About the role

The Head of Executive Office provides oversight, coordination, and leadership for cross-functional activities, in particularly leading cross-organisational planning, setting performance measures, reporting, and monitoring of our annual and multi-year strategy and plans, and supporting the organisations effective governance to deliver on these.  You’ll oversee the internal calendar and cycle of accountability and reporting, as well as supporting development and delivery on long-term operational plans to support our sustainability.

You and your team will work closely with the Director of People and OD on internal communication. You’ll support the CEO (in partnership with Advocacy, Fundraising and Communications) to take full advantage of multiple external opportunities for effective advocacy, profile raising, and fundraising - enabling CARE’s global programmatic power to influence and impact UK Government and aligned to our Strategy and Mission.

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Ellen Baker who joined ClientEarth in 2015 and is based in London. Ellen works in the Strategic Communications team, overseeing and delivering multi-channel media campaigns internationally to challenge the status quo on climate and nature and directly influence the behaviours of governments and companies. Working with lawyers and policy experts in the programme teams, she has used strategic media and campaigning work to turn our court action in courts in the UK, Germany and across the EU into major political and corporate impetus for change. Ellen speaks English, French, German and Italian.

Main Duties

• Develop, implement and measure innovative communications to support the strategic objectives of key programmatic work supported by the Global Communications Managers. 
• Create impactful content and key messages that helps to engage and influence key decision-makers.
• Coordinate the delivery of sustained, high-profile and positive communications across all channels, working closely with the Digital team.
• Represent ClientEarth in relevant national and international coalitions as required, bringing our expertise to the table and adding value to joint communications. 
• Develop relationships to match the strategic needs of relevant programme teams, including with journalists, partner organisations and others who can help us deliver our messages. 
• Help add value to the work of our partners in other countries by contributing to communications plans and the delivery of those plans.

• Proven experience producing engaging press releases and gaining impactful media coverage in mainstream news outlets at national or international level, in line with strategic goals (essential)

Press Officer internally know as Press and External Affairs Officer

We are looking to recruit an ambitious, proactive Press and External Affairs Officer to join our small, dynamic and friendly communications and external affairs team as maternity cover.

Main duties:

• To act as the Alliance’s first point of contact for the local and regional media.
• To lead on the drafting and dissemination of both proactive and reactive press releases and comments. To gather evidence, case studies and other information as required to support the Alliance’s strategies for press, public affairs and campaigning.

Context and Background

We are recruiting a Senior Policy Research Officer to develop and deliver our early years and health policy work to deliver real change and reform in the best interests of children.

The post holder will work in the UK/England part of the Policy and Public Affairs Team, focussed on influencing the Westminster Government. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including policy research, policy development and public affairs. This is a great opportunity to drive policy work in an exciting policy area, by building a strong evidence base and contributing to effective influencing strategies.

Main duties and responsibilities

Policy development:

• Contribute to the delivery of our research activity, working with teams across the NSPCC to assess policy andevidence needs, then design and undertake impactful research projects to address these.
• Manage policy research projects from development and commissioning stage through to completion, providing direction and supervision to ensure the highest standards of delivery.
• Analyse a wide range of primary and secondary sources of evidence (such as official data sets and statistics, policy documents, academic literature, economic analyses, FOls and survey data) to develop innovative and evidence-based policy solutions to complex problems.

Public affairs:

• Prepare high-quality briefings, summaries and consultation responses for both external and internal audiences.

About the role

The Motability Foundation is looking for a confident, driven media and PR professional to join the Communications team and lead our media and PR activity.

This a really exciting time to be joining the Foundation as we embark on our new strategy in 2025. With a recently refreshed new brand, our vision is clear, we want to help disabled people make the journeys they choose. This role will play a crucial part in our work to raise awareness of the work of the Motability Foundation and amplify the voices of disabled people across the media.

This role will take a lead on all media and PR activities. With a strong news sense, you’ll help develop and execute forward-thinking PR plans and strategies for the organisation, manage our external profile and raise awareness of the work we do, aligned to our vision.

THE ROLE

At a time of unprecedented demand for our services at NEA we have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Training and Assessment Officer to work on a full-time basis, 37 hours per week, the contract is a 2-year fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.

As part of NEA’s Development and Partnerships Directorate, you will report to NEA’s Training Programme Delivery Manager.

Acting as course tutor and examiner, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering NEA’s training courses and qualifications to a wide range of organisations, including local authorities, housing associations, voluntary and community groups, and commercial organisations across England and the wider UK.  Our courses cover key issues associated with fuel poverty, fuel debt, affordable warmth, low carbon technologies and practical energy efficiency advice.

Our Training and Assessment Officers assist in the development of future assessment-based qualifications and have the ability to recognise new areas of opportunity; designing, developing and producing engaging and innovative training presentations and material as appropriate, for face-to-face and online delivery of current and future training and assessment products.

This role requires a relevant training or education qualification and recent demonstrable experience of delivering adult training. Ideally, you will also have experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues and/or housing.

The post requires an element of flexibility as Training and Assessment Officers will on occasion be required to work outside of normal office hours and away from home; driving will sometimes be required.

This post provides an exciting and rewarding opportunity to help the charity deliver its work programme as a major national provider of energy advice services whilst developing and working on projects that bring social benefits and improvements to the well-being of low income and vulnerable householders whilst also meeting environmental goals.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience of adult training delivery, course design and development, and hold a relevant training or education qualification.

The right candidate will be engaging with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have sound presentation skills and a creative and structured approach to training delivery.

You will be highly organised, self-motivated and have the ability to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team.

It is important that the successful candidate shares NEA’s core values, and you should be able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims and objectives of NEA and the eradication of fuel poverty. Experience or knowledge of fuel poverty, community development, debt or money advice, consumer issues or housing is desirable.

It would be beneficial for the successful candidate to have experience of working with vulnerable householders, low-income and/or other disadvantaged groups however, this is not essential.

Home working and office-based locations are available depending on proximity to an NEA office.  Post holders must be resident within the UK and be able to provide their Right to Work in the UK. 

WE ARE OFFERING

• £31,068 – £35,836 per annum (Points 18-25) plus London weighting of £3,300 if applicable. New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the scale.

About the role

In 2025, the government will pass landmark legislation via the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, making the UK the first country in the world to phase out the sale of tobacco to future generations. This is your opportunity to join an ambitious and high-performing policy team at a critical time to influence the policy direction on tobacco in Westminster, the NHS and local government. ASH has a small team, meaning that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas and gain wide experience very quickly.

This includes supporting policy development around novel products such as vapes alongside efforts to reduce health inequalities by addressing smoking among groups experiencing disadvantage. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic policy environment, the Senior Policy Officer will be responsible for delivering ASH’s programmes of work to reduce smoking prevalence among people with mental health conditions and improve delivery of stop smoking support in the NHS. There’s no such thing as a typical day: the Senior Policy Officer could be involved in everything from leading on consultation responses or contributing to briefings for MPs, to running a webinar for NHS professionals. This will involve:

· Building relationships with key stakeholders in government departments, the NHS and other NGOs.

· Maintaining and developing ASH’s professional networks.

· Developing and writing briefings, reports and resources on a wide range of issues relating to smoking and vaping.

· Responding to government consultations to shape new regulations.

· Organising events and webinars.

· Staying up to date with the latest academic and wider evidence on policy issues relating to tobacco and vaping,          developing expertise in ASH policy portfolios.

About the candidate

The successful candidate will be able to master a brief and get on top of any subject in sufficient depth to be an effective advocate. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Policy Officer to join our Policy and Research department. The Senior Policy Officer will support the development and implementation of our policy activity, including our work to support the Youth Employment Group and APPG for Youth Employment.  This role is ideal for someone with a background in policy development and advocacy.

Policy Development and Analysis: 

• Respond to external policy, research papers, and inquiries.

The Epilepsy Society is seeking a progressive and ambitious Governance Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some experience in governance but looking to develop their existing skills and grow within the organisation. 
This is a brand new post, you will be assisting Company Secretary by providing governance, risk and compliance support including organising the Board of Trustees’, Board sub-committees’ meetings and annual calendars as well as assisting with internal Corporate Services projects.

About the team

The Research Team works across Shelter to develop innovative research, analytics and insight to identify opportunities to influence, drive policy change and inform Shelter’s strategic direction.

The Research Team carries out a range of work to identify the nature and causes of housing and homelessness problems. This includes primary and secondary research, both conducted in-house and commissioned, into Shelter clients and the even greater number of people in housing need, many of which often don’t seek help. We also try to understand and anticipate future trends using analysis of government policy and economic data. All of this is combined to feed our policy influencing, public campaigning and service design and delivery.

About the Lead HR Officer role

In this generalist role, you will focus on the recruitment and retention of talented staff by helping to foster a positive, inclusive and empowering working environment that shapes our organisational culture. You will play an integral  part in shaping policies, championing best practice, managing employee relations and leading mental health and wellbeing initiatives.

As Lead HR Officer you will have both a strategic and operational focus, from incorporating EDI into our practices to providing specialist support and expertise in areas such as recruitment, performance management and employee relations. This role is also responsible for the line management of the HR Coordinator, and you will at times deputise for the Director of People and Culture at HR Group and Board of Trustee meetings.

About you

Qualified to CIPD level 5 and experienced in busy HR environments,  you should be adept at providing advice and support, skilled in reviewing and developing policy, and familiar with leading wellbeing activities and other HR projects to successful conclusions.

Exposure to HR systems and databases such as NaturalHR and external resources including HR-inform would be beneficial, as would knowledge of payroll management, experience of standing in for more senior managers and a Mental Health First aid qualification.
