The Vacancy
We are looking for a Senior Advocate who will have day to day responsibility for the running and promotion of the advocacy service in Dorset.
You will manage a pool of advocates which involves recruitment, supporting them through induction and by conducting supervision and best practice meetings, ensuring the provisions of the service we offer to children and young people is to a high standard.
You will be responsible in managing the advocacy referrals and allocating these to the most appropriate advocate to meet the needs of the child or young person, whilst also carrying a small caseload of advocacy referrals yourself where you will provide independent and confidential advocacy to children and young people to empower them to express their wishes and feelings in decision that affect their lives to ensure that their voices are heard.
You will help drive the performance of the service by monitoring the referrals, activity and budgets, and using bespoke system, to prepare statistical and qualitative data reports for monitoring meetings to evidence service target achievements. This will also enable you to identify recurring themes and concerns which can be escalated.
This role also provides the opportunity to work in co-operation with other NYAS services and departments and well as acting the link between NYAS and the local authority.
Although the role is home based, there will be some travel around the Dorset area so we are looking for our successful candidate to live within the Dorset area or within a close surrounding area. You will be encouraged to engage in virtual meetings with your local team and attend NYAS wide virtual monthly meetings.

The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Research Manager. We are looking for an individual with quantitative research expertise and a desire to influence positive social change to join our Research Team. Previous experience in conducting research on the UK labour market is desirable but not essential. Reporting to the Senior Research Manager, the Research Manager will:

Contribute to the design and management of our research programme on labour market conditions, low pay, in-work poverty, and insecure work.

Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative research (mainly quantitative) to understand how existing working conditions such as low pay and insecure work - and potential improvements - affect workers, businesses, and society.

Provide thought-leadership on areas relevant to LWF’s work, including on areas like low pay, insecure work and cost-of-living, and relevant policy developments.

Communicate research findings verbally and in writing to influence employers to pay the real Living Wage, and to grow recognition and understanding of the Living Wage Foundation and the social policy issues it works on.

Provide input into in-house research standards and quality assurance.

Have direct line management responsibility for a researcher.

Build relationships with external partners, including commissioning and managing research conducted by other organisations.
Living Wage Foundation
The Living Wage Foundation was launched in 2011 by Citizens UK to tackle in-work poverty and ensure that workers earn enough to live on and participate in family and community life. Citizens UK is the home of community organising with diverse civil society alliances set up to develop leaders to work on the issues that matter to them, such as the Living Wage. Other projects include Parent Action and Sponsor Refugees to add depth to the impact of Citizens UK’s work.

This role sits within the communications team. Working as a Research Manager for the Living Wage Foundation, your main responsibilities will include:
Strategy Development

Contribute to the design and management of a research strategy for the Living Wage Foundation, effectively planning a timeline of future projects that combines to grow the Foundation’s influence, intelligence and impact.

Work across the Foundation’s communications, programme and business development teams to understand and support research and intelligence needs around Living Wage accreditation and the diversification of the Foundation’s work.

Support the Foundation’s communications team to embed data and research findings across traditional media, social media and website communications, including by identifying external hooks to showcase new or existing LWF Research.
Build and manage projects and achieve work targets effectively

Design and deliver high-quality research projects within the Living Wage Foundation’s research programme, focusing on the labour market, low pay and in-work poverty.

Conduct quantitative analysis of secondary datasets, including the Labour Force Survey, the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings, the Family Resources Survey and Understanding Society.

Commission, design and analyse primary polling of individuals and businesses.

Commission and manage research conducted for the Foundation by external organisations.

Conduct qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups with low-paid workers and employers.

What kind of research does the NSPCC Research and Evidence team do?
The NSPCC Research and Evidence team carries out, commissions and partners on high quality social research. We seek to answer big and small questions around preventing and stopping child abuse, and how to support children who have experienced it.
- Our research is child-centred, meaningful and useful - it drives improvements to our work with children, families and communities, influences the development of policy and guidance, and contributes to new NSPCC campaigns, as well as adding to the wider evidence base.
- We also support research activity at NSPCC via our Research Advice Clinic, Evidence Summary Service, and the NSPCC Research Ethics Committee.
What will the job involve?
This is an exciting and varied role for a researcher with excellent project management skills. You'll be working with colleagues in departments across the NSPCC including Childline, Policy and Public Affairs, Knowledge and Information, Schools services and Participation. Current projects we're working on include research on technology assisted online sexual extortion, sex and relationships education at secondary and primary levels, problematic sexual behaviour and provision of services to tackle loneliness, to name just a few.
Specifically, the role will involve:
- Designing and project managing research on a wide range of NSPCC research projects.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to develop research projects and advising other teams in the NSPCC about how to carry out robust and ethical research.
- Communicating research findings to a range of different audiences including colleagues, practitioners, decision makers, policy makers, academics and the children and families who access our services.
- Managing junior members of the team directly and via our matrix management structure.
What experience are we looking for?
You will have demonstrable experience of undertaking and managing complex research and evaluation projects in different settings and contexts. You will have a passion for the NSPCC's mission, and for child-centred, participatory research, as well as a strong understanding of:
- Qualitative and quantitative research methods, including participatory fieldwork methods
- What makes research, particularly research with children, safe and ethical.

Sightsavers’ Empowerment and Inclusion Strategic Framework explains our rights-based approach to social inclusion and our commitment to the progressive mainstreaming of disability throughout our programming. It underpins all our social inclusion work and complements our other global strategies on eye health, education, NTDs and research. The core objectives of the unrestricted portfolio include increasing access to economic empowerment pathways for people with disabilities, removing barriers in market systems, and leveraging initial seed funding to secure larger donor investments.
Purpose
The key purpose of this evaluation is to review and document the experience of implementation from the past two years to inform future strategic decision making. Sightsavers is seeking a Consultancy to conduct a comprehensive evaluation aimed at understanding the models and approaches that demonstrate effective pathways towards inclusive employment, contributing to the evidence and knowledge base of Sightsavers’ economic empowerment portfolio. The evaluation will place a particular emphasis on how the design and delivery of programmes might be enhanced for future programmatic work including a deep dive into two specific project approaches, IT academies and agriculture.
The Consultancy will be expected to evaluate the project level data and materials as well as primary data collected and consider if and how the projects have contributed towards the programme theory of change.

Timeline

Sightsavers will welcome expressions of interest from qualified independent evaluators or consultancy companies. The Consultancy and team members should have the following core competencies and experience.
Consultancy’s expertise
- Depth of knowledge conducting evaluations of economic empowerment programmes
- Previous experience working in West and East African countries, particularly Malawi, Kenya and/or Nigeria

The Ubele Initiative was established in 2014 as an African Diaspora led intergenerational social enterprise. Our mission is helping to build more sustainable black and racially minoritized communities across the UK. Ubele is unique in that it was built from bottom-up and is intentionally an intergenerational organisation.

About The Role
As a Ubele Programme Coordinator, you will be a member of the Community Wealth Building hub supporting the programme manager by overseeing administrative tasks, coordinating learning programmes, communicating with our partners ensuring resource availability for the project team from project inception to completion.
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Programme Coordination & Collaboration
Collaborate with the CWB Director and Agbero Programme Manager to coordinate the delivery of learning and training within Agbero2100.
Serve as the first point of contact for the Agbero2100 London programme, handling and redirecting enquiries as appropriate.

About the role
The Creative Minds Programme funded by the National Lottery, is designed to enhance mental health and wellbeing for adults in West Kent through engaging in creative activities.
These 24-week programmes are held in various locations across West Kent and are conducted in collaboration with professional artists, local arts organisations, and supported by the West Kent Mind community wellbeing team.
Open to adults (over the age of 18) in West Kent, the programme offers inclusive, free sessions in a wide range of artforms.
Key Objectives include boosting confidence, fostering connections, enhancing life skills, and increasing participants' ability to manage their mental health and support others.
Now in its second year, the programme aims to support 864 adults over three years, with a focus on those with mental health challenges or feelings of loneliness. In addition to creative workshops, the programme offers leadership training to select participants, empowering them to become "Creative Agents." These agents lead "Creative Places" to engage the wider public in community-based creative activities.
The programme is set to conclude in March 2026.
Who you are
All previous experience may be paid or voluntary, full, or part-time, in the UK or overseas.

This is a part time home-based role with extensive travel, where required, across Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria. Hours are flexible to suit, but will be between Monday to Friday.
A mobile phone, laptop and training is provided. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car which is essential (business mileage is paid).
