Growing Well is a farm-based mental health charity originating on Low Sizergh Farm near Kendal and recently expanding to a second site at Tebay Services (Northbound), and a third in Egremont, West Cumbria.

Growing Well works with people on a weekly basis to help rebuild a sense of purpose, to engage in meaningful and fulfilling activity and to build hope for the future.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Manager for Growing Well's site at Tebay Services (Northbound) in the Eden Valley, on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

The role of the Manager (Tebay) is to:

• Manage the day-to-day operations at Growing Well’s 1.5-acre Tebay site and ensure that at all times our site is safe, productive, excellently maintained and efficiently run. This includes:
  • Safe and efficient service delivery
  • Effective delivery of annual crop plan and supply chain management
  • Financial management of the Tebay enterprise
  • Legal and Health and Safety management of the site
• Manage the delivery of therapeutic activity, skills development and support for up to 100 Volunteers (beneficiaries) per week.
• Line manage Tebay staff team (5 direct reports).
• Manage local fundraising and marketing initiatives with support from Growing Well Development Team colleagues.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a culture of respect, inclusion and security.

This is a 12-month contract commencing January 2025, but there is some flexibility on start dates for the right person.

The charity was set up in December 2003 to ensure that bereaved children and their families receive the best possible support following the death of someone close. The organisation is a leading UK bereavement charity, providing free, professional services and support to 1,000 bereaved children, young people and their families a year. They provide support across England and Wales face-to-face via their therapy hubs in London and Bristol as well as by phone and online.

The role is offered on a permanent, part-time (0.8FTE) basis with a salary of £38,000 to £40,000 per annum pro rata with a flexible hybrid working model between home and their office.  

The post holder will be responsible for researching and applying for relevant funding streams to exceed the fundraising team’s annual target. They will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective funders. The postholder will work with colleagues to package existing services into compelling proposals as well as supporting with developing new project proposals.

They are looking for someone with a demonstrable track record of securing 5-figure grants and donations within a Trusts and Foundations team. They are looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in writing high-quality applications, reporting on the impact of funded projects, and managing relationships with funders. The ideal candidate will have a personal interest to develop knowledge and understanding of childhood bereavement and charity services, as well as their costs and funding needs, to be able to talk confidently with a wide range of stakeholders.

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Advice Service and for managing and developing the team of Advice Workers, including the Senior Advice Worker who leads on delivery.

The service operates predominantly from our Ipswich office, but the Advice Service Manager is also responsible for organising outreach services for asylum seekers and refugees elsewhere in Suffolk. What will you be doing?

As a Service Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. Job Summary 

The Training and Services Manager is responsible for the comprehensive administration, management and promotion of Deaf Unity’s British Sign Language (BSL) training, interpreting services, Deaf Awareness, and other related training courses. This role includes managing course logistics and the freelance team delivering training, monitoring email communications, promoting services, liaising with students, clients and teachers, maintaining the CRM system, handling invoicing, capturing feedback, and managing evaluations. Key Responsibilities 

1. Service Management and Administration: 

• Oversee the administration of all services such as BSL courses, interpreting services, Deaf Awareness, and other related training courses. 

• Schedule and coordinate external training sessions and courses, ensuring all logistical details are managed effectively. 

• Monitor and respond to emails in designated inboxes related to training and services. 

• Manage freelance trainers and teachers to ensure the smooth delivery of all courses. 

• Manage freelance interpreters and CSWs to ensure the smooth delivery of communication support services. 

• Ensure compliance with Deaf Unity’s policies and procedures (e.g. finance, safeguarding, health and safety, EDI) in every aspect of service delivery 

2. Promotion of Courses and Services: 

• Develop and implement strategies to promote training, courses and interpreting services to potential clients and students. 

• Conduct outreach and build relationships with organisations, businesses, and individuals to increase course enrolment, and training opportunities. 

• Utilise various marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns, and partnerships, to promote courses. 

• Meet or exceed sales targets for course enrolments and sales of training programmes. 

3. Client, Student, and Teacher Support: 

• Act as the primary point of contact for students, clients, and teachers, providing exceptional customer service and support. 

• Assist with course registration, answer queries, and provide detailed information about training programs. 

• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, students, and teachers, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded. 

4. CRM and Invoicing: 

• Keep the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system up to date with accurate and relevant information. 

• Generate and manage invoices for BSL and training courses. 

• Track payments and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payment. 

5. Feedback and Evaluation: 

• Capture feedback from students, clients, and teachers through surveys, or other appropriate methods. 

• Analyse feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance course quality and delivery. 

• Prepare and present evaluation reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

• Development, management and implementation of the Communications Strategy for Interserve GBI and its publications;
• Ensuring that communications and information-flow across the organisation are effective and co-ordinated;
• Oversight of the work of the Engagement Team in linking with churches and individuals; 
• Management of Interserve’s fundraising approach, donor relations and activities;
• Building an effective online and social media presence that supports the objectives of engagement, including appropriately targeted media traffic that best serves Interserve’s different audiences.
