrace our organisational values.  Being innovative and creative, you will identify and implement a range of support mechanisms for young carers, enhancing their wellbeing and supporting them to achieve identified goals.  Strong administrative, time management, IT and organisational skills are essential.  Your ability and willingness to regularly work outside normal working hours is required.

Justice and Care is at an exciting moment with the imminent launch of a new ten-year strategy and we are looking to build a finance function to support this growth.

We are recruiting for an experienced Programme Finance Manager to manage and oversee the outworking of key financial processes at Justice & Care.  With a particular focus on support for our international projects funded by the US State Department and UK Government but with responsibilities also for our UK audit process and income/expenditure forecasting, this is a broad and varied role. 

This is a new role and will be line managed by the Finance Director but will work closely with in-country finance leads, programme teams, the Development team and wider global teams

Your main responsibilities will include;

• Collaborate with country finance leads and the programmes teams to develop detailed and well planned budgets for funding proposals including full cost recovery

• Monitor programme spend against budget, advising programme leads on financial and compliance decisions and producing numeric and narrative financial reporting in various formats, predominantly institutional donors such as the US State Department

• Project manage, forecast and monitor expenditure for UK programmes.

• Liaise with grants managers and project leads to ensure compliance on restricted grants.

• Lead on project management of the UK audit process.

• Delivering regular funder income and expenditure forecasting.

• Regular financial analysis as required to support strategic decision making.

• Manage and respond to finance related queries, becoming the finance point of contact for the UK team.

• Assist in the annual budget process, forging great relationships with budget holders.
