Responsibilities and Person Specification:
The Campaigns Manager plays a key role in developing and delivering campaign activity to improve the systems that older people rely on. The role helps deliver the department influencing strategy, mobilising older people living on a low income, and those who care about them, to take action to support Independent Age’s influencing campaigns, often targeting Governments across the nations, companies, regulators and others.
You should have a passion for improving the lives of older people on a low income through influencing policy change. With a strong understanding of how policy, public affairs, media communications and campaigning interact to make positive policy change happen, you’ll bring experience of working with people with lived experience to shine a light on the need for change.

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, which you can choose to work over five days or a 9 day fortnight.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced social and digital media professional to join the leading international horse charity World Horse Welfare.
The Social and Digital Media Officer plans, creates and publishes the charity’s social media and digital communications, ensuring accurate content and the right brand look, feel and messaging. Working to the Head of Communications and with the wider team, you will organise and proactively seek out stories and other content from across the charity to engage audiences through our digital media channels, including social platforms, the website and email. A key part of this role is testing and refining approaches to increase reach, engagement, website traffic and donations and to rigorously monitor and evaluate results to inform further activity.
We are looking for someone who has experience in the management of social media channels, a passion for social and digital media with a creative approach to engaging online audiences. You must be proactive, confident and capable of working with people at all levels in a variety of spheres. The role is based in Norfolk and is a hybrid split of 2 days in our head office in Snetterton and 3 days at home. You may be required to attend events around the UK and visit the charity’s four rescue and rehoming centres to gather content.

About the Role
As Public Affairs Manager, you will to bring to life our global influencing strategy and plans, with expectation of substantial external representation from local to United Nations level, to tackle the greatest threats working donkeys face locally and around the world, from the donkey skin trade to challenges working animals face in disasters.
Principal duties include:
• Working with departmental leadership to develop, design and implement plans to support the charities strategic aims to influence decision-makers and build powerful partnerships for change.
• Representing externally at conferences and events, ensuring coordination among partners, and that communications advance public affairs diplomatically.
• Collaborating with coalition partners and other animal welfare networks ensuring positive partnerships and successful outcomes.

As Communications and PR Manager we are looking for an experienced and high-achieving individual with exceptional written skills to work closely with our Director of Communications and Fundraising. The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective professional internal and external communications strategies for the Diocese to support the Diocesan Bishop and senior leaders as part of the Mission of the Church. As Communications Manager you will oversee the Diocese’s media relations including proactive engagement with journalists and responding to press inquiries. 1. Main Duties
Communications Strategy
- Design, develop, and implement the Diocese’s Communications Strategy which is fully aligned with the Diocese ten-year Mission plan.
- Research and identify appropriate methods and channels including secular and religious media to raise the Diocese’s profile and in turn that of the Catholic church.
- Collaborate with partners, such as the Bishops Conference of England and Wales to help shape and influence public policy aligned with Diocesan objectives.
External Communications
- Proactively identify opportunities for promoting positive news about the work of the diocese and enabling the Diocesan Bishop to contribute to thought leadership and public debate on relevant policies.
- Drafting material appropriate for publication.
- Arranging video to support key diocesan publications such as Bishops Pastoral Letters.
- Build and develop the Diocese’s links with press and media to support strategic objectives.
- Act as the point of contact for sensitive news, advising the Bishop and senior staff about media handling.
- Act as the Diocesan spokesperson when required, providing a positive and supportive representation of the Catholic Church and the Diocese.
- Develop and implement a Crisis Communications Plan, crafting media statements and briefing senior colleagues on media lines to take.
- Organise media training for senior clergy and lay leaders as required.

Internal Communications
- Work closely with HR to Oversee and improve the management of internal communications to foster transparency and engagement.
- Take overall responsibility for organising monthly team briefings for the department of Administration and for other ad hoc events involving parish employee’s clergy and volunteers.
- Manage communication channels such as the intranet, regular newsletters, and staff briefings to ensure alignment with Diocesan values and goals.
- Work with Bishops office on key publications such as the annual directory.
Website and Digital Presence
- Oversee the ongoing improvements in the functionality of the Diocesan website, ensuring it is engaging, user-friendly, up to date and supports the Bishop’s vision.
- Introduce interactive and video content to enhance user experience.
- Support parishes in developing and maintaining their local websites.
Support to Key Departments
- Collaborate with key departments to design and implement tailored communication strategies. For example, Safeguarding.
- Provide tools, templates, and guidance to ensure consistent and effective messaging across departments.
- Act as ‘brand champion’, developing, overseeing and implementing brand guidelines to professionalise and standardise all external communications output, whether it emanates from within or outside the Communications department.
- Build and maintain strong positive working relationships across the DSAS and wider Diocese to support the successful delivery of the communications strategy'
Meeting Attendance and Reporting
- Attend meetings of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee and any other meetings required, to provide briefings, regular written reports and seek approvals as needed from the Board of Trustees about Communication related matters.
- Support the work of Multidisciplinary meetings that may be called form time to time to deal with extraordinary events.
- Attend in person meetings in parishes across the Diocese where sensitive matters indicate that an in-person meeting is preferable.

The Sentencing Academy is a charitable incorporated organisation created in 2019 to promote more effective sentencing practices and to further professional and public understanding of sentencing across England and Wales. Our mission is to inform decision making and improve awareness and understanding of sentencing through evidence led research, working in collaboration with experts in the field.
We are looking for a Research and Policy Officer on an initial one year fixed-term contract. The primary responsibility for this role will be to create content for our forthcoming Sentencing Hub, which will draw together an array of resources on sentencing in England and Wales, including research summaries and data trends. The Sentencing Hub is currently in the early stages of development and will become a key research and statistical resource for those seeking the latest evidence on the effectiveness of the sentencing process. It will be of interest to sentencers, the Judicial College, the Sentencing Council, those involved in the policymaking process, Members of Parliament, journalists, and other stakeholders. We anticipate that the Hub will become the Sentencing Academy’s primary research and dissemination vehicle.
This role is a mostly remote working one but with regular meetings in London (approximately four times a month). Attendance at other locations may sometimes be required. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) but with flexibility to work reduced hours of no less than 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week). Occasional work outside of normal working hours may be required.

Make a Change
Make a Change is a community-wide, early response approach to people using abusive behaviours (or who are concerned that they might be) towards a current or ex-partner. The model has been developed by Respect in partnership with Women’s Aid Federation England, drawing inspiration from their Change that Lasts approach. It includes three strands: expert support programme for perpetrators with parallel support for survivors, workforce development and community outreach.
Improving the safety, freedom and wellbeing of adult and child survivors of domestic abuse is a key outcome for our work with perpetrators. The Make a Change model is a multi-partner project offering local areas a framework for delivering perpetrator work. Where feasible, we aim to establish partnerships with local survivor domestic abuse service to deliver parallel support for survivors (referred to as Integrated Support Service) as part the expert support strand.
Purpose of the role:
The Senior Communications and Policy Officer will work with the Make a Change team at Respect to advance the development of communication and policy activities for the Make a Change model in project sites and nationally to encourage uptake in new areas. They will also work with Respect’s Communications and Influence leads to ensure alignment with the organisation's broader messaging and advocacy efforts, maximising the impact of Make a Change initiatives.
