Purpose 

The work of the Association is managed through our committees and working groups. The purpose of the role is to ensure good governance through supporting the chair of each committee to plan their meetings including creating agendas and notetaking for their meetings.

You may also work with other functions within the Association including publications and operations to support specific projects and tasks that help ensure we meet the needs of our members.

What you will be doing: 

• Support all committees and working groups which includes working with chairs and other relevant members of staff to set meeting dates, agree agendas, collate and circulate papers and write meeting notes and actions. 

• Build a relationship with committee and working group chairs and ensure they are using a consistent approach to their meetings including recording any declaration of interests, identifying and advertising vacancies and using a committee work plan to track their work. 

• Support any face-to-face meetings by setting up the room and managing catering for the meeting

• Ensure all committees have up to date terms of reference and role descriptions for the Chairs 

• Ensure new Chairs and committee members receive the appropriate inductions

• Responsible for the process of updating the CRM, website and any other relevant notifications for any changes of committee’s members 

• Support the Operations Manager with tasks including checking expense claims and invoices and setting up of payments

• As we are a small staff team you will also be asked to support other team members with tasks outside of this job role from time to time.

• Lead on specialist knowledge areas (community-led research, consultation and impact measurement), advising/training VCSE organisations on the subject and developing relevant guidance and resources
• Develop and deliver outreach and engagement activity
• Manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors to support the development of the programme and delivery of programme objectives

Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict, or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background.

Summary of the role:

The Global Programmes Assistant reports directly to the Global Programmes Manager and will primarily be responsible for providing support functions to the International Programmes team. The role requires excellent organisational, teamwork and numeracy skills, to work with key stakeholders to ensure an effective, efficient and quality delivery of development and emergency response programmes. The Global Programmes Assistant also supports the administrative work of the department, including the preparation and tracking of project payments, and maintaining partner due diligence records.

About the Role:

1. Provide programme and administrative assistance to Country Programmes and Programmes Partnerships teams as required including support with the development and production of project proposals.
2. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Project Tracker and SharePoint site.
3. Maintain soft (and if required hard copies of) programme files, provide filing assistance to the team and support archiving.
4. Ensure the timely submission of quarterly and completion reports, and support the review of seasonal and small-medium project reports as delegated by Country Programmes and Programmes Partnerships teams
5. Maintain and review the report supporting documents including field reports, financial evidence, centrally agreed documents, media and case studies.
6. Support the development of IPD wide administrative systems.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Previous experience of working within a Programme Support/administrative role.
2. Experience of working with budgets and/or processing payments.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders and employees at all levels.

5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and utilise any software adopted by Muslim Aid.

The Vacancy

The Programme Officer will work within the Conflict Advisory Unit (CAU). The CAU provides high-quality advisory and technical support to a range of aid actors across the humanitarian, development and peacebuilding sectors, including donor institutions, UN agencies, international and national NGOs, civil society organisations, financial institutions and the private sector to integrate conflict sensitivity principles and practices into their strategies, policies, and programmes. The CAU runs remote conflict sensitivity/ peace and security helpdesks for donors, implements in-country conflict sensitivity facilities (currently in Afghanistan, South Sudan and Sudan), and undertakes bespoke conflict sensitivity work.  

In additional to the CAU, the Programme Officer will work with country programme teams and other teams across Saferworld to support the uptake of more conflict-sensitive ways of working across diverse conflict-affected contexts and help to promote learning and good practice on adopting conflict-sensitive approaches. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role within a dynamic and enthusiastic team and to work in support of addressing issues that are important for people affected by conflict and the aid sector.

As the Senior MEL Officer in the MEL team, you will support the Head of Impact & Learning and the MEL Manager, as well as the Programmes & Impact department and wider team, to measure and analyse the quality and impact of our programming. You’ll use your strong organisation skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and ability to identify key trends and impact in our work. You will also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that our impact and expertise in working with women entrepreneurs is measured and communicated accurately and effectively to our Board of Trustees and external stakeholders.

Department purpose

This role sits within the Programmes & Impact department, which is responsible for the development and delivery of our programmes and services, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, remain responsive to women entrepreneurs’ needs and have demonstrable impact. The department is divided into three teams: Entrepreneurship, which is responsible for delivery of services such as HerVenture and the four ‘Road to’ programmes, Mentoring, which is responsible for development and delivery of the Mentoring Women in Business programme, and MEL, which is responsible for quality impact measurement, analysis and research.

Key responsibilities

Main obligations

• Support the development and implementation of MEL systems and tools across Mentoring and Entrepreneurship projects, providing the Foundation with the necessary information to understand our impact and inform programme improvements.
• Support in collection and analysis of organisational KPIs and provide overall operational support for the MEL team.

Specific responsibilities

• Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
• Ensure up-to-date programme monitoring and evaluation materials (surveys, data collection tools and theoretical frameworks) are in place for existing programmes as well as those that are in development.
• In collaboration with colleagues in the Mentoring and Entrepreneurship teams, execute the annual calendar of programme and partner surveys, including uploading and testing the surveys.
• Develop analysis plans aligned to key research questions, programme goals and logical frameworks.
• Collect, clean and analyse quantitative and qualitative programme data aligned to programme goals, logical frameworks, organisational KPIs, and general summaries of findings.
• Collaborate with colleagues on the Mentoring and Entrepreneurship teams to support dissemination of programme findings and cross-site trends internally and externally.

Research and Evaluation

• Provide administrative, logistical and analytical support for programme evaluation and in-country data collection.
• Conduct desk research to support programme implementation and/or provide background and context for research and evaluation findings.
• Collect, clean and analyse data for Foundation-led or commissioned research and evaluations.
• Support development of tools and protocols for qualitative data collection, and conduct remote and in-country fieldwork, as needed.
• Project management and administration
• Attend and document monthly MEL meetings with colleagues in the Entrepreneurship and Mentoring teams.
• Support drafting internal and external reports to donors and in-country partners sharing programme outcomes and recommendations.
• Provide administrative support to the MEL team to organise and archive programme data, and anonymise PII in accordance with GDPR, under the direction of the MEL Manager.
• Maintain MEL data storage systems, including an organised library of accessible data collection tools and a database of vetted survey questions.

 Person specification

• Essential criteria
• Two or more years of experience working in MEL, ideally related to international development.
• Experience with MEL tools and approaches for qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, including survey design and implementation, semi-structured interviews, focus groups and outcome harvesting.
• Good skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and SurveyMonkey (or other survey tools such as Kobo Toolbox or Google Forms).
• Data collection, storage, analysis, and visualisation skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle competing priorities while maintaining a meticulous attention to detail.

You'll manage our BACP accredited therapy service, which provides therapy for people of all ages, delivered by a team of employed therapists and a pool of self-employed counsellors. 

You might be the right person for the role if you have:

• Management qualification minimum level 4
• A minimum 3 years’ experience in managing and supporting staff to deliver services effectively 
• A proven track record working in a quality assurance role including data collection, analysis and problem solving
• Knowledge, experience and awareness of rape and sexual abuse and their effects 
• Brilliant communication skills including an ability to provide effective feedback, negotiate well and work with others, including funders
• Full driving licence and ability to travel across the county on a regular basis

Deputy Head of Strategic Planning (Statutory Reporting and Data) | £55,000 - £60,000 + benefits

For a large, London-based University, we are recruiting a Deputy Head of Strategic Planning (Statutory Reporting and Data) to lead the delivery of statutory reporting, and the data governance and data quality required to ensure accurate data submissions. This is a key role in compiling, completing and assuring data quality on Higher Education Statutory Returns such as HESA Student, Initial Teacher Training (ITT) returns and Unistats. The role will provide oversight to the entire University data lifecycle, ensuring it informs internal analysis and external returns via robust governance and accurate completion and submission of all data returns.

Main Duties:

• Lead the University statutory data returns processes
• Act as the champion for data quality, ensuring process redesign and quality assurance are robust
• Own the start-to-finish cycle of statutory returns including HESA Student, Initial Teacher Training (ITT) returns and Unistats
• Oversight of other statutory data returns e.g., HEBCI and EMR
• Support further implementation of HESA Data Futures for future returns and shift to in-year reporting
• Lead, motivate and manage a team of highly performing staff

Person Specification:

• Expert knowledge of UK Higher Education statutory data submissions including data collection and manipulation
• Track record of improving data governance and data quality
• Excellent knowledge of the Higher Education sector, its data, policy and regulations and requirements of statutory reporting
• Experience of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) and external data requirements including OFS, HESA, HESES, TEF, SLC, EFSA
• Staff management, leadership and development
• Strong experience of data preparation, extraction and visualisation i.e., Alteryx, SQL, Power BI or tableau

About the role Finance Support and Service Officer

Sightsavers are excited to be recruiting a new team member to join their Burkina Faso country office. The Finance Support and Services Officer provides finance management support for the Country Office under the leadership of Finance Support and Service Manager.

Knowledge, skills and experience

In collaboration with colleagues the Finance Support and Service Officer will continually ensure quality and consistency of financial management in the country office. They will support the development of solutions to financial and support related problems, assist in the monitoring of country resource management and identify any risks or issues to the Programme Manager.

The post-holder will ensure financial management and risk mitigation are compliant with local regulations and adhere to the organisational Financial Framework by implementing financial controls, planning and budgeting. The role will lead support services for the country office by managing logistics of procurement supplies, manage payroll and work with programme and finance teams to review programme/project reports, planning and analysis, auditing of funds provided and grant management reporting.

The preferred candidate will have a relevant professional accounting qualification and a degree (or equivalent) in finance, accounting or related field. Previous experience working in an INGO environment is desirable, with experience of audit and government organisations being an advantage. A background in financial management is required, as are budget and data analysis skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Fluency/strong written and spoken English and French and current and ongoing right to work in Burkina Faso required.
